Data Aggregation: A Proposed Psychometric IPD Meta-Analysis

Individual participant data (IPD) meta-analysis was developed to overcome several meta-analytical pitfalls of classical meta-analysis. One advantage of classical psychometric meta-analysis over IPD meta-analysis is the corrections of the aggregated unit of studies, namely study differences, i.e., artifacts, such as measurement error. Without these corrections on a study level, meta-analysts may assume moderator variables instead of artifacts between studies. The psychometric correction of the aggregation unit of individuals in IPD meta-analysis has been neglected by IPD meta-analysts thus far. In this paper, we present the adaptation of a psychometric approach for IPD meta-analysis to account for the differences in the aggregation unit of individuals to overcome differences between individuals. We introduce the reader to this approach using the aggregation of lens model studies on individual data as an example, and lay out different application possibilities for the future (e.g., big data analysis). Our suggested psychometric IPD meta-analysis supplements the meta-analysis approaches within the field and is a suitable alternative for future analysis.

Background:Globally,there is a high demand for nurses,resulting in migration from low‑to high‑income *** emigration of nurses is the act of leaving one's own country to settle permanently in another country,leading to a shortage in the number of nurses in their home ***,this study aims to assess the impact of the emigration of nurses on the health‑care delivery system in *** and Methods:A descriptive cross‑sectional survey was conducted with a stratified sampling technique to select 270 nurses from three selected hospitals in Benin‑city Edo state.A self‑structured questionnaire with open and Likert scale questions were used as an instrument to assess the Impact of the Emigration of nurses on the Health Care Delivery *** collected were analyzed using tables,percentages,means,standard deviation and t‑***:The result showed a mean score of 1.59±0.92 impacts of the emigration of nurses on health‑care delivery system and identified how to reduce *** study also showed that there is no significant difference between gender and reason for emigration among nurses(t=3.84,P≤0.001).Conclusion:The emigration of nurses is severely affecting the health care delivery system in the ***,the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria gave the directive for training schools to increase their training capacity and number of students’intake to cushion the effect,and this study shows that this palliative can only be a short time measure,and however will encourage more nurses traveling abroad on the long ***,the hospital managers and government should provide a conducive working environment,better remuneration,attractive retirement benefit,and other incentives as a push in factor for nurses to stay back in their home countries.

Friction stir spot welding technique was employed to join pure copper （C11000） and pure aluminium （AA1060） sheets. The evolving properties of the welds produced were characterized. The spot welds were produced by varying the rotational speed, shoulder plunge depth using different tool geometries. The presence of a copper ring of different lengths was observed on both sides of the welds indicating that Cu extruded upward into the Al sheet which contributed to obtaining strong welds. The microstructure showed the presence of copper particles in the aluminium matrix which led to the presence of various intermetallics observed by the energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. The maximum tensile failure load increases with an increase in the shoulder plunge depth, except for the weld produced at 800 r/min using a conical pin and a concave shoulder. A nugget pull-out failure mode occurred in all the friction stir spot welds under the lap-shear loading conditions. High peaks of Vickers microhardness values were obtained in the vicinity of the keyhole of most of the samples which correlated to the presence of intermetallics in the stir zone of the welds.

Objective:To evaluate Ficus asperifolia(Moraceae)(***)effecting on regular estrus cycle of Wistar ***:Air-dried fruits of *** were extracted using *** to the test,vaginal smear was monitored daily for a 3-week period to select females with normal(regular)estrous *** with regular estrus cycle weighing between 150-170 g were randomized into three sets of 15 animals *** set was then divided into three groups:Group 1(control)was orally administered with distilled water(10 mL/kg body weight)once a day for 1 week starting from the proestrus *** 2 and 3 were respectively treated with 100and 500 mg/kg body weight of the plant aqueous *** two other sets of 15 animals each were similarly treated as the first set for 3 weeks and 6 weeks *** cycle pattern was monitored before and during plant extract application whereas lipid profile,ovary,uterus and liver growth indices were determined at the end of each ***:*** did not disrupt(0%)the order of appearance of normal estrus cycle stages,namely,proestrus,estrus,metestrus and ***-term treatment(1 week duration)exhibited high frequency of appearance of proestrus and estrus stages while mid-(3 weeks)and long-term(6 weeks)treatments revealed constancy in the frequency of all stages irrespective to animal *** plasma and organ lipid profile,as well as ovary,uterus and liver growth remained unchanged when compared to distilled water-treated *** long-term administration of plant extract(6 weeks),no adverse effect was ***:Our data partially support the use of *** in common medicine.

Ninety percent of the world’s fishers are directly involved in small-scale fisheries(SSFs),and many food safety and quality issues along the food value chains may be both irreversible and *** safe,high-quality aquatic products are key to sustaining life,promoting good health,and avoiding adverse health *** This paper aimed to highlight factors preventing the implementation of safety and quality assurance systems in SSFs by analysing the results from surveys on the implementation of Article 11 of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations(FAO)Code of Conduct for Responsible Fisheries(2017,2019,and 2022).Materials and methods The analysis considered responses to 15 closed-ended questions on food safety and quality obtained from 143 FAO Members and the European Union,and 87 open-ended replies addressing challenges in *** The major factors preventing the implementation of the Code’s food safety and quality provisions were lack of sanitation and monitoring programmes,lack of infrastructure(particularly refrigeration facilities)lack of technical capacities and limited management of food safety risks along the value *** and quality assurance efforts were focused on international markets,resulting in less attention being paid to domestic markets where a high degree of informality was *** Improved implementation of safety and quality assurance systems will lead to safer food with higher nutritional quality,extended shelf-life and reduced post-harvest *** awareness of food safety issues in SSFs is a prerequisite for achieving several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
