Over the past two decades,the USA has witnessed a steep rise in the incidence of acute cholecystitis(AC),[1]even among children,[2]with over 200,000 cases annually.[3]Patients with AC often present to the emergency department(ED)experiencing severe distress,with most describing their pain level as“intolerable.”[4]Furthermore,there is usually a considerable delay before surgery,with a median time from diagnosis of AC to surgery of 28.5 h,[5]and a substantial percentage of patients wait as long as 10 d.[6]Prolonged delays before surgery lead to increased opioid use,which is associated with extended hospital stays and higher rates of readmission after cholecystectomy.[7]Furthermore,opioids can lead to vomiting,respiratory depression,delirium,and ultimately addiction.[8]We propose a novel regional anesthesia technique for managing AC:right phrenic nerve *** method could offer improved pain control and a more favorable risk profile in selected patients when compared to current ED practices.

Increasing demand for energy due to the populous Eastern Australia has driven oil and gas industries to find new sources of hydrocarbons as they are the primary energy *** study has been done on the Volador Formation in the Gippsland Basin by means of core-based petrophysical,sedimentological,and petrographic analyses as well as well log-based interpretation and capillary pressure *** wells from Kipper,Basker and Tuna fields with available dataset were investigated in this study:Kipper-1,Basker-1,Basker-2,Basker-5 and ***,the formation has good reservoir quality based on the high porosity and permeability values obtained through core and well log petrophysical *** formation made up of mostly moderate to coarse quartz grains that has experienced strong anti-compaction and is poorly *** and illite clays are seen dispersed in the rock formation,with the minority being mixed *** clays and diagenetic features including kaolinite cement and quartz overgrowth that can lead to porosity reduction only have insignificant impact on the overall reservoir *** addition,capillary pressure data shows that most samples are found in the transition to good reservoir zones(<50%saturation).The results obtained from this study have shown that the Volador Formation in the Gippsland Basin is worth for hydrocarbon exploration.

The evaluation of reservoir quality was accomplished on the Late Paleocene to Early Eocene Narimba Formation in Bass Basin,*** study involved combination methods such as petrophysical analysis,petrography and sedimentological studies,reservoir quality and fluid flow units from derivative parameters,and capillary pressure and wetting fluid saturation *** and diagenetic features are affecting the reservoir ***,compaction,and presence of clay minerals such as kaolinite are found to reduce the quality while dissolution and secondary porosity are noticed to improve *** is believed that the Narimba Formation is a potential reservoir with a wide range of porosity and *** ranges from 3.1%to 25.4%with a mean of 15.84%,while permeability ranges between 0.01 mD and 510 mD,with a mean of 31.05 *** on the heterogenous lithology,the formation has been categorized into five groups based on permeability *** I showed an excellent to good quality reservoir with coarse *** impacts of both textural and diagenetic features improve the reservoir and producing higher reservoir quality index(RQI)and flow zone indicators(FZI)as well as mostly mega *** non-wetting fluid migration has the higher possibility to flow in the formation while displacement pressure recorded as *** II showed a fair quality reservoir with lower petrophysical properties in macro *** irreducible water saturation is increasing while the textural and digenetic properties are still enhancing the reservoir *** III reflects lower quality reservoir with mostly macro pores and higher displacement *** may indicate smaller grain size and increasing amount of cement and clay *** IV,and V are interpreted as a poor-quality reservoir that has lower RQI and *** textural and digenetic features are negatively affecting the reservoir and are leading to smaller pore size and pore throat radii(r35)

The Mangahewa Formation is the primary reservoir target in the Mangahewa Field in the Taranaki Basin,New *** formation is distinguished by its marginal marine substantial tight-sand reservoir,having thickness exceeding 800 *** aim of this study is to assess the reservoir properties of the Mangahewa Formation through 3D reservoir modeling,employing 3D seismic data,core data,and well data from the Mangahewa *** variance attributes,the faults and horizons have been identified successfully within the *** majority of the interpreted faults exhibit dip angles exceeding 60°,with a maximum displacement of 118 *** detect direct hydrocarbon indicators,root-mean-square amplitude seismic attribute,envelope,and generalized spectral decomposition techniques have been ***,four lithofacies,comprising 78.3%sandstone,9.2%siltstone,9.5%claystone,and 3.0%coal have been established by utilizing the Sequential Indicator Simulation(SIS)algorithm to create a lithofacies model.A property model has been generated using the Sequential Gaussian Simulation(SGS)*** evaluation indicates that the Mangahewa Formation exhibits reservoir qualities ranging from fair to good,with porosity levels between 8%and 11%,permeability averaging up to 10 mD,variable shale volumes,and hydrocarbon saturation in the range of 40%-50%.This study's methodologies and findings can serve as a valuable foundation for similar investigations in other tightsand gas fields located in different regions.

Three different bismuth-lead systems namely, Wood＇s alloy （Bi50Pb25Sn12.5Cd12.5）, Newton＇s alloy （Bi50Pb31.2Sn18.8） and Rose＇s alloy （B50Pb28Sn22）, with one used as fusible alloys were quenched from melt by melt spinning technique. Thermal analysis, structure and mechanical properties of all alloys have been studied and analyzed. From X-ray diffraction analysis, an intermetallic compound phase, designated Pb7Bi3 is detected. The formation of an intermetallic compound phase causes a pronounced increase in the electrical resistivity. The Wood＇s alloy containing-cadmium exhibits mechanical properties superior to both the Newton＇s and Rose＇s alloys. The presence of cadmium in Wood＇s alloy decreases its melting point. Wood＇s alloy has better properties, which make it useful in various applications such as in protection shields for radiotherapy, locking of mechanical devices and welding at low temperature.

Phytochemical, antioxidant and hepatoprotective effects of different fractions of Moringa oleifera leaves methanol extract against liver injury in animal model

Objective: To evaluate the potential antioxidant and hepatoprotective effects of n-hexane, dichloromethane(DCM), ethyl acetate(EtOAc), n-butanol and aqueous fractions of Moringa oleifera(M. oleifera) leaves methanol extract against carbon tetrachloride(CCl_4)-induced liver injury in rats. Methods: These fractions were prepared from the M. oleifera leaves methanol extract by solubilization in water and partitioning in n-hexane, EtOAc, DCM and n-butanol. Their phyto-components were identified by GC-MS analysis. The in vitro antioxidant effect of these fractions was carried out by assessment of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl scavenging activity. A total of 40 Sprague Dawley rats were allocated into 8 equal groups: group 1 given olive oil(1 m L/kg ***.), group 2 injected with CCl_4, group 3 to 7 administered with n-hexane, DCM, EtOAc, n-butanol and aqueous fractions, respectively after CCl_4, group 8 administered with silymarin after CCl_4. The activities of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, and the levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, glucose, total proteins and albumin in serum were determined spectrophotometrically. Glutathione reduced, lipid peroxide by-products levels, glutathione-s-transferase and catalase enzyme activities in the liver homogenate were determined by spectrophotometer. Liver specimens were also examined for histopathological alterations under light microscope. Results: The GCMS analysis of different fractions of the M. oleifera leaves methanol extract revealed that n-hexane, DCM, EtOAc, n-butanol, and aqueous fractions contained 17, 22, 23, 19 and 32 compounds, respectively. The percent and the molecular structure of each component in each fraction were identified. The n-butanol and EtOAc fractions exhibited the strongest in vitro antioxidant activity against 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl. The dynamical moment of inertia is estimated with its even-power expansion of the rotational frequency and in accordance we determine the intermediate spins of the superdeformed(SD)rotational *** Marquardt method of nonlinear least-squares routines,we determine the expansion coefficients by fitting the proposed dynamical moment of inertia with its recent experimental data of the SD nuclei in the A=190 mass *** comparison between our theoretical and available experimental data for the dynamic moment of inertia and spin shows good agreements. Also,we have calculated the static moment of inertia at three alternative values of *** value of spin at which the two moments of inertia are nearly equals is to be regarded as a bandhead spin of the corresponding *** studies are carried out for eighteen bands of odd-A nuclei of the superdeformed region 190,namely ~(189)Hg(b1),~(191)Hg(b1,b2, b3,b4),~(193)Hg(b2,b3,b5),~(195)Hg(b1,b2,b3,b4),~(193)Tl(b1,b2,b3,b5),~(189)Tl(b1),and~(197)Bi(b1).We also notice the occurrence of identical SD bands with near identical transition energies among the considered SD bands.

Assessment of Urban Sprawl on Agricultural Soil of Northern Nile Delta of Egypt Using RS and GIS

Urban sprawl is threatening the limited highly fertile land in the Nile delta of Egypt. Landsat TM satellite images of 1984, 1992 and ETM+ of 2006 have been used to study the impact of urban sprawl on agricultural land of the Northern Nile delta, Egypt. Visual interpretation using on screen digitizing and change detection techniques were applied for monitoring the urban sprawl. Combining the land capability map and the urban thematic layer using GIS made it possible to point out the risk of urban expansion on the expense of the highly capable soil class. The results show that a total expansion of urban area amounted to 689.20 km2(6.3% of total area) during the study period 1984–2006. The urban expansion during the 1984–2006 was on the expense of the most fertile soils where, the high capable soils(Class I) lost 247.14 km2(2.26 % of total area) and the moderate capable soils lost 32.73 km2(0.3% of total area), while the low capable soils lost only 57.39 km2(0.53% of total area). The urban encroachment over the non capable soils was very limited during the study period 1984–1992, where 7.33 km2 only was lost. The pattern of urban sprawl has been changed during the 1992 to 2006 whereas much larger area(50.64 km2) of the non capable soils was converted to urban. It can be concluded that the urban sprawl is one of the dominant degradation process on the land of Nile Delta.

Biochemical Liver Functions and Molecular Identification of Fasciola hepatica from Experimentally Infected Rat Model

The current study was performed to evaluate the liver function status as well as molecular characterization of the recovered worms in rats experimentally infected with F. hepatica. Sixteen male Wister rats aged 30 days were randomly allocated into two groups (n = 8). The first group was infected orally with 15 viable encysted metacercaria of F. hepatica per animal. The other group was kept non-infected (control group). At zero time (before infection), the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 14th weeks post-infection (WPI), blood and serum samples were collected via puncture of retro-orbital plexus of veins from each rat. Serum enzyme level (AST and ALT) and total protein were measured, and the serum protein profile was carried out using agarose gel electrophoresis. During the period of the experiment, serum ALT and AST activities and serum total globulins significantly increased while serum total proteins and albumin markedly decreased in the infected group. On the 14th WPI, the data of the electropherogram showed that globulin fractions (α1-, β- and γ-globulin) levels were significantly increased while α2-globulin was markedly decreased in the infected group. The molecular analysis confirmed the amplification of the ITS1, ITS2 and NDI genes of F. hepatica recovered from the infected liver of rats with amplicon sizes of 630, 510 and 560 bp, respectively. Sequencing of the amplified ITS gene resulted in the determination of 3 strains (PP108836, PP108837, and PP108838). Also, analysis of the ITS2 gene resulted in obtaining 3 isolates under the accession numbers (PP109065, PP109066, and PP109067). In conclusion, fasciolosis in the rat model is suitable for routine experimental infections and caused a pronounced liver dysfunction with discharging of the Fasciola eggs in the faeces and the development of adult stages in the bile ducts.
