BACKGROUND Schistosomiasis,officially named as a neglected tropical disease by The World Health Organization,is a serious parasitic disease caused by trematode flukes of the genus *** is a common infectious disease,endemic in more than 78 *** disease can involve various organs and poses far-reaching public health *** SUmmARY Here,we present a series of five patients with variable presentations:an asymptomatic patient who was diagnosed with colonic schistosomiasis upon screening colonoscopy;2 patients with clinical suspicion of colonic cancer;and 2 patients with a clinical diagnosis of inflammatory bowel *** patients were subsequently confirmed to have colonic schistosomiasis after colonoscopy and histopathologic *** clinical manifestations,colonoscopy features and histologic findings of the patients are *** of the patients showed significant clinical improvement following administration of oral *** Intestinal schistosomiasis can present with features mimicking other gastrointestinal *** disease should be a diagnostic consideration in patients who live in or have traveled to endemic areas.

Climate change poses daunting challenges to agricultural production and food *** temperatures,shifting weather patterns,and more frequent extreme events have already demonstrated their effects on local,regional,and global agricultural *** varieties that withstand climate-related stresses and are suitable for cultivation in innovative cropping systems will be crucial to maximize risk avoidance,productivity,and profitability under climate-changed *** surveyed 588 expert stakeholders to predict current and novel traits that may be essential for future pearl millet,sorghum,maize,groundnut,cowpea,and common bean varieties,particularly in sub-Saharan *** then review the current progress and prospects for breeding three prioritized future-essential traits for each of these *** predict that most current breeding priorities will remain important,but that rates of genetic gain must increase to keep pace with climate challenges and consumer ***,the predicted future-essential traits include innovative breeding targets that must also be prioritized;for example,(1)optimized rhizosphere microbiome,with benefits for P,N,and water use efficiency,(2)optimized performance across or in specific cropping systems,(3)lower nighttime respiration,(4)improved stover quality,and(5)increased early *** further discuss cutting-edge tools and approaches to discover,validate,and incorporate novel genetic diversity from exotic germplasm into breeding populations with unprecedented precision,accuracy,and *** conclude that the greatest challenge to developing crop varieties to win the race between climate change and food security might be our innovativeness in defining and boldness to breed for the traits of tomorrow.

Sperm-specific phospholipase C zeta(PLCζ)initiates intracellular calcium(Ca2+)transients which drive a series of concurrent events collectively termed oocyte *** investigations have linked abrogation and absence/reduction of PLCζwith forms of male infertility in humans where oocyte activation ***,very few studies have examined potential relationships between PLCζand advancing male age,both of which are increasingly considered to be major effectors of male *** efforts in humans may be hindered by inherent PLCζvariability within the human population,alongside a lack of sufficient controllable ***,utilizing immunoblotting,immunofluorescence,and quantitative reverse transcription PCR(qRT-PCR)we examined for the first time PLCζprotein levels and localization patterns in sperm,and PLCζmRNA levels within testes,from mice at 8 weeks,12 weeks,24 weeks,and 36 weeks of age,from two separate strains of mice,C57BL/6(B6;inbred)and CD1(outbred).Collectively,advancing male age generally diminished levels and variability of PLCζprotein and mRNA in sperm and testes,respectively,when both strains were ***,advancing male age altered the predominant pattern of PLCζlocalization in mouse sperm,with younger mice exhibiting predominantly post-acrosomal,and older mice exhibiting both post-acrosomal and acrosomal populations of PLCζ.However,the specific pattern of such decline in levels of protein and mRNA was ***,our results demonstrate a negative relationship between advancing male age and PLCζlevels and localization patterns,indicating that aging male mice from different strains may serve as useful models to investigate PLCζin cases of male infertility and subfertility in humans.

Phenology and population dynamics of sand flies in a new focus of visceral leishmaniasis in Eastern Azarbaijan Province,North western of Iran

modified Differential Transform method (DTm) Simulation of Hydromagnetic multi-Physical Flow Phenomena from a Rotating Disk

A similarity solution for the steady hydromagnetic convective heat and mass transfer with slip flow from a spinning disk with viscous dissipation and Ohmic heating yields a system of non-linear, coupled, ordinary differential equations. These equations are analytically solved by applying a newly developed method namely the DTm-Padé technique which is a combination of the Differential Transform method (DTm) and the Padé approximation. A full analytical solution is presented, as a benchmark for alternative numerical solutions. DTm-Padé is implemented without requiring linearization, discretization, or perturbation, and holds significant potential for solving strongly nonlinear differential equations which arise frequently in fluid dynamics. The regime studied is shown to be controlled by the slip parameter (γ), magnetohydrodynamic body force parameter (m), Eckert (viscous heating) number (Ec), Schmidt number (Sc), Soret number (Sr), Dufour number (Du) and Prandtl number (Pr). The influence of selected parameters on the evolution of dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration distributions is studied graphically. Increasing magnetic field (m) is found to significantly inhibit the radial (f) and tangential (g) velocities, but to accentuate the axial velocity field (h);furthermore temperature (θ) and concentration (φ) are both enhanced with increasing m. Increasing Soret number (Sr) acts to boost the dimensionless concentration (φ). Temperatures are significantly elevated in the boundary layer regime with a rise in Eckert number (Ec). Excellent correlation between the DTm-Padé technique and numerical (shooting) solutions is achieved. The model has important applications in industrial energy systems, process mechanical engineering, electromagnetic materials processing and electro-conductive chemical transport processes.

Lipid Peroxidation and Some Antioxidant Enzymes Evaluation in Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Treated male and Female Wistar Rats Exposed to Chronic Restraint Stress

This study was designed to assess the effect to apple cider vinegar (ACV) on oxidative stress biomarkers in male and female Wistar rats exposed to chronic restraint stress. Severe and persistent stress elevates reactive oxygen species (ROS) production by metabolic and physiological processes;causing cellular damage. Thirty (30) Adult Wistar rats of both sexes weighing about 150 - 200 g were divided into 3 groups each consisting of a male and female subgroup and given the following treatments once a day for 21 days: Normal control group received 0.5 ml distilled water orally, the restraint stress (RS) group was exposed to chronic restraint stress 6 hours daily while the Apple cider vinegar (ACV)-treated group received 4 ml/kg of apple cider vinegar orally in addition to chronic restraint stress 6 hours daily. The rats were sacrificed after the experimental period and blood was collected via cardiac puncture for assessing oxidative stress biomarkers. ACV (4 ml/kg) treatment decreased lipid peroxidation (mDA) and serum catalase (CAT) activity while upregulating endogenous superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity. The findings of this study show that the female Wistar rats are more predisposed to the antioxidant effect of ACV than the males.
