The influence of emissions of an active volcano on the composition of nanoparticles and ultrafine road dust was identified in an urban area of the *** many cities are close to active volcanoes,few studies have evaluated their influence in road dust *** quality in urban areas is significantly affected by nonexhaust emissions(*** dust,brake wear,tire wear),however,natural sources such as volcanoes also impact the chemical composition of the *** this study,elements from volcanic emissions such as Si>Al>Fe>Ca>K>mg,and Si-Al with K were identified as complex ***,As,Hg,Cd,Pb,As,H,Cd,Pb,V,and salammoniac were observed in nanoparticles and ultrafine *** composition was detected in the order of quartz>mullite>calcite>kaolinite>illite>goethite>magnetite>zircon>monazite,in addition to salammoniac,a tracer of volcanic *** foregoing analysis reflects the importance of carrying out more studies relating the influence of volcanic emissions in road dust in order to protect human *** road dust load(RD_(10))ranged between 0.8 and 26.8 mg m^(−2)in the city.

A quantum chemistry study of the first singlet(S_(1))and triplet(T_(1))excited states of phenylsulfonyl-carbazole compounds,proposed as useful thermally activated delayed fluorescence(TADF)emitters for organic light emitting diode(OLED)applications,was performed with the quantum Equation-Of-motion Variational Quantum Eigensolver(qEOm-VQE)and Variational Quantum Deflation(VQD)algorithms on quantum simulators and *** quantum simulations were performed with double zeta quality basis sets on an active space comprising the highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals(HOmO,LUmO)of the TADF *** differences in energy separations between S_(1) and T_(1)(ΔEST)predicted by calculations on quantum simulators were found to be in excellent agreement with experimental *** of 17 and 88 mHa with respect to exact energies were found for excited states by using the qEOm-VQE and VQD algorithms,respectively,to perform simulations on quantum devices without error *** utilizing state tomography to purify the quantum states and correct energy values,the large errors found for unmitigated results could be improved to differences of,at most,4 mHa with respect to exact ***,excellent agreement could be found between values ofΔEST predicted by quantum simulations and those found in experiments.

AIm: To evaluate the neuroprotective effect of a dietary supplement(ClearVision EX~?;CV) against glutamateinduced excitotoxicity in ***: We evaluated the protective effects CV on glutamate-induced cell toxicity of an immortalized mouse hippocampal cell line(HT-22) in vitro and N-methyl-Daspartate(NmDA) induced retinal injury in vivo. Once-daily oral administration of CV or vehicle(5% Arabic gum) was started the day before the NmDA injection and continued until the end of the study. Electroretinograms(ERGs) were recorded to evaluate the retinal function at 2 d after NmDA injection. Furthermore, a histological evaluation, Western blot analysis, and immunohistochemistry were performed for assessing the signal transduction pathway. RESULTS: HT-22 cell death was induced by the addition of glutamate and co-incubation with CV protected against it. Oral administration of CV inhibited the decrease in scotopic threshold response amplitudes induced by the intravitreal injection of NmDA and those of the thickness of the inner retinal layer in the histological evaluation. The increased phosphorylated levels of extracellular signalregulated kinase(ERK) but not cAmP response element binding protein(CREB) or Akt were observed 1 h after NmDA injection in both the vehicle-and CV-treated rats;however, p ERK activation was no more upregulated at 3 h after NmDA injection. pERK upregulation was observed in müller ***: CV shows a protective effect against both glutamate-induced HT-22 cell death and NmDAinduced retinal damage. pERK upregulation in the müller cells plays a key role in the protective effect of CV against glutamate-induced retinal toxicity.

OsIDD2, a zinc finger and INDETERmINATE DOmAIN protein, regulates secondary cell wall formation

Previously, we found 123 transcription factors（TFs） as candidate regulators of secondary cell wall（SCW）formation in rice by using phylogenetic and co-expression network analyses. Among them, we examined in this work the role of OsIDD_2, a zinc finger and indeterminate domain（IDD） family TF. Its overexpressors showed dwarfism, fragile leaves, and decreased lignin content, which are typical phenotypes of plants defective in SCW formation, whereas its knockout plants showed slightly increased lignin *** RNA-seq and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction analyses confirmed that some lignin biosynthetic genes were downregulated in the OsIDD_2-overexpressing plants, and revealed the same case for other genes involved in cellulose synthesis and sucrose metabolism. The transient expression assay using rice protoplasts revealed that OsIDD_2 negatively regulates the transcription of genes involved in lignin biosynthesis, cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase 2 and 3（CAD_2 and 3）, and sucrose metabolism, sucrose synthase 5（SUS_5）, whereas an Alpha Screen assay, which can detect the interaction between TFs and their target DNA sequences, directly confirmed the interaction between OsIDD_2 and the target sequences located in the promoter regions of CAD_2 and CAD_3. Based on these observations, we conclude that OsIDD_2 is negatively involved in SCW formation and other biological events by downregulating its target genes.

＜正＞Recent advanced techniques in molecular biology have facilitated the dissection of many genetic traits in animals. One of the most important tools of these techniques is genetic linkage maps based on DNA markers such as microsatellite markers. The genetic markers mapped on a linkage map can be used to analyze the quantitative trait loci （QTL） responsible for economically important traits such as disease resistance, growth, and fecundity. In addition, genetic linkage maps also facilitate the positional cloning of functional genes contributing to the quantitative traits. mapping and identifying the genetic markers linked to economically important traits is critical for marker-assisted breeding. marker-assisted breeding such as marker-assisted selection （mAS） and marker-assisted gene introgression （mAI） are highly expected to improve the selective breeding programs of aquaculture species. In this paper, we introduce a comprehensive strategy for selective breeding by integrating molecular markers, genetic linkage maps, and QTL data that have been reported in aquaculture species.

Evapotranspiration Characteristics of a Lowland Dry Evergreen Forest in Central Cambodia Examined Using a multilayer model

Development pressure has led to serious deforestation on the Indochina Peninsula. Particularly rapid defor-estation has occurred in easily accessible lowland areas, and it is thus important to accumulate knowledge about these forests immediately. We measured evapotranspiration rates for a lowland dry evergreen forest in Kampong Thom Province, central Cambodia, using the energy balance Bowen ratio (EBBR) method based on meteorological data collected from a 60-m-high observation tower. Daily evapotranspiration was higher during the dry season than during the rainy season of the Asian monsoon climate. The seasonal variation in evapotranspiration generally corresponded to the seasonal difference in the vapor pressure deficit. A multi-layer model was used to simulate the seasonal variation in evapotranspiration. The multilayer model also reproduced the larger evapotranspiration rate in the dry season than in the rainy season. However, observed values substantially exceeded model-calculated results during certain periods at the beginning of the dry season and in the late dry season. moreover, during the rainy season, the model tended to overestimate evapotranspiration. The differences between these observed and simulated values may have been caused by seasonal characteristics of photosynthesis and transpiration in the lowland dry evergreen forest that were not considered in the model simulation.

质量损失与冷害症状在新鲜农产品冷藏过程中经常发生,并会导致园艺产业巨大的经济损失。本试验分别研究了三种园艺产品,茄子(Solanum melongena)、日本芜青(Brassica rapa)和无花果(Ficus carica)在用两种类型加湿器制造的相对湿度为95%、温度分别为5.5℃和7℃的环境下贮藏10、6和8 d的贮藏品质。由纳米加湿器生成的水雾粒子平均直径小于100 nm,而由超声波加湿器生成的水雾粒子平均直径为216 nm。结果表明,纳米加湿器处理的日本芜菁、茄子和无花果样品的失重率分别为3.7%、5.3%和8.8%,超声波加湿器处理三种样品的失重率分别为7.3%、8.5%和14.7%。在纳米水雾贮藏室内放置的茄子果实的冷害指数要低于在超声波加湿环境中贮藏的果实。纳米水雾中的日本芜菁和无花果的气孔相比其初始状态下分别关闭了34.7μm2和51.5μm2,而在超声波水雾中则分别关闭了15.8μm2和25.5μm2。在纳米水雾中贮藏的日本芜菁的颜色要比在超声波水雾中贮藏的芫菁更绿。
