Coupled alkali feldspar dissolution and secondary mineral precipitation in batch systems: 5. Results of K-feldspar hydrolysis experiments

This paper explores how dissolution and precipitation reactions are coupled in batch reactor experimental systems at elevated temperatures. This is the fifth paper in our series of ‘‘Coupled Alkali Feldspar Dissolution and Secondary Mineral Precipitation in Batch Systems.'' In the previous four papers we presented batch experiments of alkali-feldspar hydrolysis and explored the coupling of dissolution and precipitation reactions(Fu et al. in Chem Geol91:955–964, 2009; Zhu and lu in Geochim Cosmochim Acta 73:3171–3200, 2009; Zhu et *** Geochim Cosmochim Acta 74:3963–3983, 2010; lu et al. in Appl Geochem30:75–90, 2013). Here, we present the results of additionalK-rich feldspar hydrolysis experiments at 150 °C. Our solution chemistry measurements have constrained feldspar dissolution rates, and our high resolution transmission electron microscopy work has identified boehmite precipitation. Reaction path modeling of K-feldspar dissolution and boehmite precipitation simulated the coupled reactions, but only with forced changes of boehmite rate law in the middle of experimental duration. The results which are reported in this article lend further support to our hypothesis that slow secondary mineral precipitation explains part of the wellknown apparent discrepancy between lab measured and field estimated feldspar dissolution rates(Zhu et al. in Water–rock interaction, 2004).

To protect personal privacy and confidential preservation,access control is used to authorize legal users for safe browsing the authorized contents on *** access control generates an authorization rule according to each permission ***,the general access control is inappropriate to apply in some social services(e.g.,photos posted on Flickr and Instagram,personal image management in mobile phone) because of the increasing popularity of digital images being stored and *** low maintenance loads,this paper integrates the data hiding technique to propose an access control mechanism for privacy *** proposed scheme changes the partial regions of a given image as random pads (called selective image encryption) and only allows the authorized people to remedy the random pads back to meaningful ones which are with similar visual qualities of original ones.

To find out the critical damage temperature of tea leaf,a new method of subzero treatment was provided by fitting the air temperature data from six heavy frost ***,the study explored the characteristics of Fuding Dabai tea plant response to low temperature stress of 2,0,2,4,8,10 and15C by observing the microstructure and ultrastructure changes of the *** samples were collected in an ambient temperature of 8.6C which served as *** electron microscopy(SEM)and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)were used to observe the microstructure and ultrastructure of stomata and *** observation results indicated that stomata of tea leaves have an obvious low temperature stress when the temperature was lower than2*** extent of opening of the stomata increased and enhanced guard cell protection of tea leaves against cold ***,dehydration,shrinkage and deformation of cells occurred as the temperature decreased from2C to15*** observations showed that the cell nucleus,cell walls,chloroplasts and mitochondria all had normal structure at a temperature of 8.6C where the membrane and granum lamella were clearly *** the temperature decreased to2C,the membrane system of tea leaf was the first to be damaged and the cell walls became ***,the leaf microstructure and ultrastructure showed obvious changes at2C,which might define the critical damage temperature for freeze damage of Fuding Dabai *** strategy based this critical damage temperature is useful for wind machine frost protection in tea fields within the Yangtze River region.

Knowledge of nutrients effect on freezing tolerance is vital for protecting tea plants against cold injury(CI).Freezing injury treatments on tea leaves with different low temperature and nitrogen(N)concentration was evaluated by hyperspectral imaging based on the reflectance as potential analytical ***,quantitative evaluation of the CI was improved by comparing analyzed results using partial least squares regression(PLSR),principle component regression(PCR)and linear model(LM)*** of the CI was obtained by hyperspectral imaging system in the band between 871 and 1766 *** results showed that average reflectance increases with the rise of N concentration.A substantial portion of the leaf from the plant with 100%N dosage had the darkest image and resulted in the highest reflectance because the N weakened the negative effect of freezing *** of the five spectral domains tested,the best predictive accuracy for the CI of the tea leaf was achieved by PCR(R^(2)=0.9971,RMSE=0.0609)in 1410–1766 nm wavelength,followed by LM(R^(2)=0.9999,RMSE=0.0805)in 871–1000 *** whole interval had the worse prediction accuracy which could be caused by large variations in the data for a specific treatment and high absorption peak occurring around 1450 nm in the reflectance *** averages,R^(2) and RMSE for all the three statistical models showed that the worse prediction accuracy occurred in 1410–1766 nm,followed by the whole interval 871–1766 *** prediction accuracy was low which could be due to the strong water absorption peaks that appeared in both range of *** models without absorption bands had improved correlation coefficient and reduced RMSE values between the measured and the predicted CI(R^(2)=0.9676;RMSE=0.3067)compared to the model developed with the reflectance values in the entire waveband(R^(2)=0.9504;RMSE=0.6629).The reflectance values where absorption bands occurred had detrimental effect on the model performance,which

The increased level of chromosome instability in cancer cells,leading to aneuploidy and gross chromosomal rearrangements,is not only a driving force for oncogenesis but also can be the Achille’s heel of the disease since many chemotherapies(CT)kill cells by inducing a non-tolerable rate of DNA damage.A wealth of published evidence showed that telomere stability can be more affected than the bulk of the genome by several conventional antineoplasic *** results raise the interesting possibility that CT with genotoxic drugs preferentially target *** agreement with this view,accelerated shortening of telomere length has been described in blood lineage cells following high-dose CT(stem cell transplantation)or non-myeloablative ***,almost nothing is known on the consequences of this shortening in terms of telomere stability,senescence and on the development of second cancers or post-treatment aging-like syndromes in cancer survivors(cognitive defect,fertility impairment,etc.).In this article,we propose:(1)telomeres of cancer cells are preferential genomic targets of chemotherapies altering chromosome maintenance;(2)telomere functional parameters can be a surrogate marker of chemotherapy sensitivity and toxicity;(3)the use of anti-telomere molecule could greatly enhance the sensitivity to standards chemotherapies.

Anlotinib has strong antiangiogenic effects and leads to vessel ***,the“window period”characteristic in regulating vessel normalization by anlotinib cannot fully explain the long-term survival benefits achieved through combining it with other *** this study,through RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)and label-free quantitative proteomics analysis,we discovered that anlotinib regulated the expression of components of the extracellular matrix(ECM),leading to a significant reduction in ECM *** bioinformatic analysis revealed a potential positive relationship between the ECM pathway and gefitinib resistance,poor treatment outcomes for programmed death 1(PD-1)targeting,and unfavourable prognosis following chemotherapy in lung cancer *** administered anlotinib in combination with these antitumour drugs and visualized their distribution using fluorescent labelling in various tumour ***,our results demonstrated that anlotinib prolonged the retention time and distribution of antitumour drugs at the tumour ***,the combination therapy induced notable loosening of the tumour tissue *** reduction was associated with decreased interstitial fluid pressure and tumour solid ***,we observed that anlotinib effectively suppressed the Ras homologue family member A(RhoA)/Rho-associated protein kinase(ROCK)signalling *** findings suggest that,in addition to its antiangiogenic and vessel normalization effects,anlotinib can increase the distribution and retention of antitumour drugs in tumours by modulating ECM expression and physical properties through the RhoA/ROCK signalling *** valuable insights contribute to the development of combination therapies aimed at improving tumour targeting in cancer treatment.

Gas-solid flow regimes have a significant impact on particle transport and separation in a fluidized bed *** this study,to determine flow regime transitions in gas-solid fluidized beds,an acoustic technique was used to detect and analyze the behavior of gas and *** complexity,fluctuation complexity,and Shannon entropy analyses of acoustic emission signals were performed to examine non linear system characteristics,and to determine the flow regime transiti on velocities uc,uk,and ufd-Moreover,using the standard deviation of pressure signals,pressure measurements and acoustic measurements were *** relative deviations(RDs)between the experimental and empirical values of uk were 8.8%,13.7%,8.8%,and 30.4%for the algorithm complexity,fluctuation complexity,Shannon entropy,and pressure signal standard deviation,respectively,while the respective RDs for Ufd were 15.7%,23.9%,15.7%,and 97.8%.The RDs between the experimental and empirical values of uc were all 6.4%.The experimental values obtained from acoustic signal measurements were therefore closer to the empirical *** summary,the integration of non-intrusive acoustic measurements,complexity analysis,and Shannon entropy analysis is suitable for identifying flow regime transitions.

Confronted with severe frost damage to plants,methods,technologies and equipment have been developed and applied during the past *** paper presents a comprehensive review on the most effective and active technology to protect plants from radiation frost based on air disturbance *** working principle of the technology was elaborated with frost protection mechanism,structures and applicability of three types of working patterns:conventional wind machines,selective inverted sink and portable vertical *** an automatic mechanized technology,control strategy,applicable occasion and proper parameters are introduced for each type of working *** operation of the technology and equipment depends on plant critical temperature,prevailing climatic conditions,thermal inversions strength,as well as *** frost protection performance and effectiveness of conventional horizontal wind machines,selective inverted sinks and helicopters are discussed and compared from the cost-effectiveness and application aspects,and the feasibility of selective inverted sinks is still ***,conventional wind machines are the best choice for plant frost protection and consequently are widely used in temperate and subtropical areas throughout the *** frost protection application with helicopters is not easy to use during the frost nights with high *** paper also provides researchers with some perspectives on improving air disturbance technology and its equipment,and some practice recommendations for growers.
