New coronavirus referred to SARS-CoV-2 has caused a worldwide pandemic(COVID-19)declared by *** disease 2019(COVID-19)is an infectious disease with severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by coronavirus-2(SARS-CoV-2).SARS-CoV-2 is akin to SARS-CoV,which was the causative agent of severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)in 2002 as well as to that of Middle East respiratory syndrome(MERS)in ***-CoV-2 has been revealed to belong to Coronaviridiae family as a member ofβ-*** has a positive-sense single-stranded RNA with the largest RNA *** its genomic sequence has a notable similarity to that of SARS-CoV,antiviral drugs used to treat SARS and MERS are now being also applied for COVID-19 *** order to combat SARS-CoV-2,many drug and vaccine development studies at experimental and clinical levels are currently conducted *** this sense,medicinal plants and the pure natural molecules isolated from plants have been reported to exhibit significant inhibitory antiviral activity against SARS-CoV and other types of *** the present review,plant extracts and natural molecules with the mentioned activity are discussed in order to give inspiration to researchers to take these molecules into consideration against SARS-CoV-2.

Objective:To explore some Fumaria species which were recorded to be traditionally used against malaria and other protozoal ***:Consequently,in the current study,antiprotozoal effect of the ethanol extracts obtained from five Fumaria species(Fumaria densiflora,Fumaria cilicica,Fumaria rostellata,Fumaria kralikii,and Fumaria parviflora)was investigated against the parasites;Plasmodium falciparum(malaria)and Trypanosoma bruceirhodesiense(human African trypanosomiasis)at 0.81 and 4.85μg/mL ***:Among them,Fumaria densiflora extract exerted the highest antiplasmodial(93.80%)and antitrypanasomal effect(55.40%),while the ethanol extracts of Fumaria kralikii(43.45%)and Fumaria rostellata(41.65%)showed moderate activity against Plasmodium ***,phenolic acid contents of the extracts were analyzed using high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)and trans-cinnamic(4.32 mg/g)and caffeic(3.71 mg/g)acids were found to be the dominant phenolic acids in Fumaria ***:According to our results,Fumaria densiflora deserve further study for its promising antiprotozoal activity.

Objective:To explore cholinesterase inhibitory and antioxidant effect of six coniferous trees(Abies bornmulleriana,Picea pungens,Juniperus communis,Cedrus libani,Taxus baccata,and Cupressus sempervirens ***).Methods:Acetone(Ace),ethyl acetate(EtOAc),and ethanol(EtOH)extracts prepared from the needles and shoots of the six coniferous trees were screened for their acetylcholinesterase(AChE)and butyrylcholinesterasc(BChE)inhibitory activity at 100μg/*** activity of the extracts was tested using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)and N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylendiamine(DMPD)radical scavenging,nietal-chelation capacity,ferric-(FRAP)and phosphomolibdenum-reducing antioxidant power(PRAP)*** of the assays were performed in ELISA microplate *** phenol and flavonoid amounts in the extracts were determined ***:Among thirty-six extracts in total,the shoot-Ace extract of Cupressus sempervirens *** exerted the highest inhibition against AChE[(54.84±2.51)%],while the needle-Ace extract of Cedrus libani was the most effective in inhibiting BChE[(67.54±0.30)%].The highest DPPH radical scavenging effect,FRAP and PRAP was observed in the shoot-Ace and EtOAc extracts from Taxus *** all the extracts showed a variable degree of scavenging effect against DPMD *** shoot-EtOAc extract of Cedrus libani had the highest metalchelation capacity[(58.04±0.70)%].The shoot extracts of Taxus baccata were determined to have the richest total phenol content,which may contribute to its marked antioxidant ***:The conifer species screened in this study may contain cholinesterase-inhibiting and antioxidant properties,which might be useful against Alzheimer's disease.

We investigated the antioxidant potential and cytotoxicity towards human CCRF-CEM leukemia cells of 57 extracts obtained from 18 plants collected in the Erkowit region,eastern *** antioxidant activity was determined by measuring the radical scavenging effects against 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH)and N,N-dimethyl-p-phenylendi-amine(DMPD),metal-chelation capacity,ferric-reducing(FRAP)and phosphomolibdenum-reducing antioxidant power(PRAP)methods using ELISA microtiter *** phenol and flavonoid amounts of the extracts were determined *** towards CCRF-CEM cells was evaluated by the resazurin reduction *** favosum followed by Kalanchoe glaucescens,Malva parviflora,Aizoon canariense,and Coleus barbatus,respectively,possessed the highest antioxidant activity among the studied *** oblongifolia and *** exerted considerable cytotoxicity against CCRF-CEM leukemia *** plants may serve as source for the further development of natural antioxidant and antitumor agents.

Background: Epstein Barr Virus infection (EBV) could be associated with cardiovascular disease, including myocarditis. We informed a case of EBV infection presenting initially as myocarditis, followed 5 days later by the typical symptoms of infectious mononucleosis. Case Presentation: A 19-year-old man with persistent retrosternal chest pain was admitted to the emergency department. On physical examination, the patient had sub-febrile fever (37.2°C) and palpable cervical lymphadenopathy, with no hepatosplenomegaly. Initial ECG has repolarization abnormalities in leads II, aVF and III. Laboratory testing revealed elevated cardiac enzymes and liver enzymes (high sensitive troponin I levels 3000 ng/mL, aspartate transaminase 158 U/L, alanine transaminase 100 U/L). Blood white cells were 10,500 μL, platelet level were low 98,000 (thrombocytopenia), and lenfo-monocytosis in complete blood count. We hospitalized the patients the intensive coronary unit (ICU) because of high troponin levels. We recognized hypokinesia of the posterolateral wall of the left ventricle with mild impaired systolic function and increased perimyocardial brightness by echocardiography. Antibody serology tests showed that the anti-EBV capsid antigen IgM (EBV-VCA) was positive, EBV-VCA) IgG was negative. Other etiologies were excluded. Therefore, the patient was referred to cardiac positron emission tomography due to technic problems of magnetic resonance imaging device. We documented in positron emission tomography imaging that increased 18F-FDG uptake on posterior and posterolateral walls of left ventricle (indicating a large jeopardized area). We diagnosed suspected diagnosis of myocarditis without associated pericarditis. We monitored the patient and gave beta blocker, and aldosterone antagonists. Complications in the intensive care unit not occurred. We discharged patients after one week. After three weeks, we re-evaluated the patient. We not observed wall segment motion abnormality

·AIM: To describe the clinical characteristics of Turkish patients with intermediate uveitis(IU) and to investigate the effect of clinical findings and complications on final visual acuity(VA).·METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of patients with IU who had at least 6mo of follow-up and were older than 16 y.· RESULTS: A total of 78 eyes of 45 patients were included in the study and the mean follow-up period was19.4mo. The mean age at the time of presentation was42.9s. Systemic disease associations were found in17.7% of cases; sarcoidosis(8.8%) and multiple sclerosis(6.6%) were the most common diseases. Recurrence rate(odds ratio=45.53; 95%CI: 2.181-950.58), vitritis equals to or more than 3+ cells(odds ratio =57.456; 95%CI: 4.154-794.79) and presenting with VA less than 20/40(odds ratio =43.81; 95% CI: 2.184-878.71) were also found as high risk factors for poor final VA. At the last follow-up examination, 67.9% of eyes had VA of 20/40 or better.·CONCLUSION: IU is frequently seen at the beginning of the fourth decade of life. The disease is most commonly idiopathic in adult Turkish patients. Patients with severe vitritis at presentation and patients with frequent recurrences are at high risk for poor visual outcome.

Precise point positioning with ambiguity resolution(PPP-AR)is a powerful tool for geodetic and time-constrained applications that require high *** performance of PPP-AR highly depends on the reliability of the correct integer carrier-phase ambiguity *** this study,the performance of narrow-lane ambiguity resolution of PPP using the Least-squares AMBiguity Decorrelation(LAMBDA)and bootstrapping methods is extensively investigated using real data from 55 IGS stations over one-month in *** PPP with 24-,12-,8-,4-,2-,1-and½-h sessions using two different cutoff angles(7°and 30°)was conducted with three PPP modes:***-float and two kinds of ambiguity-fixed PPP using the LAMBDA and bootstrapping methods for narrow-lane AR,*** results show that the LAMBDA method can produce more reliable results for 2 hour and shorter observation sessions com-pared with the bootstrapping method using a 7°cutoff *** a 30°cutoff angle,the LAMBDA method outperforms the bootstrapping method for observation sessions of 4 h and *** long observation times,the bootstrapping method produced much more accurate coordinates compared with the LAMBDA method without considering the wrong fixes *** results also show that occurrences of fixing the wrong integer ambiguities using the bootstrapping method are higher than that of the LAMBDA method.

This paper uses a probabilistic voting model to investigate voting for a free-trade agreement between a labor-abundant country and a capital-abundant country. Migration from the labor-abundant country to the capital-abundant country increases the probability of a free-trade agreement, with lower migration costs leading to more migration and a higher free-trade probability. On the other hand, if a lower probability of free trade is caused by an increased voter bias against free-trade candidates, then there is less migration. A dynamic extension of the model is also investigated.
