Corrosion Protection of 5083 AA in SalineWater by Polyacrylonitrile Nanofibers

Polymeric nanofibers are a promising technology to protect the metal surfaces from *** the literature search,the use of polyacrylonitrile nanofibres(PANNFs)as a corrosion inhibitor coating for aluminum alloys has not been *** work includes the development of a new,lightweight,high surface area and efficient coating of PANNFs that produced using electrospinning process to resist the corrosion of aluminum alloys(AA5083)which immersed in 0.6 M NaCl at alkaline medium(ph=12)and acidic medium(ph=1)at a range of temperatures(293–323)*** PANNFs coating was successfully deposited on AA 5083 specimens,where these samples were considered as a collector electrode in the electrospinning *** corrosion experiments of the aluminum alloys coated with PANNFs before and after immersion in both corrosive mediums were investigated using cyclic potential polarization(CPP).The results confirmed that the PANNFs coating was able to protect the surface of the aluminum specimens from corrosion,by reducing the corrosion current and increasing the surface polarization resistance,thus reducing the corrosion *** protection efficiency was found in the alkaline medium 98.8%while in the acidic medium 83.3%.So,it was in both mediums decreased with the increase in *** shape,distribution and size of the polymeric nanofibers that formed the coating were also examined using field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)and the percentages of the structural components of these fibers were detected using the X-ray dispersion spectroscopy(EDS).The surface of aluminum specimens was completely covered by *** electrospun nanofibers have worn out and lined up spacing after immersion in the corrosive *** diameters average of PANNFs was found to be about 200 and 150 nm before and after immersion,respectively.

Phosphoric Acid Pretreatment and Saccharification of Paper Sludge as a Renewable Material for Cellulosic Fibers

Recycling of paper sludge waste is crucial for establishing a sustainable green *** waste contains valuable sugars that can be converted into important chemicals such as ethanol,poly hydroxybutyrate,and lactic ***,the main challenge in obtaining sugars in high yield from paper sludge is the high crystallinity of cellulose,which hinders *** address this,pretreatment using phosphoric acid was optimized using response surface methodology to facilitate cellulose hydrolysis with minimal energy and *** created prediction model using the response surface method considered factors such as acid concentration(ranging from 60%to 85%),consistency(ranging from 4%to 10%),temperature(ranging from 25℃to 80℃),and time(ranging from 0.5 to 4 h).The results revealed that the model’s significant factors affecting the yield were acid concentration,reaction time,temperature,and the product of acid concentration and temperature,while the model’s significant factors affecting the crystallinity were the consistency,the temperature,and their *** results showed that the optimum conditions for pretreatment were using an acid concentration of 64%,temperature of 25℃,consistency of 10%,and time of 30 *** hydrolysis of the conditionally pretreated paper sludge resulted in a weight loss of 42%,compared to only 18%weight loss in non-pretreated paper ***,the optimized conditions led to low levels of furfurals and acetic acid,which are undesirable by-products that can interfere with sugar *** total sugar obtained under the optimized conditions was 0.43 g glucose/g sample(10.46 g/L),while the contents of methyl furfural,furfural,and acetic acid were 21.65,235.7,and 4.57 mg/L,*** study demonstrates the potential of phosphoric acid for pretreatment and hydrolysis of paper sludge,enabling efficient saccharification and the production of sugars with minimal undesired by-products.

Therapeutic potential of Calotropis gigantea extract against invasive pulmonary aspergillosis:In vitro and in vivo study

Objective:To characterize the antifungal activity of methanolic leaf extract of Calotropis gigantea alone or in combination with amphotericin B against invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in ***:GC/MS was used for analysis of active constituents of Calotropis gigantea *** germination assay and broth micro-dilution method were used to determine antifungal potential of Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B against Aspergillus *** mice were randomly assigned into 5 groups:group 1 was neutropenic(control);group 2 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus;group 3 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus,and treated with Calotropis gigantea extract;group 4 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus and treated with amphotericin B;group 5 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus and treated with both Calotropis gigantea extract and amphotericin *** lung tissues were histopathologically *** burden and gliotoxin concentration were evaluated in lung ***,superoxide dismutase,and malondialdehyde content were determined in lung ***,tumor necrosis factor-alpha,interleukin-1,and interleukin-17 were also estimated by the sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent ***:Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B had a minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum fungicidal concentration of 80 and 160μg/mL,respectively,for Aspergillus ***,Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B significantly reduced lung fungal burden by 72.95%and inhibited production of gliotoxin in lung tissues from 6320 to 1350μg/g *** gigantea/amphotericin B reduced the oxidative stress of the lung via elevating the activity of antioxidant enzymes and decreasing the levels of lipid *** activity and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines were also significantly *** electron microscopy revealed deteriorations in the hyphae ultrastructure in Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B trea

Budd-Chiari syndrome associated with coeliac disease:case report and literature review

We report a case of Budd-Chiari syndrome occurring in a patient with coeliac disease,who presented with symptoms of increased abdominal girth,right upper quadrant pain and shortness of breath for three weeks prior to *** assessment revealed the presence of moderate ascites,hepatosplenomegaly and right-sided pleural *** diagnostic work-up established a diagnosis of chronic Budd-Chiari ***,complete screening for pro-thrombotic factors was negative.A review of the literature on this association disclosed only 28 similar cases,with the majority of them describing individuals of North African ***,in the majority of cases no specific thrombotic factor could be identified,suggesting that coeliac disease may play a role in this thrombotic disorder.

Comparing the efficiency of artificial neural networks in sEMG-based simultaneous and continuous estimation of hand kinematics

Surface Electromyography(sEMG)plays a key role in many applications such as control of human-Machine Interfaces(hMI)and neuromusculoskeletal *** has strongly nonlinear relations to joint kinematics and reflects the subjects’intention in moving their *** relations have been traditionally examined by either integrated biomechanics and multi-body dynamics or gesture-based classification ***,these methods have drawbacks that limit their *** from them,joint kinematics can be continuously reconstructed from sEMG via estimation approaches,for instance,the Artificial Neural Networks(ANNs).The Comparison of different ANNs used in different studies is difficult,and in many cases,*** current study focuses on fairly evaluating four types of ANN over the same dataset and conditions in proportional and simultaneous estimation of 15 hand joint angles from 10 sEMG *** presented ANNs are Feedforward,Cascade-Forward,Radial Basis Function(RBFNN),and Generalized Regression(GRNN).Each ANN is applied to its special parametric *** the methods efficiently solved the regression problem of the complex multi-input multi-output *** RBFNN has the best performance over the others with a 79.80%mean correlation coefficient over all joints,and its accuracy reaches as high as 92.67%in some ***,the highest accuracy over individual joints is 93.46%,which is achieved via the *** good accuracy suggests that the proposed approaches can be used as alternatives to the previously adopted ones and can be employed effectively to synchronously control multi-degrees of freedom hMI and for general multi-joint kinematics estimation purposes.

Securing digital data from unauthorized access throughout its entire lifecycle has been always a critical concern.A robust data security system should protect the information assets of any organization against cybercriminal *** Twofish algorithm is one of the well-known symmetric key block cipher cryptographic algorithms and has been known for its rapid *** when it comes to security,it is not the preferred cryptographic algorithm to use compared to other algorithms that have shown better *** applications and social platforms have adopted other symmetric key block cipher cryptographic algorithms such as the Advanced Encryption Standard(AES)algorithm to construct their main security *** this paper,a new modification for the original Twofish algorithm is proposed to strengthen its security and to take advantage of its fast *** new algorithm has been named Split-n-Swap(SnS).Performance analysis of the new modification algorithm has been performed using different measurement *** experimental results show that the complexity of the SnS algorithm exceeds that of the original Twofish algorithm while maintaining reasonable values for encryption and decryption times as well as memory utilization.A detailed analysis is given with the strength and limitation aspects of the proposed algorithm.

Ensemble Machine Learning to Enhance Q8 Protein Secondary Structure Prediction

Protein structure prediction is one of the most essential objectives practiced by theoretical chemistry and bioinformatics as it is of a vital importance in medicine,biotechnology and *** secondary structure prediction(PSSP)has a significant role in the prediction of protein tertiary structure,as it bridges the gap between the protein primary sequences and tertiary structure *** secondary structures are classified into two categories:3-state category and 8-state *** the 3 states and the 8 states of secondary structures from protein sequences are called the Q3 prediction and the Q8 prediction problems,*** 8 classes of secondary structures reveal more precise structural information for a variety of applications than the 3 classes of secondary structures,however,Q8 prediction has been found to be very challenging,that is why all previous work done in PSSP have focused on Q3 *** this paper,we develop an ensemble Machine Learning(ML)approach for Q8 PSSP to explore the performance of ensemble learning algorithms compared to that of individual ML algorithms in Q8 *** ensemble members considered for constructing the ensemble models are well known classifiers,namely SVM(Support Vector Machines),KNN(K-Nearest Neighbor),DT(Decision Tree),RF(Random Forest),and NB(Naïve Bayes),with two feature extraction techniques,namely LDA(Linear Discriminate Analysis)and PCA(Principal Component Analysis).Experiments have been conducted for evaluating the performance of single models and ensemble models,with PCA and LDA,in Q8 *** novelty of this paper lies in the introduction of ensemble learning in Q8 PSSP *** experimental results confirmed that ensemble ML models are more accurate than individual ML *** also indicated that features extracted by LDA are more effective than those extracted by PCA.
