Biosensors are a type of important biodevice that integrate biological recognition elements, such as enzyme,antibody and DNA, and physical or chemical transducers, which have revolutionized clinical diagnosis especially under the context of point-of-care tests. Since the performance of a biosensor depends largely on the bio–solid interface, design and engineering of the interface play a pivotal role in developing quality biosensors. Along this line, a number of strategies have been developed to improve the homogeneity of the interface or the precision in regulating the interactions between biomolecules and the interface. Especially,intense efforts have been devoted to controlling the surface chemistry, orientation of immobilization,molecular conformation and packing density of surface-confined biomolecular probes(proteins and nucleic acids). By finely tuning these surface properties, through either gene manipulation or self-assembly, one may reduce the heterogeneity of self-assembled monolayers, increase the accessibility of target molecules and decrease the binding energy barrier to realize high sensitivity and specificity. In this review, we summarize recent progress in interfacial engineering of biosensors with particular focus on the use of protein and DNA nanostructures. These biomacromolecular nanostructures with atomistic precision lead to highly regulated interfacial assemblies at the nanoscale. We further describe the potential use of the high-performance biosensors for precision diagnostics.

In this paper, the Fokas unified method is used to analyze the initial-boundary value for the ChenLee-Liu equation i？tu ＋？xxu-i｜u2｜？xu = 0 on the half line（-∞, 0] with decaying initial value. Assuming that the solution u（x, t） exists, we show that it can be represented in terms of the solution of a matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem formulated in the plane of the complex spectral parameter λ. The jump matrix has explicit（x, t） dependence and is given in terms of the spectral functions{a（λ）, b（λ）}and{A（λ）, B（λ）}, which are obtained from the initial data u0（x） = u（x, 0） and the boundary data g0（t） = u（0, t）, g1（t） = ux（0, t）, respectively. The spectral functions are not independent,but satisfy a so-called global relation.

Cell membrane integrity is fundamental to the normal activities of cells and is involved in both acute and chronic pathologies.Here,we report a probe for analyzing cell membrane integrity developed from a 9 nm-sized protein nanocage named Dps via fluorophore conjugation with high spatial precision to avoid self-quenching.The probe cannot enter normal live cells but can accumulate in dead or live cells with damaged membranes,which,interestingly,leads to weak cytoplasmic and strong nuclear staining.This differential staining is found attributed to the high affinity of Dps for histones rather than DNA,providing a staining mechanism different from those of known membrane exclusion probes(MEPs).Moreover,the Dps nanoprobe is larger in size and thus applies a more stringent criterion for identifying severe membrane damage than currently available MEPs.This study shows the potential of Dps as a new bioimaging platform for biological and medical analyses.

中华民族共同体意识拥有稳固的历史根基。秦汉时期形成了中华民族凝聚的核心,并对周边族群产生虹吸效应;魏晋南北朝时期随着华夏周边族群进入中原,引发北方地区族群间的激烈竞争,最终族群融合成为一种发展趋势;盛唐时期,踵继前代而又别有发明,超越原生族群,基于政治一体化、共有文化价值观和紧密经济文化联系的共同体意识不断增强,成为中华民族共同体意识发展的第一个高潮时期,奠定了中华民族的历史根基。是遵从中华意识,还是强化原生族群意识,成为后世统一与分裂的重要思想根源。

歌德步施勒策尔和维兰德后尘,在1827年提出了世界文学概念,这通常被认为是欧洲人构建全球多元文学谱系意识的开端,也被认为隐含着西方中心论的倾向。然而,在此之前,欧洲人不仅已经积累了有关世界不同民族文化的知识,也见证了第一次系统性突破东西方文化分野的世界文学实践。18世纪初期,法国东方学家迦兰和叙利亚人迪亚卜合作,对《一千零一夜》进行了翻译与改写,这部译作在欧洲引发了前所未有的东方故事热潮,推动欧洲启蒙时代叙事文学在对普遍人性与民族文化差异的关注中实现了自身的现代转型。《一千零一夜》在欧洲的译介,一方面有着比歌德以来存在争议的世界文学概念更为丰富的内涵和启示意义,另一方面其引发的东方文学热潮和对欧洲文学的影响也是歌德得以提出世界文学概念的关键语境,它标志着世界文学的诞生。

Error Control Strategy in Ultrasonic Body Area Networks

Recently,ultrasonic waves had been introduced as the transmission medium in Body Area Networks(BANs) to reduce the incalculable damage caused by radio waves. However,the communications based on ultrasonic waves suffer from poor propagation of signals in air and consume too much energy. To address these limitations,firstly,we make the theoretical analysis to ensure ultrasonic waves could be used in BANs(UBANs). Then,we propose an error control strategy in UBANs to dynamically adjust the error control scheme and the Max-Retries based on the current channel state,which is called UECS. The UECS is based on IEEE 802.15.6 standards and considering the characteristics of ultrasonic waves in BANs. Simulation results show that UECS achieves better performance in terms of packet delivery ratio and energy consumption compared with the traditional strategies.

中国边疆学学科体系建设目前面临的主要问题是,没有完全摆脱研究领域的影响,未能从人才培养、学科知识体系建设、推进边疆问题研究等角度思考一级、二级学科规划,特别是回避了与现有学科体系对接的问题。从边疆研究的问题意识、研究方法看,边疆研究要完成对边疆社会历史与现状的记录与认知,在此基础上,开展以经世致用为目的的边疆问题研究,要完成这一目标,需要历史学、考古学、地理学、社会学、文化人类学、政治学等学科理论与方法的综合利用。由此再与现有学科体系对接,则中国边疆学应为交叉学科门类下一级学科,其下再设中国边疆历史学、中国边疆社会学、中国边疆政治学、中国边疆经济学等二级学科。

群氓与看客之辨为各个人文社会学科所关注,也是莎士比亚研究史上一个争论长达400余年的重要命题。令人感兴趣的是,鲁迅在其早年和晚年分别对同一部莎士比亚戏剧《裘力斯·凯撒》中著名的群氓场景作出了截然相反的解读——他少年期间将剧中罗马群众归约为被煽动操纵的无理性群氓,而在其晚年则将其解读为政治力量角逐博弈中的冷漠复仇看客——其启示意义不言而喻。如果从侨易学理论视野解析,这一转变与其留日、北上、赴沪等人生跋涉行旅的物质位移产生的“异质相交”以及基于此的精神质变有着密切关联。这两种互相矛盾的解读,并非全然冲突对立,而是体现了鲁迅如何还原出莎士比亚对群众现象丰富复杂的思考,从而达至变之上的恒常之境界。

Molecular mechanism of Xuebijing in treating pyogenic liver abscess complicated with sepsis

BACKGROUND:Xuebijing(XBJ)can alleviate the inflammatory response,improve organ function,and shorten the intensive care unit(ICU)stay in patients with pyogenic liver abscess(PLA)complicated with sepsis,but the molecular mechanisms have not been elucidated.This study aimed to explore the molecular mechanism of XBJ in treating PLA complicated with sepsis using a network pharmacology approach.METHODS:The active ingredients and targets of XBJ were retrieved from the ETCM database.Potential targets related to PLA and sepsis were retrieved from the GeneCards,PharmGKB,DisGenet,Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man(OMIM),Therapeutic Targets Database(TTD),and DrugBank databases.The targets of PLA complicated with sepsis were mapped to the targets of XBJ to identify potential treatment targets.Protein-protein interaction networks were analyzed using the STRING database.Potential treatment targets were imported into the Metascape platform for Gene Ontology(GO)functional enrichment and Kyoto encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment analyses.Molecular docking was performed to validate the interactions between active ingredients and core targets.RESULTS:XBJ was found to have 54 potential treatment targets for PLA complicated with sepsis.Interleukin-1β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6),and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)were identifi ed as core targets.KEGG enrichment analysis revealed important pathways,including the interleukin-17(IL-17)signaling pathway,the TNF signaling pathway,the nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathway,and the Toll-like receptor(TLR)signaling pathway.Molecular docking experiments indicated stable binding between XBJ active ingredients and core targets.CONCLUSION:XBJ may exert therapeutic eff ects on PLA complicated with sepsis by modulating signaling pathways,such as the IL-17,TNF,NF-κB,and TLR pathways,and targeting IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF.
