3D printing technologies have expanded beyond the research laboratories where they were used solely f.r prototyping and have become widely used in several *** production of.custom 3D objects has signif.cant potential in optical ***,this necessitates extremely specif.c material properties,such as transparency,homogeneity,biref.ingence,and surf.ce ***,the majority of.optical objects are manuf.ctured using ***,the 3D printing processes using polymers to produce optical objects have signif.cant advantages,such as limited wastage,short manuf.cturing time,and easy ***,despite extensive ef.orts,no technology has achieved the production of.objects perf.ctly suited f.r optical *** objective of.this review is to summarize recent advances in the f.eld of.3D printing f.r optics,with an emphasis on specif.c developments f.r dedicated applications,and to explore new candidate processes.

We constrain the multistage tectonic evolution of.the Palaeoproterozoic UHT metamorphic(P=0.9–1.0 GPa,T>1000℃,t=2088–2031 Ma)Bakhuis Granulite Belt(BGB)in Surinam on the Guiana Shield,using large-to small-scale structures,Al-in-hornblende thermobarometry and published f.uid inclusion and zircon geochronological *** BGB f.rms a narrow,NE–SW striking belt between two f.rmerly connected,~E–W oriented granite-greenstone belts,f.rmed between converging Amazonian and West Af.ican continental masses prior to collision and Transamazonian *** detrital zircon in BGB metasediments conf.rms agewise to Birimian zircon of.West Af.ica and suggests derivation f.om the subsequently subducted Af.ican passive ***-temperature metamorphism may have f.llowed slab break-of. and asthenospheric heat *** metamorphic structures result f.om layer-parallel shearing and f.lding,ref.ecting initial transtensional exhumation of.the subducted Af.ican margin af.er slab break-of..A second HT event involves intrusion,at ca.0.49 GPa,of.charnockites and metagabbros at 1993–1984 Ma and a layered anorthosite at 1980 Ma,af.er the BGB had already cooled tobend in the new margin points northward towards the BGB and is likely the result of.indentation by an anticlinorial f.exural bulge of.the subducting *** of.the subducting oceanic plate along this bulge explains why the charnockites are restricted to the *** BGB subsequently experienced doming under an extensional detachment exposed in its southwestern border *** was f.cused in the BGB as a result of.the f.exural bulge in the subducting plate and localised heating of.the overriding plate by charnockite *** present,straight NE–SW long-side boundaries of.the BGB are superimposed mylonite zones,overprinted by pseudotachylites,previously dated

The results of.mechanical testing and transmission electron microscopy on the ordered intermetallic Ll2 compounds1Zr3Al, Ni3Al, Ni3Si and Ni3Ge af.er irradiation with protons or heavy ions at high or low tem peratu re are presented and discussed. Using a minjaturjzed disk-bend test. it was f.und that proton irradiation of.Zr3Al. Ni3Al and Ni3Si raises their yield strength :a single test of.Ni3Ge shows no ef.ect on the f.acture stress of.this brittle intermetallic The Vickers microhardness of.all f.ur alloys is raised by proton irradiation. The irradiations cause all the alloys to disorder. the extent of.which is dependent on irradiation temperature Microstructural def.cts are produced by the irradiations Some exhibit strain-f.eld contrast under dynamic two-beam dif.racting conditions. Other distinct def.ct clusters are imaged only in dark-f.eld using su perlattice ref.ections, These latter def.cts are discussed in the context of.current arnorphization models. The strength increase of.Zr3Al, Ni3Al and Ni3Si is attributed to a combination of.disordering and strengthening f.om def.cts. The prolif.ration of.mobile devices in society accessing data via the ＂cloud＂ is imposing a dramatic increase in the amount of.inf.rmation to be stored on hard disk drives （HDD） used in servers. f.recasts are that areal densities will need to increase by as much as 35% compound per annum and by 2,020 cloud storage capacity will be around 7 zettabytes corresponding to areal densities of.2 Tb/in^2. This requires increased perf.rmance f.om the magnetic pole of.the electromag- netic writer in the read/write head in the HDD. Current state-of.art writing is undertaken by morphologically complex magnetic pole of.sub 100 nm dimensions, in an environment of.engineered magnetic shields and it needs to deliver strong directional magnetic f.eld to areas on the recording media around 50 nm × 13 nm. This points to the need f.r a method to perf.rm direct quantitative measurements of.the magnetic f.eld generated by the write pole at the nanometer scale. Here we report on the complete in situ quantitative mapping of.the magnetic f.eld generated by a f.nctioning write pole in operation using electron holography. The results point the way towards a new nanoscale magnetic f.eld source to f.rther develop in situ transmission electron microscopy.

A 3-D computationalf.amework was suggested to model stable growth of.a macroscopic crack under model I condition. The Gurson-Tverpaaof.dilatant plasticity model f.r voided materials describes the damage process. f.xed-sized, computational cell elements (containing voids) def.ned over a thin layer at the cmck plane simulate the ductile crack extension. Outside of.this layer, the material remains undamaged by the void growth. The micro-mechanics parumeters controlling cmck growth are the thickness Of.computational cell layen D, and the initial void porosity, f.. These parameters are calculated through analyses of.ductile tearing to match R-curve obtained f.om testing of.deep notch bend specimens f.r welded joints. The R-curve f.r the double edge notched tension specimens is eNctively predicted using these *** predicted R-curve gives a good agreement with the expemment results.

Optical coherence tomography （OCT） has gained considerable attention in interventional cardiovascular medicine and is currently used in clinical settings to assess atherosclerotic lesions and to optimize stent placement. Artery imaging at the cellular level constitutes the f.rst step towards cardiovascular molecular imaging, which represents a major advance in the development of.personalized noninvasive therapies. In this work we demonstrate that cardiovascular OCT can be used to detect individual cells suspended in biocompatible f.uids. Importantly, the combination of.this catheter-based clinical technique with gold nanoshells （GNSs） as intracellular contrast agents led to a substantial enhancement in the backscattered signal produced by individual cells. This cellular contrast enhancement was attributed to the large backscattering cross-section of.GNSs at the OCT laser wavelength （1,300 nm）. A simple intensity analysis of.OCT cross-sectional images of.suspended cells makes it possible to identif. the sub-population of.living cells that successf.lly incorporated GNSs. The generalizability of.this method was demonstrated using two dif.erent cell lines （HeLa and Jurkat cells）. This work provides novel insights into cardiovascular molecular imaging using specif.cally modif.ed GNSs.
