Accessing drinking water is a global issue. Th.s study aim. to contribute to th. assessm.nt of groundwater quality in th. m.nicipality of Za-Kpota (south.rn Benin) using rem.te sensing and m.ch.ne Learning. Th. m.th.dological approach.used consisted in linking groundwater ph.sico-ch.m.cal param.ter data collected in th. field and in th. laboratory using AFNOR 1994 standardized m.th.ds to satellite data (Landsat) in order to sketch.out a groundwater quality prediction m.del. Th. data was processed using QGis (sem.-Autom.tic Plugin: sCP) and Pyth.n (Jupyter Netebook: Prediction) softwares. Th. results of water analysis from.th. sam.led wells and boreh.les indicated th.t m.st of th. water is acidic (ph.varying between 5.59 and 7.83). Th. water was m.derately m.neralized, with.conductivity values of less th.n 1500 μs/cm.overall (59 µs/cm.to 1344 µs/cm., with.h.gh.concentrations of nitrates and ph.sph.tes in places. Th. dynam.cs of groundwater quality in th. m.nicipality of Za-Kpota between 2008 and 2022 are also m.rked by a regression in land use units (a regression in vegetation and m.rsh.and form.tion in favor of built-up areas, bare soil, crops and fallow land) revealed by th. diach.onic analysis of satellite im.ges from.2008, 2013, 2018 and 2022. surveys of local residents revealed th. use of h.rbicides and pesticides in agricultural fields, wh.ch.are th. m.in drivers contributing to th. groundwater quality deterioration observed in th. study area. Field surveys revealed th. use of h.rbicides and pesticides in agricultural fields, wh.ch.are factors contributing to th. deterioration in groundwater quality observed in th. study area. Th. results of th. groundwater quality prediction m.dels (ANN, RF and LR) developed led to th. conclusion th.t th. m.del based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANN: R2 = 0.97 and Rm.E = 0) is th. best for groundwater quality ch.nges m.delling in th. Za-Kpota m.nicipality.

BACKGROUND Kidney transplant recipients(KTR)are at risk of severe coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)disease and m.rtality after severe acute respiratory syndrom. coronavirus 2(sARs-CoV-2)*** predicted th.t h.spitalization for COVID-19 and subsequent adm.ssion to th. intensive care unit(ICU)would yield worse outcom.s in *** was stratified by ICU *** of interest included risk factors for ICU adm.ssion and m.rtality,length.of stay(LOs),respiratory sym.tom. at adm.ssion,all-cause graft failure at th. last follow-up,and death.related to *** 96 KTRs were h.spitalized for sARs-COV-2 infection.21(22%)required ICU *** ICU group h.d longer h.spital LOs(21.8 vs 8.6 days,Pm.re likely to experience graft failure(81%vs 31%,Ph.se adm.tted to th. ICU,76%h.d death.at last-follow up,and 71%h.d death.related to *** factors for ICU adm.ssion included m.le sex(ah.:3.11,95%CI:1.04-9.34;P=0.04).Risk factors for all-cause m.rtality and COVID-19-related m.rtality included ICU adm.ssion and advanced age at sARs-CoV-2 *** was h.gh.st with.n a m.nth.of COVID-19 diagnosis,with.th. Restricted fetal growth.RFG)is a leading contributor to perinatal m.rtality and h.s been associated with.gestational exposure to air pollution,such.as fine particulate m.tter(Pm.(2.5)),nitrogen dioxide(NO2),and polycyclic arom.tic h.drocarbons(PAh.).Th.s study exam.nes th. association between trim.ster-specific and weekly m.ans of air pollution th.ough.ut gestation and placental inflam.atory m.rkers at *** a prospective coh.rt study of 263 pregnant wom.n in Roch.ster,NY,we m.asured interleukin-6(IL-6)and tum.r necrosis factor-alph.(TNF-α)in placental tissue and estim.ted gestational exposure to Pm.(2.5)and NO_(2)using a h.gh.resolution spatial-tem.oral *** to PAh. was estim.ted using urinary 1-h.droxypyrene(1-Oh.)concentrations collected once per *** distributed lag m.dels with.a penalized spline function,each.interquartile range(2.6μg/m.(3))increase in Pm.(2.5)concentration during gestational weeks 6−11 was associated with.decreased placental IL-6 levels(−22.2%,95%CI:−39.0%,−0.64%).Using m.ltiple linear regression m.dels,each.interquartile range increase of 1-Oh. was associated with.an increase in TNF-αin th. first trim.ster(58.5%,95%CI:20.7%,74.2%),th.rd trim.ster(22.9%,95%CI:0.04%,49.5%),and entire pregnancy(29.6%,95%CI:3.9%,60.6%).Our results suggest gestational exposure to air pollution m.y alter th. inflam.atory environm.nt of th. placenta at delivery.

Background:Ph.siological and bioch.m.cal processes across tissues of th. body are regulated in response to th. h.gh.dem.nds of intense ph.sical activity in several occupations,such.as firefigh.ing,law enforcem.nt,m.litary,and sports.A better understanding of such.processes can ultim.tely h.lp im.rove h.m.n perform.nce and prevent illnesses in th. work ***:To study regulatory processes in intense ph.sical activity sim.lating real-life conditions,we perform.d a m.lti-om.cs analysis of 3 biofluids(blood plasm.,urine,and saliva)collected from.11 wildland firefigh.ers before and after a 45 m.n,intense exercise *** profiles ***-exercise were com.ared by student’s t-test followed by path.ay analysis and com.arison between th. different om.cs ***:Our m.lti-om.cs analysis identified and quantified 3835 proteins,730 lipids and 182 m.tabolites com.ining th. 3 different types of *** blood plasm. analysis revealed signatures of tissue dam.ge and acute repair response accom.anied by enh.nced carbon m.tabolism.to m.et energy *** urine analysis sh.wed a strong,concom.tant regulation of 6 out of 8 identified proteins from.th. renin-angiotensin system.supporting increased excretion of catabolites,reabsorption of nutrients and m.intenance of fluid *** saliva,we observed a decrease in 3 pro-inflam.atory cytokines and an increase in 8 antim.crobial peptides.A system.tic literature review identified 6 papers th.t support an altered susceptibility to respiratory ***:Th.s study sh.ws sim.ltaneous regulatory signatures in biofluids indicative of h.m.ostatic m.intenance during intense ph.sical activity with.possible effects on increased infection susceptibility,suggesting th.t caution against respiratory diseases could benefit workers on h.gh.y ph.sical dem.nding jobs.

Background: Th. protective role of (poly)ph.nols against m.tabolic disorders h.s been extensively studied in adults but not in ***: To assess associations of dietary (poly)ph.nols and th.ir subclasses with.cardiom.tabolic h.alth.param.ters in adolescents. m.th.ds: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 944 individuals aged 11 to 14 years enrolled in th. sI! Program.for secondary sch.ols trial (NCT03504059). (Poly)ph.nol intake was assessed using sem.-quantitative food frequency questionnaires and th. Ph.nol-Explorer database. Th. m.asured cardiom.tabolic param.ters were waist circum.erence (WC) age-sex z-score， blood pressure (BP) age-sex z-score， blood glucose (BG)， triglycerides (TG)， and h.gh.density lipoprotein ch.lesterol (h.L-c). m.ltilevel m.xed-effect linear regression m.dels were applied to exam.ne th. association between (poly)ph.nol quintiles and cardiom.tabolic h.alth.***: Com.ared to th. lowest quintile， adolescents in th. h.gh.st quintile of total (poly)ph.nol intake h.d lower WC z-scores (β=-0.09， 95%CI=-0.09;-0.08， P-for trend=0.002)， m.an arterial pressure z-scores (β =-0.11， 95%CI=-0.12;-0.09， P-for trend=0.206)， and h.L-c (β=-1.52， 95%CI=-2.90;-0.14， P-for trend=0.108)， after m.ltivariable adjustm.nt. Th. WC z-scores (β=-0.11， 95%CI=-0.19;-0.03， P-for trend=0.013) and h.L-c (β=-2.16， 95%CI=-3.78;-0.53， P-for trend=0.046) were lower in th. h.gh.st quintile of flavonoid intake com.ared to th. lowest quintile.
