Literature review of the outcome of and methods used to improve transperineal repair of rectocele

Influenza A-virus infection represents a global threat causing seasonal outbreaks andpandemics. Among the global threats creating seasonal outbreak, Influenza “A-virus”infection is a dominating theme nowadays. Using the theory of fractional calculus, thisstudy considers an influenza model for quantitative study via the Laplace AdomianDecomposition Method (LADM). We proceed to explore the role of LADM on the proposed model. The method is described and explained for the proposed model whileproviding some plots to present the behavior of the disease.

Exploring predictive frameworks for malaria in Burundi

In Burundi,malaria infection has been increasing in the last decade despite efforts to increase access to health services,and several intervention *** use of heterogeneous data can help to build predictive models of malaria *** built predictive frameworks:the generalized linear model(GLM),and artificial neural network(ANN),to predict malaria cases in four sub-groups and the overall general *** results showed that more than half of malaria infections are observed in pregnant women and children under 5 years,with high burden to children between 12 and 59 *** results showed that,ANN model performed better in predicting total cases compared to *** model frameworks showed that education rates and Insecticide Treated Bed Nets(ITNs)had decreasing effects on malaria cases,some other variables had an increasing ***,malaria control and prevention interventions program are encouraged to understand those variables,and take appropriate measures such as providing ITNs,sensitization in schools and the communities,starting within high dense communities,among *** prediction of cases can provide timely information needed to be proactive for intervention strategies,and it can help to mitigate the epidemics and reduce its impact on populations and the economy.

Investigation of the medium calcium based non-burnt brick made by red mud and fly ash: durability and hydration characteristics

Red mud is a type of highly alkaline waste residue produced in the process of alumina smelting by the Bayer *** on the idea of medium calcium content,solid wastes such as red mud and fly ash were used to prepare non-burnt bricks;and the mass ratio of CaO/SiO2 was selected in the range of 0.88–*** properties and durability were investigated with a compressive strength test.X-ray diffractometry(XRD),scanning electron microscope(SEM),and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)techniques were used to characterize the hydration *** environmental performance was analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry(ICP).The results indicated that the mechanical properties and the durability were optimal when the mass ratio of CaO/SiO2 was *** hydration products were mostly C–S–H gel,ettringite,Na4Ca(Si10All6)O32·12H2O and Ca3Al2(SiO4)(OH)*** were responsible for the strength development,and the CaO/SiO2 mass ratio of 1.23 had the best polymerized *** results of an environmental performance test showed that the heavy metals in the raw materials were well-solidified in the ***,this paper provides an effective solution for use of solid wastes in building material.

Trypanosoma cruzi is the causative agent of Chagas *** parasite requires the intracellular niche in order to proliferate and disseminate the *** invasion,*** resides temporarily in an acidic vacuole which is lysed by a not well-understood *** electron microscopy was used to describe the process of *** escape from the parasitophorous vacuole over the *** HeLa(non-professional phagocytic cells)as host cell,we observed that recently internalized parasites reside in a membrane-bounded vacuole.A few hours later,the first sign of vacuole disruption appeared as membrane *** observation was followed by a progressive vacuole swelling as evidenced by an electron-lucent halo between the parasite and the vacuole ***,the vacuole membrane remnants reorganized as small vesicles that eventually disappeared from the vicinity of the ***,parasites reach the host cell cytosol where replication takes *** thorough ultrastructural description of this process set the base for a comprehensive understanding of the parasite-host cell interaction and,thus open the possibility of new therapeutic intervention strategies.

Chemical and Bacteriological Analysis of Drinking Water from Alternative Sources in the Dschang Municipality, Cameroon

In the poor zones of sub-Saharan Africa, the conventional drinking water network is very weak. The populations use alternative groundwater sources which are wells and springs. However, because of urbanization, the groundwater sources are degrading gradually making pure, safe, healthy and odourless drinking water a matter of deep concern. There are many pollutants in groundwater due to seepage of organic and inorganic pollutants, heavy metals, etc. Seventeen alternative water points created in 2008, for drinking water in Dschang municipality were examined for their physicochemical and bacteriological characteristics. The results revealed that water from managed points in Dschang is of poor quality. Most of the water samples were below or out of safety limits (standards) provided by WHO. The water is characterized by high turbidity and presence of feacal coliforms. It can be used for drinking and cooking only after prior treatment. This situation shows that water point management was limited only to the drawing up comfort. These water points require installation of suitable surfaces of filtration and the development of a chlorination follow-up plan. Specific concerns of well water were raised and the management options to be taken proposed.

A tribo-chemical view on astringency of plant-based food substances

Consumption of plant-based food products having high composition of polyphenols leads to the sensation of *** sliding oral surfaces,friction is an essential property during the oral perception of roughness and dryness which are attributes associated with *** factors including the chemical composition of interacting layers,structure and operation of interfaces have an effect on the astringency development *** manner of interactions occurring at oral interfaces suggest there is a system dependence of astringency and highlights the importance of adopting a tribosystems *** measurement techniques have shown an existing relationship between salivary protein-polyphenol interaction and an astringent ***,the tribo-chemistry involved in this multifaceted sensation remains largely unexplored in a comprehensive *** this review the underlying tribo-chemical processes useful in understanding the mechanism of astringency are highlighted and discussed considering current techniques employed to investigate astringency *** of lubrication on oral surfaces owing to the tribo-chemical interactions involving saliva and astringent plant proteins requires subsequent deformations of oral tissues which are significant enough to induce strains at mechanoreceptor locations,leading to the sensation of *** is proposed that micro-scale contact modelling on the interaction of food particles/aggregates,boundary layers and oral surfaces shows potential in addressing the knowledge gap between tribo-chemical measurement techniques and panel tests,making it possible to attain a predictor for astringency.

IL-10 and TNF-α promoter haplotypes are associated with childhood Crohn’s disease location

AIM： To determine the distribution and frequencies of the genotypes and haplotypes of the genes encoding for the glucocorticoid receptor （GR）, the tumor necrosis factor （TNF）-α and the interleukin （IL）-10 in childhood Crohn＇s disease （CD） and to assess the impact of the corresponding DNA variants on clinical and disease phenotypes.METHODS： Ten variants in GR, TNF-a and IL-10 were genotyped in 113 childhood CD cases and 95 healthy subjects, both of French-Canadian origin.RESULTS： For the GR polymorphisms （R23K and N363S） and IL-10 variants in the 5＇flanking region （-1082 G 〉 A, -819 T 〉 C and -592 A 〉 C）, no difference was observed in allele and genotype frequencies between CD patients and controls. At the haplotype level, we found three IL-10 haplotypes previously described in Caucasians （GCC, ACC and ATA） and three novel haplotypes only present in IBD patients. When we analyzed the haplotype distribution with the anatomical location of the disease, the GCC haplotype was associated with the colonic and the ACC haplotype with the terminal ileum location, respectively. The genotyping of five polymorphisms in the promoter region of the TNF-α gene （-1031 T 〉 C, -863 A 〉 C, -857 T 〉 C, -308 A 〉 G and -238 A 〉 G） revealed a significant overrepresentation of homozygous -1031 CC among CD patients （OR = 9.9） and an association with the colonic location. For TNF-α, eleven haplotypes were inferred, including two frequent ones, TCCGG and CACGG, which were significantly observed more frequently in controls and cases, respectively.CONCLUSION： This is one of the first studies investigating the association between haplotype structure and disease location in a CD pediatric cohort. Our results will help to increase our understanding of the genetic determinants of childhood CD.

以拜耳法赤泥、煤矸石和粉煤灰等工业固废为基本原料在实验室制备了一种公路路面基层材料,并研究了其力学性能、耐久性能和环境性能.通过开展干湿循环以及冻融循环试验研究了该公路路面基层材料的耐久性能,并利用ICP浸出试验和放射性检测研究其环境性能.结果表明,赤泥-煤矸石基路面基层材料赤泥和煤矸石掺量之和75%、固废总掺量97%时,7 d养护后无侧限抗压强度达到6 MPa以上;经过20个干湿循环后,矿渣掺量为5%的路面基层试块强度为5.98 MPa,满足国家标准;经过5个冻融循环后,路面基层材料的7 d抗压强度仍然达到6.89 MPa,具有良好的耐久性能.浸出试验结果显示,浸出液中Na＋浓度均符合国家饮用水标准,同时浸出液中Zn、Hg、Cu、Pb、Ni等重金属均未检测出;放射性试验结果表明,试验所用纯赤泥的放射性符合相应的国家标准.通过对该路面基层材料进行固碱分析以及能谱分析发现,硅铝体系能有效固结钠离子.此公路路面基层材料具有良好的环境效益和社会效益,拓宽了路面基层材料的选材范围.
