Linewidth narrowing in self-injection-locked on-chip lasers

Stable laser emission with narrow linewidth is of critical importance in many applications,including coherent communications,LIDAR,and remote *** this work,the physics underlying spectral narrowing of self-injection-locked on-chip lasers to Hz-level lasing linewidth is investigated using a composite-cavity *** integrated III–V/SiN lasers operating with quantum-dot and quantum-well active regions are analyzed with a focus on the effects of carrier quantum *** intrinsic differences are associated with gain saturation and carrier-induced refractive index,which are directly connected with 0-and 2-dimensional carrier densities of *** from parametric studies are presented for tradeoffs involved with tailoring the linewidth,output power,and injection current for different device *** both quantum-well and quantum-dot devices show similar linewidth-narrowing capabilities,the former emits at a higher optical power in the self-injection-locked state,while the latter is more ***,a multi-objective optimization analysis is provided to optimize the operation and design *** the quantum-well laser,minimizing the number of quantum-well layers is found to decrease the threshold current without significantly reducing the output *** the quantum-dot laser,increasing the quantum-dot layers or density in each layer increases the output power without significantly increasing the threshold *** findings serve to guide more detailed parametric studies to produce timely results for engineering design.

The effect of energy on the natural environment has become increasingly severe as human consumption of fossil energy has *** capacity of the synchronous generators to keep working without losing synchronization when the system is exposed to severe faults such as short circuits is referred to as the power system’s transient *** the power system’s safe and stable operation and mechanism of action become more complicated,higher demands for accurate and rapid power system transient stability analysis are *** methods for analyzing transient stability are less accurate because they do not account formisclassification of unstable *** a result,this paper proposes a novel approach for analyzing transient *** key concept is to use deep forest(DF)and a neighborhood rough reduction approach *** the neighborhood rough sets,the original feature space is obtained by creating many optimal feature subsets at various granularity ***,by deploying the DF cascade structure,the mapping connection between the transient stability state and the features is *** weighted voting technique is used in the learning process to increase the classification accuracy of unstable *** contrasted to current methods,simulation results indicate that the proposed approach outperforms them.

Based on theWorld Health Organization(WHO),Meningitis is a severe infection of the meninges,the membranes covering the brain and spinal *** is a devastating disease and remains a significant public health *** study investigates a bacterial meningitis model through deterministic and stochastic ***-compartment population dynamics explain the concept,particularly the susceptible population,carrier,infected,and *** model predicts the nonnegative equilibrium points and reproduction number,i.e.,the Meningitis-Free Equilibrium(MFE),and Meningitis-Existing Equilibrium(MEE).For the stochastic version of the existing deterministicmodel,the twomethodologies studied are transition probabilities and non-parametric ***,positivity,boundedness,extinction,and disease persistence are studiedrigorouslywiththe helpofwell-known *** and nonstandard techniques such as EulerMaruyama,stochastic Euler,stochastic Runge Kutta,and stochastic nonstandard finite difference in the sense of delay have been presented for computational analysis of the stochastic ***,standard methods fail to restore the biological properties of the model,so the stochastic nonstandard finite difference approximation is offered as an efficient,low-cost,and independent of time step *** addition,the convergence,local,and global stability around the equilibria of the nonstandard computational method is studied by assuming the perturbation effect is *** simulations and comparison of the methods are presented to support the theoretical results and for the best visualization of results.

Phospholipids have been recognized as significant functional lipids related to nutrition,while they were complex and multiple,and their sources were *** functions of phospholipids in skeletal muscle were given serious attention;however,studies on dietary phospholipid profiles with functions on skeletal muscle were rarely ***,we analyzed phospholipid profiles of four kinds of dietary phospholipids(including yolk phospholipid,soybean phospholipid,perilla seed phospholipid and krill oil phospholipid)and compared their composition differences using *** emphasized significant differences in *** oil phospholipid rich inω-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids(ω-3 LCPUFAs)showed the most excellent effect in skeletal muscle *** with triglyceride-type lipid(fish oil),phospholipids had higher ***,as for a higher degree of unsaturation of phospholipid,they did not always perform better effects,which might be related to being more susceptible to suffering from oxidative ***,four representative phospholipids were analyzed and compared for their bioactive function in skeletal muscle,providing a reference for better understanding relationships between structures and functional applications of phospholipids.

Statistical Relationship Between UVB(280-320nm) and Broadband Solar Radiation(295-2800nm) at a Subtropical Location(Qena,Egypt)

The present study quantifies the relationship between ultraviolet-B(UVB) and broadband solar radiation(G) at Qena,*** from 10-year hourly integrated totals for both UVB and G on a horizontal surface were used to determine the best fit between the two radiation *** the basis of the correlation of determination(r2),a second-order polynomial was determined to provide the best *** the purpose of developing an empirical model to estimate UVB,all of the cases of UVB and G from a nine-year study from 2001 to 2009 were *** and seasonal empirical models,as well as a general expression,were established for UVB as a function of *** values of r2 ranged from 0.90 to *** using a new dataset of G,the estimated and the corresponding measured values of UVB were determined to be in good agreement whereby the values of r2 between the two ranged from 0.91 to *** addition,the significance and performance of the regression forms were evaluated with the aid of several statistical analysis *** values of the index of modeling(d) and coefficient of modeling efficiency(ME) were close to ***,the values of RMSE,mean bias error(MBE),and mean absolute error(MAE) were lower than the experimental *** the basis of this analysis,it has been determined that the suggested regression forms can be used to estimate UVB when it difficult to obtain measurements or when measurements are available only for limited periods at the studied region.

Ion-acoustic waves in plasma of warm ions and isothermal electrons using time-fractional KdV equation

The ion-acoustic solitary wave in collisionless unmagnetized plasma consisting of warm ions-fluid and isothermal electrons is studied using the time fractional KdV equation. The reductive perturbation method has been employed to derive the Korteweg-de Vries equation for small but finite amplitude ion-acoustic wave in warm plasma. The Lagrangian of the time fractional KdV equation is used in a similar form to the Lagrangian of the regular KdV equation with fractional derivative for the time differentiation. The variation of the functional of this Lagrangian leads to the Euler-Lagrange equation that gives the time fractional KdV equation. The variational-iteration method is used to solve the derived time fractional KdV equation. The calculations of the solution are carried out for different values of the time fractional order. These calculations show that the time fractional can be used to modulate the electrostatic potential wave instead of adding a higher order dissipation term to the KdV equation. The results of the present investigation may be applicable to some plasma environments, such as the ionosphere plasma.

Investigations on the tensile deformation of pure Mg and Mg–15Gd alloy by in-situ X-ray synchrotron radiation and visco-plastic self-consistent modeling

In this study,the texture evolutions of two Mg materials during tension are ***-situ X-ray synchrotron and Visco-Plastic SelfConsistent(VPSC) modeling are employed to investigate the different deformation modes between pure Mg and Mg-15Gd(wt.%) *** two materials with a strong extrusion texture show large different slip/twinning activity behaviors during tensile *** basal(a) slip has the highest contribution to the initial stage of plastic deformation for pure *** the subsequent plastic deformation,the prismatic slip is dominant due to the strong ED//(100) fiber *** contrast,the deformation behavior of Mg-15Gd alloy is more *** and basal slip are dominant at the early stage of plastic deformation,but further deformation results in the increased activation of prismatic and pyramidal *** comparison to pure Mg,the ratios of the critical resolved shear stress(CRSS) between non-basal slip and basal slip of the Mg-15Gd alloy are much lower.

People who are deaf or have difficulty speaking use sign language,which consists of hand gestures with particular motions that symbolize the“language”they are communicating.A gesture in a sign language is a particular movement of the hands with a specific shape from the fingers and whole *** this paper,we present an Intelligent for Deaf/Dumb People approach in real time based on Deep Learning using Gloves(IDLG).The approach IDLG offers scientific contributions based deep-learning,a multimode command techniques,real-time,and effective use,and high accuracy *** this purpose,smart gloves working in real time were *** data obtained from the gloves was processed using deep-learning-based approaches and classified multi-mode commands that allow dumb people to speak with regular people via their smart ***,the glove has five flex sensors and an accelerometer using to achieve Low-Cost Control *** flex sensor generates a proportional change in resistance for each individual *** processing of these hand gestures is in Atmega32A Microcontroller which is an advance version of the microcontroller and the lab view *** compares the input signal to memory-stored specified voltage *** performance of the IDLG approach was verified on a dataset created using different hand gestures from 20 different *** the test using the IDLG approach on 10,000 data points,process time performance of milliseconds was achieved with 97%accuracy.

The aim of this article was to analyze the theories underpinning dental fear, anxiety and phobias. To be included, articles must have been published between the years of 1949 and 2013 concerning fears and phobias within dentistry and/or psychiatry. Of 200 articles originally under review, 140 were included and reviewed by the *** specific pathways relating to dental fear and anxiety were identified; Cognitive Conditioning, Informative, Visual Vicarious, Verbal Threat, and Parental. Eight currently accepted management techniques across all dental disciplines for dental fear and anxiety were identified. Further research is required to identify clinical diagnosis and treatment for fears originating from different pathways.

Doping effect of SrZrO_(3) on KNLN ceramics structure and their dielectric properties

In this work,lead-free systems;(1-x)(K_(0.465)Na_(0.465)Li_(0.07))NbO_(3)–xSrZrO_(3)(x=0,0.005,0.050,0.095 and 0.14)were synthesized by the conventional solid-state reaction ***,SEM,densification parameter as well as dielectric parameters of the obtained KNLN ceramics were *** analysis showed the formation of orthorhombic perovskite structure in all investigated ***_(3)(SZ)inhibited the grain growth and increased the distribution of grains uniformly in the micro*** addition,SZ changed the crystalline system of KNLN ceramics *** a consequence,the permittivity,dielectric loss as well as AC conductivity decreased *** ceramics of x=0.005 are characterized by low conductivity(10-10 S/cm),low dielectric loss(0.005)and relatively high permittivity(34).They can be useful for the electrical capacitors fabrication and filtering out noise from signals in resonant *** frequencies lower than 105 Hz,DC conductivity and separation of the charges at the interfaces were found to dominate the electrical behavior of ceramics,whereas at higher frequencies,a faster or dipole polarization may become more dominated.A broad peak has been observed in the imaginary part of electric modulus revealing to the non-Debye dielectric relaxation *** mechanical tunneling(QMT)was found to be the most suitable to characterize the electrical conduction mechanism in the ceramic compounds.
