Bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells ameliorate sodium nitrite-induced hypoxic brain injury in a rat model

Sodium nitrite（Na NO2） is an inorganic salt used broadly in chemical industry. Na NO2 is highly reactive with hemoglobin causing hypoxia. Mesenchymal stem cells（MSCs） are capable of differentiating into a variety of tissue specific cells and MSC therapy is a potential method for improving brain functions. This work aims to investigate the possible therapeutic role of bone marrow-derived MSCs against Na NO2 induced hypoxic brain injury. Rats were divided into control group（treated for 3 or 6 weeks）, hypoxic（HP） group（subcutaneous injection of 35 mg/kg Na NO2 for 3 weeks to induce hypoxic brain injury）, HP recovery groups N-2 w R and N-3 w R（treated with the same dose of Na NO2 for 2 and 3 weeks respectively, followed by 4-week or 3-week self-recovery respectively）, and MSCs treated groups N-2 w SC and N-3 w SC（treated with the same dose of Na NO2 for 2 and 3 weeks respectively, followed by one injection of 2 × 106 MSCs via the tail vein in combination with 4 week self-recovery or intravenous injection of Na NO2 for 1 week in combination with 3 week self-recovery）. The levels of neurotransmitters（norepinephrine, dopamine, serotonin）, energy substances（adenosine monophosphate, adenosine diphosphate, adenosine triphosphate）, and oxidative stress markers（malondialdehyde, nitric oxide, 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine, glutathione reduced form, and oxidized glutathione） in the frontal cortex and midbrain were measured using high performance liquid chromatography. At the same time, hematoxylin-eosin staining was performed to observe the pathological change of the injured brain tissue. Compared with HP group, pathological change of brain tissue was milder, the levels of malondialdehyde, nitric oxide, oxidized glutathione, 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine, norepinephrine, serotonin, glutathione reduced form, and adenosine triphosphate in the frontal cortex and midbrain were significantly decreased, and glutathione reduced form/oxidized glutathione and adenosine monophosphate/adenosine

Molecular characterization of Echinococcus granulosus in paraffin-embedded human tissues from Southwest Iran

Objective:To investigate Echinococcus(E.)granulosus genotypes as the causative agents of hydatidosis in humans in the southwest of Iran(Khuzestan province).Methods:In this study,isolates of 80 archived human paraffin embedded hydatid cysts were collected from pathology laboratories in Ahvaz city,Khuzestan *** was extracted and examined by nested-PCR of ribosomal DNA(rDNA)internal transcribed spacer 1(ITS1),and *** addition,the sequences of fragments of genes coding for Cox space1 and NADH dehydrogenase 1(ND1)were also ***:Of the 80 paraffin samples,44(55.0%)were from the liver,27(33.8%)from the lung,and the rest from other *** amplified hydatid genomic DNA showed that the cysts were *** *** results of PCR-RFLP and sequencing analysis revealed the presence of G1 genotype(sheep strain)in all human ***,no camel strain(G6)was detected among all samples in the regions ***:The molecular findings indicate that the predominant genotype involved in *** transmission in southwest of Iran is the common sheep strain(G1),which occurs in human *** results may have important implications for hydatid disease control in the studied areas.

Role of bazaars as a unifying factor in traditional cities of Iran： The Isfahan bazaar

A city is a vital organism that lives and grows （ike other organisms. Therefore, implementing development plans that would provide a sense of unity and integration in relation to the city as a who（e is necessary. Traditional Iranian architecture is full of samples evolved during the course of Iranian history that can serve as architectural paragons of the city. In Iran＇s traditional cities, a sense of unity exists in various urban areas. The traditional city of Isfahan is one of the most valuable samples and was selected as the case study in this research. According（y, the most important questions of this research are as follows：（1） What is the role of bazaars in creating a sense of unity in the traditional cities of Iran？（2） How do bazaars play out their ro（e in the integration of these cities？ This research focuses on the concept of a ＂traditional city＂ to determine the role of bazaars in such cities. The results show that bazaars are crucial in giving a sense of integrity to the concept of a traditional Iranian city. Bazaars provide cohesion among the different parts of cities, such as residential areas, as well as socio-political and trade centers. This condition means that traditional bazaars play two important roles in traditional cities：（1） they interconnect the different parts of thecity＇s physical structure; and （2） the crucial role of bazaars in a city＇s socia（ and cultural structure brings about unity among the citizens in the city. Bazaars as a unifying etement connect the main urban functions and guarantee the city＇s economic and social rife.

A new two-axis solar tracker based on the online optimization method:Experimental investigation and neural network modeling

This article presents a new two-axis solar tracker based on an online optimization algorithm so as to track the position of the sun without using its movement *** this research,four well-known optimization algorithms are employed to find the two unknown parameters named azimuth and zenith angles,which determine the position of the *** magnitude of the sunray is considered as the cost function of all ***,several experiments are carried out to find the best optimization algorithm with optimal population size,number of iterations,and also the best initialization *** initialization leads to faster convergence compared to random *** results clearly show that the particle swarm optimization algorithm with a population size of 15 and 7 iterations using uniform initialization method has better performance than the other algorithms,with a convergence time of less than 40 *** average fitness value or voltage received by the tracker is 2.4 Volts in this method,which is higher than other *** also performs well with a population size of 15 and 7 ***,the artificial neural network with one hidden layer and 20 neurons is employed to predict these two parameters in each day and moment in a year in Shiraz city according to the experimental data extracted from *** of the day from January and the time are inputs and zenith and azimuth angles are considered the output of neural network *** performance of the proposed ANN model is evaluated using regression plots,demonstrating a strong correlation between predicted and target ***,the outcomes reveal the feasibility of using online optimization algorithms and neural network modeling in an effort to bypass the complex mathematical model of mechatronic systems and predict the movement of the sun automatically.

Objective:To establish a spatial geo-database for scorpions in Iran,and to identify the suitable ecological niches for the most dangerous scorpion species under different climate change ***:The spatial distribution of six poisonous scorpion species of Iran were modeled:Hemiscorpius lepturus,Androctonus crassicauda,Mesobuthus eupeus,Hottentotta saulcyi,Hottentotta zagrosensis,and Odontobuthus(O.)doriae,under RCP2.6 and RCP8.5 climate change *** Max Ent ecological niche model was used to predict climate suitability for these scorpion species in the 2030 s and 2050 s,and the data were compared with environmental suitability under the current bioclimatic ***:A total of 73 species and subspecies of scorpions belonging to 19 genera in Iran were *** Province has the highest species diversity with 34 species and *** most poisonous scorpion species of Iran are scattered in the semi-arid climates,at an altitudinal range between 11 m and 2954 m above sea *** is projected that ***,Androctonus crassicauda and Mesobuthus eupeus species would be widely distributed in most parts of the country,whereas the most suitable ecological niches for the other species would be limited to the west and/or southwestern part of ***:although the environmental suitability for all the species would change under the two climate change scenarios,the change would be more significant for *** under RCP8.5 in the 2050 *** findings can be used as basis for future studies in the areas with the highest environmental suitability for the most dangerous scorpion species to fill the gaps in the ecology of scorpion species in these areas.

Pattern discovery of long non-coding RNAs associated with the herbal treatments in breast and prostate cancers

Background:Accumulating evidence shows that long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)play critical roles in cancer *** possible association between lncRNAs and herbal medicine is yet to be *** study aims to identify medicinal herbs associated with lncRNAs by RNA-seq data for breast and prostate ***:To develop the optimal approach for identifying cancer-related lncRNAs,we implemented two steps:(1)applying protein–protein interaction(PPI),Gene Ontology(GO),and pathway analyses,and(2)applying attribute weighting and finding the efficient classification model of the machine learning ***:In the first step,GO terms and pathway analyses on differential co-expressed mRNAs revealed that lncRNAs were widely co-expressed with metabolic process *** identified two hub lncRNA-mRNA networks that implicate lncRNAs associated with breast and prostate *** the second step,we implemented various machine learning-based prediction systems(Decision Tree,Random Forest,Deep Learning,and Gradient-Boosted Tree)on the non-transformed and Z-standardized differential co-expressed *** on five-fold cross-validation,we obtained high accuracy(91.11%),high sensitivity(88.33%),and high specificity(93.33%)in Deep Learning which reinforces the biomarker power of identified lncRNAs in this *** data originally came from different cell lines at different durations of herbal treatment intervention,we applied seven attribute weighting algorithms to check the effects of variables on identifying *** weighting results showed that the cell line and time had little or no effect on the selected lncRNAs ***,we identified one known lncRNAs,downregulated RNA in cancer(DRAIC),as an essential ***:This study will provide further insights to investigate the potential therapeutic and prognostic targets for prostate cancer(PC)and breast cancer(BC)in common.

ABSTRACT Non-isocyanate polyurethane(NIPU)foams using a hydrolysable tannin,also vulgarly called tannic acid,namely here commercial chestnut wood tannin extract was *** strength did not appear to depend on the foam apparent density while the formulation composition of the NIPU foams has been shown to be more *** NIPU foams appeared to be self-extinguishing once the high temperature flame is *** ignition time gave encouraging results but for improved fire resistance the foams may need some fire-retardant *** spectrometry showed the formation of non-isocyanate urethane *** analysis indicated a good thermal resistance of these foams,with thermal degradation following four *** in the interval 25℃–120℃ range,mainly evaporation of water occurs with a maximal loss of 10%*** the 150℃–450℃ temperature range foams mass loss is of almost 70%.In particular in the 125℃–275℃ range occurs the degradation of some small molecular weight *** the 500℃–790℃ temperature range the foams do not present any further large degradation.
