Indoor CO2 concentration depends on the number of persons, their metabolic rates, other sources of indoor pollution, ventilation rate and ventilation efficiency. These factors are not considered by the Spanish technical building code since ventilation is set only by a fixed air change rate. This paper aims to explore the possibilities of DCVS （demand controlled ventilation systems） to ensure adequate and sustainable ventilation. It is based on a research project carried out by the University of the Basque Country （EHU-UPV） and Euskadi Public Housing and Soil Join-Stock Company （VISESA）： the living rooms of 90 dwellings were provided with DCVS, where CO2 sensors were used to dynamically control the ventilation rate. Tests were carried out using tracer gas techniques, with results showing the air age to be adequate at every point of the occupied zones and free of stagnant areas, therefore proving the system＇s effectiveness and rapid response, and its energy savings.

Since indoor clothing insulation is a key element in thermal comfort models,the aim of the present study is proposing an approach for predicting it,which could assist the occupants of a building in terms of recommendations regarding their *** that,a systematic analysis of input variables is exposed,and 13 regression and 12 classification machine learning algorithms were developed and *** results are based on data from 3352 questionnaires and 21 input variables from a field study in mixed-mode office buildings in *** temperature at 6 a.m.,indoor air temperature,indoor relative humidity,comfort temperature and gender were the most relevant features for predicting clothing *** comparing machine learning algorithms,decision tree-based algorithms with Boosting techniques achieved the best *** proposed model provides an efficient method for forecasting the clothing insulation level and its application would entail optimising thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

The need for renewable energy sources makes microalgae an essential feedstock for biofuels *** molecular aspects and the response to nitrogen(N)-limited conditions with a phytohormone stimulus in microalgae have been slightly *** this work,Scenedesmus obliquus was used as a study model to analyze the effect of benzyl amino purine(BAP)and gibberellic acid(GA)coupled to nitrogen limitation on cell growth,biomass and fatty *** selected 10^(-5)M BAP increased the biomass by 1.44-fold,and 10^(-6)M GA by *** total lipids also increased by 2.8 and 1.11-fold,*** 10^(-5)M BAP and 10^(-6)M GA addition to *** cultures at different initial nitrogen percentages(N-0,N-25,and N-50)showed a significant increase in cell growth and biomass productivity compared to the unstimulated *** N-0 and GA N-0 produced the highest lipid yields with 55%and 50%,*** lipid profile analysis revealed an increase,particularly in C18:1 and C16:0 fatty *** expression analysis showed an over-expression of acyl carrying protein(ACP),stearoyl-ACP desaturase(SAD),fatty acid acyl-ACP thioesterase(FATA),and diacylglycerol acyltransferase(DGAT)genes,which were mainly induced by nitrogen ***,BAP and GA produced a significant over-expression on these genes in the N-replete *** study shows that BAP and GA,coupled to N limitation stress,can be used to increase the biomass and lipid production in *** for sustainable biofuels.

Halophytes are an excellent choice for the study of genes conferring salt tolerance to salt-sensitive plants and,they are suitable for reclamation and remediation of saline *** develop an in vitro plant propagation protocol and studies of genes involved with GB and Pro biosynthesis in Suaeda *** buds were used as explants and cultured in different treatments on Murashige and Skoog(MS)medium supplemented with different concentrations and combinations of plant growth *** highest number of multiple shoots was on MS medium containing 1 mg/L Benzyladenine(BA)and/or 2 g/L activated carbon with 5.5±06 shoots per *** identification and expression analysis of genes involved in glycine betaine(GB)biosynthesis were S-adenosyl-methionine synthetase(SAMS),choline monooxygenase(CMO)and betaine alde-hyde dehydrogenase(BADH),and for proline(Pro)was pyrroline 5-carboxylate synthetase(P5CS).These sequences shared 90–95%of identity with others plant homologous in public *** amino acids sequence analysis showed that all these peptides contain some of the conserved motifs of those kinds of *** qRT-PCR analysis revealed a higher expression of SeBADH,SeCMO,and,SeP5CS genes in the roots and leaves from plants collected in the field in contrast with from in vitro ***,the expression level of SeSAMS was higher only in the leaves of plants collected in the field when com-pared to those cultivated in vitro.

To date,skin wounds are still an issue for healthcare *** numerous approaches have been developed over the years for skin regeneration,recent advances in regenerative medicine offer very promising strategies for the fabrication of artificial skin substitutes,including 3D bioprinting,electrospinning or spraying,among *** particular,skin sprays are an innovative technique still under clinical evaluation that show great potential for the delivery of cells and hydrogels to treat acute and chronic *** sprays present significant advantages compared to conventional treatments for wound healing,such as the facility of application,the possibility to treat large wound areas,or the homogeneous distribution of the sprayed *** this article,we review the latest advances in this technology,giving a detailed description of investigational and currently commercially available acellular and cellular skin spray products,used for a variety of diseases and applying different experimental ***,as skin sprays products are subjected to different classifications,we also explain the regulatory pathways for their commercialization and include the main clinical trials for different skin diseases and their treatment ***,we argue and suggest possible future trends for the biotechnology of skin sprays for a better use in clinical dermatology.

Nowadays, urban planning supposes a key issue to promote sustainable cities＇ development. In the last decades, the urban growth of developed countries has caused several environmental, social and economic problems, such as the inefficient use of resources and infrastructures. Notwithstanding, detailed analysis of population＇s necessities allows decreasing these drawbacks. These enhancements can foster a more feasible development through technical sustainability criteria. Therefore, the urban metabolism study becomes an essential tool to plan a suitable management for material and energy flows. Industrial Ecology （IE） theory looks for the sustainable integration of human activities on their natural environment. It seeks mimic natural systems performance and their processes. Industrial Metabolism （IM） studies those processes which turns material and energy into products and wastes. The IE final goals aim to promote improvements in process efficiency, decreasing consumption and waste generation through flows recirculation and exchange networks of material and energy. This contribution proposes a new conceptual framework which integrates urban and industrial metabolisms as an opportunity to achieve more efficient and sustainable development. The review of national and international experiences shows the improvements achieved through metabolisms＇ combination based on the exchanges of residual energy and water streams.

This document presents the advantages of using different technology and computational programs, in order to support the teacher and the student during the teaching and learning experience regarding the subject of Probability and Statistics, which is taught in upper levels. For the experimental work, a group of 40 students, who studied the third semester at the Computing Advanced Faculty from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (ESCOM-IPN) was taken as a sample. The form to assess the group was different than usual, because currently not only knowledge was assessed but also the skills on technology were used to program software that allowed calculation through binomial and normal distribution or develop animations that simulated problems expressed in pencil and paper. For a semester, we worked with the group and obtained excellent results. The assessment was supported through a previously created metric.
