Introduction Myocardial injury related to acute ischaemic stroke is common even without primary cardiac *** intended to determine associations between values of left ventricular ejection fraction(lVEF)and ischaemic stroke lesion *** Of a local database,patients with acute first-ever ischaemic stroke confirmed by brain imaging but without pre-existing heart disease were *** cardiac morphology and lVEF were obtained from transthoracic or transesophageal echocardiography,and impaired lVEF was categorised as mild(35%-50%),moderate(34%-25%)and severe(lesion volume,prevalence of troponin I increase(>0.1 ng/ml),atrial fibrillation and cardiac wall motion abnormalities were assessed and compared between patients with and without impaired lVEF after stroke(significance:pltivariate voxelwise lesion analysis correlated lVEF after stroke with sites of ischaemic *** Of 1209 patients who had a stroke,231(mean age 66.3±14.0 years)met the inclusion criteria;40 patients(17.3%)had an impaired lVEF after *** with impaired lVEF had higher infarct volumes(53.8 ml vs 30.0 ml,p=0.042),a higher prevalence of troponin increase(17.5%vs 4.2%,p=0.006),cardiac wall motion abnormalities(42.5%vs 5.2%,pl fibrillation(60.0%vs 26.2%,plVEF of>50%.The multivariate voxelwise lesion analysis yielded associations between decreased lVEF and damaged voxels in the insula,amygdala and operculum of the right *** Our imaging analysis unveils a prominent role of the right hemispheric central autonomic network,especially of the insular cortex,in the brain-heart *** results support preliminary evidence that acute ischaemic stroke in distinct brain regions of the central autonomic network may directly impair cardiac function and thus further supports the concept of a distinct stroke-heart syndrome.

Nutrimental diagnosis of avocado(Persea americana Mill.)“Haas”,soil fertility and water quality in Cuernavaca,Morelos,Mexico

In two contrasting agricultural ecohabitats (agrohabitats) in the avocado production area in the municipality of Cuernavaca, Morelos, an analysis of nutrimental status, soil fertility and water quality was conducted to measure soil fertility levels and to determine the nutrimental state of the trees. The “Hass” variety avocado groves studied had an average age of 8 years;the first grove was planted in an acrisol soil (1700 to 1900 meters above mean sea level [mamsl]);the second, in an andosol soil (1200 to 1700 mamsl). In each agrohabitat, tests were performed to determine the soil’s physical and chemical characteristics. The physical and chemical characteristics of the soils of this zone differ as do the nutrimental states of the avocado trees in the two agrohabitats. The trees showed excessive concentration of Ca, Fe, S, z and Mg. The indices of Deviation from Optimal Percentage (DOP) in the two agrohabitats showed different nutrimental requirements;nevertheless, they were low and very near to zero, 14.218 and 13.350 respectively. The water used for the agricultural irrigation was low in salinity and sodium content and thus may be used for the agricultural irrigation without restrictions.

Histology involves the observation of structural features in tissues using a *** diffraction-limited optical microscopes are commonly used in histological investigations,their resolving capabilities are insufficient to visual.ze details at subcellular *** a novel set of super-resolution optical microscopy techniques can fulfill the resolution demands in such cases,the system complexity,high operating cost,lack of multi-modality,and low-throughput imaging of these methods limit their wide adoption for histological *** this study,we introduce the photonic chip as a feasible high-throughput microscopy platform for super-resolution imaging of histological *** cryopreserved ultrathin tissue sections of human placenta,mouse kidney,pig heart,and zebrafish eye retina prepared by the Tokuyasu method,we demonstrate diverse imaging capabilities of the photonic chip including total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy,intensity fluctuation-based optical nanoscopy,single-molecule local.zation microscopy,and correlative light-electron *** results validate the photonic chip as a feasible imaging platform for tissue sections and pave the way for the adoption of super-resolution high-throughput multimodal analysis of cryopreserved tissue samples both in research and clinical settings.

Antioxidant activity of six essential oils and its molecules in Ecuadorian Andean medicinal plants

Background:This research values the antioxidant activity and its responsible molecules in six essential oils from medicinal plants in the Ecuadorian ***:The chemical composition of essential oils was determined using gas chromatography coupled mass *** evaluated the antioxidant activity of essential oils was use tree spectrophotometric methods:diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH),2,2’-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonic acid)(ABTS)andβ-Carotene bleaching *** essential oils with good activity were determined the responsible molecules using the Bioautographic HP-TlC-DPPH ***:The scavenging capacity of the radicals was assessed with DPPH and ABTS methods,the best results were found in the oils of *** IC_(50) DPPH 2.80 mg/ml and IC_(50) ABTS 0.205 mg/ml and in *** IC_(50) DPPH 12.972 mg/ml and IC_(50) ABTS 0.321 mg/ml,the results were compared with a pattern of natural reference in this case,the essential oil of *** IC_(50) DPPH 0.474 mg/ml and IC_(50) ABTS 0.272 mg/*** evaluation of the antioxidant activity was determined by theβ-carotene bleaching test,the most notable activity results were from *** IC_(50)0.119 mg/ml,*** IC_(50)0.062 mg/ml and *** IC_(50)0,064 mg/*** bioautography revealed the active molecules antioxidants in oils for *** were thymol acetate(7.73%)and carvacrol acetate(24.52%),for *** wasγ-muurolene(2.68%),and for *** z-caryophyllene(2.99%),aristolochene(0.11%)and cis-cadin-4-en-7-ol(4.11%).Conclusion:The results of antioxidant activity shown in descending order that the essential oils of:***,*** and ***,are those with the highest activity using the DPPH and ABTS ***β-Carotene bleaching test method confirms the 3 oils as the most active in the following order:***,*** and *** antioxidant bioautographic study identified the molecules responsible for the activity in three essential oils with
