This study was aimed to determine the mechanical strength of composites made from Agave cantala with an unsaturated polyester matrix and microcrystalline *** fiber(CF)was treated with 6%Na OH with immersion times of 0 h(UF),3 h(AK3),6 h(AK6),9 h(AK9),and12 h(AK12).Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)analysis shows that treated CF has higher thermal stability than CF without *** fiber was tested by X-ray *** alkali treatment with a 6-h soaking,it had a crystallinity index of 73.65%.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)showed that the fibers were cleaner after alkali treatment because hemicellulose,wax,and other impurities were *** of the contact angle and surface energy showed that treated CF has smaller contact angles and greater surface energy.

In this research,the tensile properties'performance of compression moulded discontinuous randomized zalacca fibre/high-density polyethylene under critical fibre length was analysed by means of experimental method and micromechanical *** investigations were used to verify the tensile properties models toward the effect of fibre length and volume fraction on the *** experimental results showed that the tensile properties of composites had significantly increased due to the enhancement of fibre *** the contrary,a decline in the tensile properties was observed with the increase of volume fraction.A comparison was made between the available experimental results and the performances of Tsai-Pagano,Christensen and Cox-Krechel models in their prediction of composites elastic *** results showed that the consideration of fibre's elastic anisotropy in the Cox-Krenchel model had yielded a good prediction of the composites modulus,nevertheless the models could not accurately predict the composites modulus for fibre length study.

The Mutis-Timau Forest Complex,one of the remaining mountainous tropical forest areas in Timor Island,eastern Indonesia that covers an area of 31,984 ha,tends to decrease *** to secure mountain forest functions and counteract the negative impact of declining forest areas are often constrained by data uncertainty on factors contributing to *** this reason,this study attempts to develop models of deforestation and predict future deforestation in the Mutis-Timau Forest *** constructed models of deforestation that describe the relationship between deforestation and factors contributing to deforestation using spatial statistical *** this model,we used the deforestation data for the 1987-2017 period obtained from a previous study as dependent variables and the potential causes of deforestation generated from Geographic Information System spatial analysis as independent *** the probability of deforestation derived from the model,we predicted future deforestation under two different scenarios,namely,business-as-usual(as the reference scenario)and reducing emission fromdeforestation and forest *** findings showed that a positive relationship exists between probability of deforestation,distance to the settlement,and population density variables,whereas a negative relationship exists between likelihood of deforestation,elevation,slope,distance to the road,distance to the savanna,and forest management unit *** the 2017-2030 period,under the business-as-usual scenario,the Mutis-Timau Forest Complex will lose 1327.65 ha in forest area with an annual deforestation rate of 0.54%.Meanwhile,under the reducing emission from deforestation and forest degradation scenario,the overall forest loss was estimated to be 1237.11 ha with an annual deforestation rate of 0.50%.The predicted area of avoided deforestation in 2017-2030 under the reducing emission from deforestation and forest degradation scenario was 90.54

Image classification using Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)achieves optimal perfor-mance with a particular *** reduces the parameter number for learning features by switching from the standard convolution paradigm to the depthwise separable convolution(DSC)***,there are not enough features to learn for identify-ing the freshness of fish ***,minor variances in features should not require complicated CNN *** this paper,our first contribution proposed DSC Bottle-neck with Expansion for learning features of the freshness of fish eyes with a Bottleneck *** second contribution proposed Residual Transition to bridge current feature maps and skip connection feature maps to the next convolution *** third contribu-tion proposed MobileNetV1 Bottleneck with Expansion(MB-BE)for classifying the freshness of fish *** result obtained from the Freshness of the Fish Eyes dataset shows that MB-BE outperformed other models such as original MobileNet,VGG16,Densenet,Nasnet Mobile with 63.21%accuracy.

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United *** studies prove that though chemotherapeutic agents are being used for the treatment of colon cancer,they become non-effective when the cancer progresses to an invasive *** consumption of certain dietary agents has been linked with various cancers,fruit juices have been investigated for their consistently protective effect against colon *** unique biochemical composition of fruit juices is responsible for their anticancer *** this review,the chemo-preventive effect of fruit juices such as pomegranate and citrus juices against colon cancer are *** this purpose,the bioavailability,in vitro and in vivo effects of these fruit juices on colorectal cancer are ***,there is a scarcity of studies involving human trials to estimate the preventive nature of these juices against colon *** review will support the need for more preclinical tests with these crude juices and their constituents in different colorectal cancer cell lines and also some epidemiological studies in order to have a better understanding and promote pomegranate and citrus juices as crusaders against colon cancer.

OBJECTIVE To investigate effect of *** extract on the improvement of lipid profiles on diabetic *** This study uses control group post test only with male Sprague dawley *** rats was induced by high fructose diet(HFD)and single dose streptozotocin 25mg·kg-1 bw intra *** rat was administrated orally with water extract of *** in dose of 250,500 and 1000mg·kg-1 bw for *** scarifying,blood sample was collected and then total cholesterol(TC)serum level,triglyceride(TG),low density lippoprotein(LDL)and high density lipoprotein(HDL)were *** data was analyzed using ANOVA test continued with LSD test(P<0.05).RESULTS The supplementation of water extract from *** dose of 250,500 and 1000mg·kg-1 bw decrease TC serum level approximately 15%,25% and 35% compared to diabetic group(P<0.05),whereas the TG was decreased by 10%,20% and 30%(P<0.05)*** oral administration of *** extract 250,500 and 1000mg·kg-1 bw also were able to decrease LDL serum level about 30%,60% and 90%respectively compared to diabetic group(P<0.05),while the HDL serum level was increased by 40%,80% and 100%(P<0.05)*** diabetic groups,HDL level serum was decreased compared to normal group(P<0.05)while the TC,TG and HDL were increased(P<0.05).CONCLUSION *** leaves extract could repair lipid profiles of diabetic rats by increasing of HDL serum level,decreasing of TC serum level,TG and *** potency may be related to active substances which act as an anti-cholesterolemia and antioxidant in *** extract.

Gallic acid induced apoptotic events in HCT-15 colon cancer cells

AIM: To investigate the inhibitory action of diet-derived phenolic compound gallic acid(GA) against HCT-15 colon cancer ***: The antiproliferative effect of GA against colon cancer cells was determined by performing thiazolyl blue tetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay. The colony forming ability of GA treated colon cancer cells was evaluated using the colony forming assay. The cell cycle changes induced by GA in HCT-15 cells were analyzed by propidium iodide staining. Levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS) and mitochondrial membrane potential of HCT-15 exposed to GA was assessed using 2',7'-dichlorfluorescein-diacetate and rhodamine-123 respectively, with the help of flow cytometry. Morphological changes caused by GA treatment in the colon cancer cells were identified by scanning electron microscope and photomicrograph examination. Apoptosis was confirmed using flow cytometric analysis of GA treated HCT-15 cells after staining with ***: MTT assay results illustrated that GA has an inhibitory effect on HCT-15 cells with IC50 value of 740 μmol/L. A time-dependent inhibition of colony formation was evident with GA treatment. Cell cycle arrest was evident from the accumulation of GA treated HCT-15 cells at sub-G1 phase(0.98 ± 1.03 vs 58.01 ± 2.05)with increasing exposure time. Flow cytometric analysis of GA treated HCT-15 cells depicted early events associated with apoptosis like lipid layer breakage and fall in mitochondrial membrane potential apart from an increase in the generation of ROS which were in a time dependent manner. SEM and photomicrograph images of the GA-treated cells displayed membrane blebbing and cell shrinking characteristics of apoptosis. Further apoptosis confirmation by Yo-Pro-1 staining also showed the time-dependent increase of apoptotic cells after ***: These results show that GA induced ROS dependent apoptosis and inhibited the growth of colon cancer cells.

The Global Positioning System(GPS) Indonesian Continuously Operating Reference Stations(InaCORS)network has been used for various applications ranging from land administration to *** dynamic process plays a significant role in almost all Indonesia regions except in Kalimantan Island since it’s located on the stable continental plate. Therefore, the study of deformation in an area with less tectonic activities would be relatively simple to elucidate another terrestrial process. Here, we analyzed the deformation process in Kalimantan Island using continuous geodetic observation. We found that vertical displacement shows oscillation signals which are related to the hydrological cycle of water storage changes. Along with the GPS data, we utilized rain precipitation data to analyze both spatial and temporal variation of vertical displacement to support the hypothesis of elastic response to the load of water mass variations. Finally, we emphasized that continuous GPS observation in Kalimantan is reliable for detecting seasonal hydrological water storage changes.

The study of vehicular ad-hoc networks(VANETs)has received significant attention among academia;even so,its security and privacy still become a central issue that is wide-open to *** authentication schemes deployed in VANETs have a substantial impact on its security and *** researchers have proposed a variety of schemes related to the information verification and efficiency improvement in *** recent years,many papers have proposed identity-based batch verification(IBV)schemes in regard to diminishing overhead in the message verification process in *** survey begins with providing background information about VANETs and clarifying its security and privacy,as well as performance requirements that must be *** presenting an outlook of some relevant surveys of VANETs,a brief review of some IBV schemes published in recent years is *** detailed approach of each scheme,with a comprehensive comparison between them,has been provided ***,we summarize those recent studies and possible future improvements.
