We present combined photometric and spectroscopic analyses of the southern binary star PU ***-resolution spectra of this system were taken at the University of Canterbury *** Observatory in the years 2008 and again in *** find the light contribution of the secondary component to be only 2%of the total light of the system in optical wavelengths,resulting in a single-lined spectroscopic *** TESS data revealed grazing eclipses within the light minima,though the tidal distortion,examined also from Hipparcos data,remains the predominating light curve *** model shows PU Pup to have the more massive primary relatively close to filling its Roche *** Pup is thus approaching the rare‘fast phase’of interactive(Case B)*** adopted absolute parameters are as follows:M_(1)=4.10(±0.20)M_(⊙),M_(2)=0.65(±0.05)M_(⊙),R_(1)=6.60(±0.30)R_(⊙),R_(2)=0.90(±0.10)R_(⊙);T_(1)=11500(±500)K,T_(2)=5000(±350)K;photometric distance=186(±20)pc,age=170(±20)*** less-massive secondary component is found to be significantly oversized and overluminous compared to standard main sequence *** discuss this discrepancy referring to heating from the reflection effect.

A new ephemeris,period change analysis and light curve modeling of the W UMa-type eclipsing binary BF Pav are presented in this *** curves of the system taken in BVRI filters from two observatories,in Australia and Argentina,were modeled using the Wilson-Devinney *** results of this analysis demonstrate that BF Pav is a contact binary system with a photometric mass ratio q=1.460 ± 0.014,a fillout factor f=12.5%,an inclination of 87.97 ± 0.45 deg and a cold spot on the secondary *** applying the distance modulus formula,the distance of BF Pav was calculated to be d=268 ± 18 pc which is in good agreement with the Gaia EDR3 *** obtain an orbital period increase at a rate of 0.142 s century-1 due to a quadratic trend in the O-C ***,an alternative sudden period jump probably occurred which could be interpreted as a rapid mass transfer from the lower mass star to its companion of about ΔM=2.45 × 10-6 M⊙.Furthermore,there is an oscillatory behavior with a period of 18.3±0.3 *** BF Pav does not seem to have significant magnetic activity,this behavior could be interpreted as the light-time effect caused by an undetected third body in this *** this case,the probability for the third body to be a low mass star with M≥ 0.075 M⊙or a brown dwarf is 5.4% and 94.6% *** we assume i’=90°,a3=8.04±0.33 *** mass of the secondary component was also determined following two different methods which result close to each other.

Basis for the diversity and extent in loss of digestible nutrients created by dietary phytin: Emphasis on fowl and swine

Phytin is the Ca2+-Mg2+-K+salt of phytic acid that is created and deposited in the aleurone layer and/or germ of grains and legumes. Its high presence in feedstuffs for fowl and swine diets results in it being a universal and significant impediment to optimum performance. Phytin impairs gastrointestinal recovery of a wide array of nutrients, the effect varying with the nutrient concerned. On exposure to low pH during gastric digestion, phytin dissociates into phytic acid and solubilized Ca2+. Even at low gastric pH,phytic acid is negatively charged which forms the basis of its anti-nutritive behavior. Pepsinogen has extensive basic amino acids on its activation peptide that are presented as cations at low pH which are targeted by pepsin for activation. Partially crystalized Ca2+near the enzyme?s active site further stabilizes its newly formed structure. Thus, phytic acid appears to interfere with gastric digestion by several mechanisms; interfering with pepsinogen activation by binding to the polypeptide?s basic amino acids;coordinating free Ca2+, destabilizing pepsin; binding some dietary proteins directly, further compromising gastric proteolysis. Upon digesta attaining neutrality in the duodenum, Ca2+and other cations rebind with accessible anions, phytic acid being a significant contender. Phytate not only binds free cations but can also strip them from enzymes(e.g. Ca2+, Zn2+) which reduces their structural resistance to autolysis and ability as co-factors(e.g. Zn2+) to increase enzyme activity. Goblet cells initially employ Ca2+as an electronic shield between mucin layers enabling granule formation and cell storage. After mucin granule release, Ca2+is progressively displaced by Na+to free the viscous mucins enabling its translocation. Mucin entangles with the glycocalyx of adjacent enterocytes thereby constructing the unstirred water layer（USWL）. Excessive removal of Ca2+from mucin by phytic acid increases its fluidity facilitating its loss from the USWL with

昆虫病原线虫是一种极具潜力的生防因子，因其高效的杀虫特性而受到国际生防界的广泛关注，胰岛素作为一种蛋白质多肽，已被证实对昆虫、线虫等的生长发育、寿命均有重要调控作用。为了明确胰岛素对昆虫病原线虫的影响，本试验通过对经卡森斯氏线虫Steinernemakraussei0657L和短尾异小杆线虫Heterorhabditisbrevicaudis0641TY侵染的大蜡螟Galleriamellonella注射不同浓度胰岛素，观测昆虫病原线虫的生活史及其对大蜡螟的致病力，以明确胰岛素对昆虫病原线虫生长发育、生殖力、致病力的影响。结果表明：胰岛素干预时间和干预浓度均可对卡森斯氏线虫0657L在寄主昆虫体内的生长发育产生影响，侵染当天（t）干预和高浓度（1:500）干预，会明显缩短其发育历期；侵染当天无论是高浓度还是低浓度的胰岛素干预，均会明显缩短短尾异小杆线虫0641TY的发育历期，且相比较卡森斯氏线虫0657L，胰岛素促进短尾异小杆线虫0641TY发育历期的效果更明显。在卡森斯氏线虫0657L侵染大蜡螟10 d后，注射低浓度的胰岛素，可显著提高其生殖力；在短尾异小杆线虫0641TY侵染大蜡螟1d后，注射低浓度的胰岛素，可显著提高其生殖力。胰岛素对卡森斯氏线虫0657L致病力有影响，在24 h内高浓度胰岛素可显著缩短寄主昆虫的死亡时间，但是侵染36 h后，各处理间差异不显著；而对短尾异小杆线虫0641TY致病力无影响。综上所述，胰岛素对卡森斯氏线虫0657L和短尾异小杆线虫0641TY的发育和生殖力均有影响，且对卡森斯氏线虫致病力有影响。

Basalt fiber reinforcement in polymer matrix composites is becoming more and more popular because of its environmental friendliness and mechanical qualities that are comparable to those of synthetic *** fiber strengthened vinyl ester matrix polymeric composite with filler addition of nano-and micro-sized silicon carbide(SiC)element spanning from 2 weight percent to 10 weight percent was studied for its mechanical and wear *** application of Artificial Neural Network(ANN)to correlate the filler addition composition for optimum mechanical properties is required due to the non-linear mechanical and tribological features of *** stuffing blend and composition of the composite are optimized using the hybrid model and Genetic Algorithm(GA)to maximize the mechanical and wear-resistant *** predicted and tested ANN–GA optimal values obtained for the composite combination had a tensile,flexural,impact resilience,hardness and wear properties of 202.93 MPa,501.67 MPa,3.460 J/s,43 HV and 0.196 g,respectively,for its optimum combination of filler and *** can be noted that the nano-sized SiC filler particle enhances most of the properties of the composite which diversifies its *** predicted mechanical and wear values of the developed ANN–GA model were in closer agreement with the experimental values which validate the model.

The Origin of Electric Charge in Quantum Gravity

A model fermion has been produced in a theory of quantum gravity that establishes the existence of a mass gap and half-integral spin. The third requirement for the fermion is electric charge. We herein develop a dualism-based analysis that explains the origin of charge at the fermion scale in a primordial field theory of quantum gravity.

The Origin of Quarks in Quantum Gravity

A theory of quantum gravity has recently been developed by the author based on the concept that all forces converge to one at the moment of Creation. This primordial field can only interact with itself, as no other field exists, contrasting with the Standard Model of Particle Physics in which each elementary particle is an excitation in its own quantum field. The primordial field theory of quantum gravity has produced a model of a fermion with a mass gap, ½-integral spin, discrete charge, and magnetic moment. The mass gap is based on an existence theorem that is anchored in Yang-Mills, while Calabi-Yau anchors ½-integral spin, with charge and magnetic moment based on duality. Based on N-windings, this work is here extended to encompass fractional charge, with the result applied to quarks, yielding fermion mass and charge in agreement with experiment and novel size correlations and a unique quantum gravity-based ontological understanding of quarks.
