In this rev.ew,the possibilities of photochemical and electrochemical water splitting(WS)using porphyrins,phthalocyanines,related macrocycles,and their metal complexes are *** efforts are being carried out in order to dev.lop nov.l and cheap methods for water decomposition to generate inexhaustible greener energy sources(molecular hydrogen)instead of oil and *** processes of WS in heterogeneous and homogeneous media require nov.l photo-and electrocatalysts,in particular those on macrocycle basis.A high WS efficiency has been observ.d for porphyrins and phthalocyanines,showing their suitability both for HER and OER processes are av.ilable using these relativ. compounds for WS *** can be used in photocatalytic and electrocatalytic WS processes both in their free forms or as metal porphyrins/porphyrinates,mainly loaded on v.rious inorganic materials,such as Au NPs,C_(3)N_(4),GaP,KTaO_(3),GaP,and so on,as part of porphyrin-containing polymers or on electrode surface as modifying coatings,being sometimes better than commercial catalysts,such as Pt/*** H2 ev.lution can be considerably depended on the shape of porphyrin particles;in particular,porphyrin nanowires can yield up to 20 times more H2 than its *** certain cases,both HER and OER can be driv.n in the same electrolyte using metal *** capacity of metal porphyrins to generate ROS(in particular,singlet oxygen 1O_(2))under ultrasonic treatment is known and can be successfully used for H_(2)O_(2) and O_(2) *** can be used in similar processes in free form or as composites with inorganic or organic counterparts,being immobilized on nanocarbons,metal oxides and salts,or simply dissolv.d in water acting in a homogeneous *** additional use of ultrasound can lead to better results due to the synergistic effect of the sonochemical treatment and ***-organic frameworks are also applied for WS purposes and are mainly based

In recent years,the Internet of Things(IoT)has gradually dev.loped applications such as collecting sensory data and building intelligent serv.ces,which has led to an explosion in mobile data ***,with the rapid dev.lopment of artificial intelligence,semantic communication has attracted great attention as a new communication ***,for IoT dev.ces,howev.r,processing image information efficiently in real time is an essential task for the rapid transmission of semantic *** the increase of model parameters in deep learning methods,the model inference time in sensor dev.ces continues to *** contrast,the Pulse Coupled Neural Network(PCNN)has fewer parameters,making it more suitable for processing real-time scene tasks such as image segmentation,which lays the foundation for real-time,effectiv.,and accurate image ***,the parameters of PCNN are determined by trial and error,which limits its *** ov.rcome this limitation,an Improv.d Pulse Coupled Neural Networks(IPCNN)model is proposed in this *** IPCNN constructs the connection between the static properties of the input image and the dynamic properties of the neurons,and all its parameters are set adaptiv.ly,which av.ids the inconv.nience of manual setting in traditional methods and improv.s the adaptability of parameters to different types of *** segmentation results demonstrate the v.lidity and efficiency of the proposed self-adaptiv. parameter setting method of IPCNN on the gray images and natural images from the Matlab and Berkeley Segmentation *** IPCNN method achiev.s a better segmentation result without training,prov.ding a new solution for the real-time transmission of image semantic information.

A number of activ. elements hav. been demonstrated using the hybrid silicon ev.nescent platform, including lasers, amplifiers, and detectors. In this letter, two types of hybrid silicon modulators, flflfilling the building blocks in optical communication on this platform, are presented. A hybrid silicon electroabsorp- tion modulator, suitable for high speed interconnects, with 10-dB extinction ratio at -5 v.and 16-GHz modulation bandwidth is demonstrated. In addition, a hybrid silicon Mach-Zehnder modulator utilizing carrier depletion in multiple quantum wells is prov.d with 2 *** v.ltage-length product, 150-nm optical bandwidth, and a large signal modulation up to 10 Gb/s.

The metabolic syndrome(MS), which includes obesity,dyslipidaemia, hypertension and hyperglycaemia according to the most widely accepted definitions now used, is one of the most common post-transplant complications, with a prev.lence of 44%-58%. The MS, together with the immunosuppression, is considered the main risk factor for the dev.lopment of cardiov.scular disease(Cv.) in transplant recipients, which in turn accounts for 19%-42% of all deaths unrelated to the graft. The presence of MS represents a relativ. risk for the dev.lopment of Cv. and death of 1.78. On the other hand, non-alcoholic fatty liv.r disease(NAFLD), considered as the manifestation of the MS in the liv.r, is now the second leading reason for liv.r transplantation in the United States after hepatitis C and alcohol. NAFLD has a high rate of recurrence in the liv.r graft and a direct relation with the worsening of other metabolic disorders, such as insulin resistance or diabetes mellitus. Consequently, it is v.tally important to identify and treat as soon as possible such modifiable factors as hypertension, ov.rweight, hyperlipidaemia or diabetes in transplanted patients to thus minimise the impact on patient surv.v.l. Additionally, steroid-free regimens are fav.ured, with minimal immunosuppression to limit the possible effects on the dev.lopment of the MS.

The mode-locked laser diode has emerged as a promising candidate as a signal source for photonic radar systems,wireless data transmission, and frequency comb spectroscopy. They hav. the adv.ntages of small size, low cost,high reliability, and low power consumption, thanks to semiconductor technology. Mode-locked lasers based on silicon photonics adv.nce these qualities by the use of highly adv.nced silicon manufacturing technology. This paper will begin by giv.ng an ov.rv.ew of mode-locked laser diode literature, and then focus on mode-locked lasers on silicon. The dependence of mode-locked laser performance on design details is presented.
