This paper presents progress on the characterization of guided-wave light modulators for use in a low-cost holographic video monitor based on the MIT scanned-aperture architecture. A custom-built characterization apparatus was used to study device bandwidth, RGB operation, and linearity in an effort to identify optimal parameters for high bandwidth, GPU-driven, full-color holographic display.

This work studies the influence of a commercial dispersion of multi wall carbon nanotubes （MWcNT） on the hydration of a class G cement paste, at room and elevated down-hole temperatures. The MWcNT dispersion was produced with a solids concentration of 3.0 % by mass and an anionic surfactant as dispersing agent. cement pastes with water-to-cement ratio of 0.45 and additions of solid MWcNT by mass of cement up to 0.50 % were studied. Isothermal calorimetry results showed a clear retardation of the hydration of cement caused by the surfactant contained in the MWcNT dispersion. Nevertheless, thermogravimetric evaluations showed that once the hydration reaction resumed, the retardation effect of the surfactant did not have a negative impact on the amount of hydration products precipitated. It was concluded that the commercial MWcNT dispersion presents a good potential to be applied in oil well cement pastes.

A new bimetallic complex containing Zn and La was prepared from a salen ligand possessing methoxyl groups at the 3, 3′-positions. The structural feature is that one of nitrate groups is disordered and displaced between two metal centers. crystal system: Triclinic space group:P-1, Z=2. a=0.82714(17) nm, b=1.3484(3) (1) nm, and c=1 3898(3) (1) nm, α=79.89(3)°, β=76.67(3)°, and γ=72.43(3)°. V=1 428 6(5) nm3, Dx=1.812 g·cm-3. (Δρ)max=1 510×10-3 enm3, (Δρ)min=-1.503×10-3 enm3. Accordingly, two water molecules occupy the metal centers in the apical positions via the syn-geometry.

AIM To assess the cleansing efficacy and safety of a new colon capsule endoscopy(ccE) bowel preparation *** This was a multicenter,prospective,randomized,controlled study comparing two ccE regimens. Subjects were asymptomatic and average risk for colorectal cancer. The second generation ccE system(Pill cam? cOLON 2;Medtronic,Yoqneam,Israel) was utilized. Preparation regimens differed in the 1 st and 2 nd boosts with the Study regimen using oral sulfate solution(89 m L) with diatrizoate meglumine and diatrizoate sodium solution("diatrizoate solution")(boost 1 = 60 m L,boost 2 = 30 m L) and the control regimen oral sulfate solution(89 m L) alone. The primary outcome was overall and segmental colon cleansing. Secondary outcomes included safety,polyp detection,colonic transit,ccE completion and capsule excretion ≤ 12 h. RESULTS Both regimens had similar cleansing efficacy for the whole colon(Adequate: Study = 75.9%,control = 77.3%;P = 0.88) and individual segments. In the Study group,ccE completion was superior(Study = 90.9%,control = 76.9%;P = 0.048) and colonic transit was more often control = 4%;P = 0.0073). More Study regimen subjects experienced adverse events(Study = 19.4%,control = 3.4%;P = 0.0061),and this difference did not appear related to diatrizoate solution. Adverse events were primarily gastrointestinal in nature and no serious adverse events related either to the bowel preparation regimen or the capsule were observed. There was a trend toward higher polyp detection with the Study regimen,but this did not achieve statistical significance for any size category. Mean transit time through the entire gastrointestinal tract,from ingestion to excretion,was shorter with the Study regimen while mean colonic transit times were similar for both study *** A ccE bowel preparation regimen using oral sulfate solution and diatrizoate solution as a boost agent is effective,safe,and achieved superior ccE completion.

Objective:To configure and validate a novel prostate disease nomogram providing prostate biopsy outcome probabilities from a prospective study correlating clinical indicators and diagnostic parameters among Filipino adult male with elevated serum total prostate specific antigen(PSA)***:All men with an elevated serum total PSA underwent initial prostate biopsy at our institution from January 2011 to August 2014 were *** indicators,diagnostic parameters,which include PSA level and PSA-derivatives,were collected as predictive factors for biopsy *** logistic-regression analysis involving a backward elimination selection procedure was used to select independent predictors.A nomogram was developed to calculate the probability of the biopsy *** validation of the nomogram was performed using separate data set from another center for determination of sensitivity and specificity.A receiver-operating characteristic(ROc)curve was used to assess the accuracy in predicting differential biopsy outcome.

We propose a new way to develop non-parametric models of power curves using artificial intelligence *** parametric model and eight non-parametric models are developed to emulate the behavior described by the power curve of the wind farms.A comparison between the power curve models based on artificial neural networks(ANNs)and those based on fuzzy logic are also *** of the power curve models based on ANNs and fuzzy inference systems(FISs)are used as well as two new FISs with the proposed new *** initial pre-training is proposed,resulting from the characteristics derived from the expert inference followed by a transformation of a fuzzy Mamdani system into a fuzzy Sugeno *** the presented values by the error indicators are comparable,the results show that the new pre-trained FIS models have better precision compared with the ANN and FIS *** comparative study is conducted in two wind farms located in northeastern *** proposed method is a relevant alternative to improve power curve approximation based on an FIS.
