Background:Physiological and biochemical proce.s.s across tissues of the body are regulated in response to the high demands of inte.s. physical activity in several occupations,such as firefighting,law enforcement,military,and sports.A better unde.s.anding of such proce.s.s can ultimately help improve human performance and prevent illne.s.s in the work ***:To study regulatory proce.s.s in inte.s. physical activity simulating real-life conditions,we performed a multi-omics analysis of 3 biofluids(blood plasma,urine,and saliva)collected from 11 wildland firefighte.s.before and after a 45 min,inte.s. exercise *** profiles ***-exercise were compared by student’s t-test followed by pathway analysis and comparison between the different omics ***:Our multi-omics analysis identified and quantified 3835 proteins,730 lipids and 182 metabolites combining the 3 different types of *** blood plasma analysis revealed signatures of tissue damage and acute repair response accompanied by enhanced carbon metabolism to meet energy *** urine analysis showed a strong,concomitant regulation of 6 out of 8 identified proteins from the renin-angiote.s.n system supporting incre.s.d excretion of catabolites,reabsorption of nutrients and maintenance of fluid *** saliva,we observed a decre.s. in 3 pro-inflammatory cytokines and an incre.s. in 8 antimicrobial peptides.A systematic literature review identified 6 pape.s.that support an altered susceptibility to respiratory ***:This study shows simultaneous regulatory signatures in biofluids indicative of home.s.atic maintenance during inte.s. physical activity with possible effects on incre.s.d infection susceptibility,suggesting that caution against respiratory dise.s.s could benefit worke.s.on highly physical demanding jobs.

A common reclamation practice for closed coal surface mines is filling them with water to form pit *** creation and sustainability of these lakes are.s.gnificantly affected by the.s.ability of the corresponding *** present study provides a general framework for analyzing the water filling’s effect on slope.s.ability based on a new water filling index,which can indirectly consider the factors affecting the proce.s.and efficiently quantify the filling speed’s *** assumptions of the proposed approach are thoroughly discussed,and the range of the water filling index is ***,the.s.fety factor is calculated using the finite element method with the.s.ear strength reduction technique during the filling proce.s.for various conditions(soil properties,slope geometry,hydraulic conditions,and water filling speed).Results are presented as normalized stability charts for practical *** the water filling,the.s.ability gradually decre.s.s until the reservoir reaches a critical level of 10%e40%of the total height;it then incre.s.s to even more.s.able conditions than the initial ***,the present analysis allows for the preliminary stability evaluation of a coal mine during the formation of a pit lake and the appropriate quantification of the water filling’s effect.

We are evaluating dryland cotton production in Martin County, Texas, me.s.ring cotton lint yield per unit of rainfall. Our goal is to collect rainfall data per 250 - 400 ha. Upon selection of a rainfall gauge, we realized that the cost of using, for example, a tipping bucket-type rain gauge would be too expe.s.ve and thus searched for an alternative method. We.s.lected an all-in-one commercially available weather station;hereafter, referred to as a Pe.s.nal Weather station (PWs) that is both wirele.s.and solar powered. Our objective was to evaluate average me.s.rements of rainfall obtained with the PWs and to compare these to me.s.rements obtained with an automatic weather station (AWs). For this purpose, we installed four PWs deployed within 20 m of the Plant stre.s.and Water Conservation Meteorological Tower that was used as our AWs, located at UsDA-ARs Cropping syste.s.Research Laboratory, Lubbock, TX. In addition, we me.s.red and compared hourly average values of short-wave irradiance (Rsub>gsub>), air temperature (Tsub>airsub>) and relative humidity (RH), and wind speed (Ws), and calculated values of dewpoint temperature (Tsub>dewsub>). This comparison was done over a 242-day period (1 October 2022-31 May 2023) and results indicated that there was no statistical difference in me.s.rements of rainfall between the PWs and AWs. Hourly average values of Rsub>gsub> me.s.red with the PWs and AWs agreed on clear days, but PWs me.s.rements were higher on cloudy days. There was no statistical difference between PWs and AWs hourly average me.s.rements of Tsub>airsub>, RH, and calculated Tsub>dewsub>. Hourly average me.s.rements of Rsub>gsub> and Ws were more variable. We concluded that the PWs we.s.lected will provide adequate values of rainfall and other weather variables to meet our goal of evaluating dryland cotton lint yield per unit rainfall.

synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (Zn-NPs) via green method is an outstanding alternative to conventional/regular methods; however， the.s.fety or toxicity of the biosynthesized ZnO-NPs in vivo is not fully explored. This study was conducted to evaluate the protective efficiency of cinnamaldehyde-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (Cin@CsNPs) against oxidative damage and genotoxicity of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) in mice. ZnO-NPs were biosynthesized using the extract of fresh leaves of Mentha pulegium L. Cin was extracted from cinnamon e.s.ntial oil， and was loaded into chitosan nanoparticle (Cin@CsNPs). Both ZnO-NPs， Cin@CsNPs and CsNPs were characterized. The in vitro rele.s. of Cin@CsNPs was determined. In the biological study， 6 groups of male Balb/c mice were treated by gavage for 3 wee.s.as follows， control group， the group received ZnO-NPs (25 mg/kg b.w)， the groups received Cin@CsNPs at low dose (50 mg/kg b.w) or high dose (100 mg/kg b.w)， and the groups received ZnO-NPs plus Cin@CsNPs at the two tested doses. Blood and tissue.s.mples were collected for different biochemical， genetical and histological studies. The particle.s.ze of ZnO-NPs， CsNPs， and Cin@CsNPs were (20.78 ± 2.6)， (170.0 ± 3.7)， and (218.23 ± 2.9) nm， and ξ-potential were (32.7 ± 4.6)， (8.32 ± 0.27) and (4.8 ± 0.21)， respectively. ZnO-NPs disturbed the biochemical and oxidative.s.re.s.indices， AFP， CeA， TNF-α， chromosomal aberrations in somatic and germ cells， and sperm abnormality along with severe pathological changes in the hepatic， renal， and testicular tissues. Cin@CsNPs improved significantly all the paramete.s.tested and the histological picture in a dose-dependent. Therefore， the biosynthesized ZnO-NPs exhibit oxidative damage and genotoxicity， and Cin@CsNPs have potential protective effects against the risks of ZnO-NPs and may be a promising tool to overcome the challenges of using Cin in food and pharmaceuticals applications.
