Data on land use and land cover(LULC)are a vital input for policy-relevant research,such as modelling of the human population,socioeconomic activities,transportation,environment,and their *** europe,CORINe Land Cover has been the only data set covering the entire continent consistently,but with rather limited spatial *** data sets have provided much better detail,but either have covered only a fraction of europe(*** Atlas)or have been thematically restricted(*** High Resolution Layers).In this study,we processed and combined diverse LULC data to create a harmonised,ready-to-use map covering 41 *** doing so,we increased the spatial detail(from 25 to one hectare)and the thematic detail(by seven additional LULC classes)compared to the CORINe Land ***,we decomposed the class‘Industrial and commercial units’into‘Production facilities’,‘Commercial/service facilities’and‘Public facilities’using machine learning to exploit a large database of points of *** overall accuracy of this thematic breakdown was 74%,despite the confusion between the production and commercial land uses,often attributable to noisy training data or mixed land *** learnt from this exercise are discussed,and further research direction is proposed.

China is physically and socio-economically susceptible to global warming-derived high temperature extremes because of its vast area and high urban population density. This article presents a scenario-based analysis method for high temperature extremes aimed at illustrating the latter＇s hazardous potential and exposure across China. Based on probability analysis, high temperature extreme scenarios with return periods of 5, 10, 20, and 50 years were designed, with a high temperature hazard index calculated by integrating two differen- tially-weighted extreme temperature indices （maximum temperature and high temperature days）. To perform the exposure analysis, a land use map was employed to determine the spatial distribution of susceptible human activities under the different scenarios. The results indicate that there are two heat-prone regions and a sub-hotspot occupying a relatively small land area. However, the societal and economic consequences of such an environmental im- pact upon the North China Plain and middle/lower Yangtze River Basin would be substantial due to the concentration of human activities in these areas.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the current approach to medicine. AI uses machine learning algorithms to predict the success of therapeutic procedures or assist the clinician in the decision-making process. To date, machine learning studies in the andrological field have mainly focused on prostate cancer imaging and management. However, an increasing number of studies are documenting the use of AI to assist clinicians in decision-making and patient management in andrological diseases such as varicocele or sexual dysfunction. Additionally, machine learning applications are being employed to enhance success rates in assisted reproductive techniques (ARTs). This article offers the clinicians as well as the researchers with a brief overview of the current use of AI in andrology, highlighting the current state-of-the-art scientific evidence, the direction in which the research is going, and the strengths and limitations of this approach.

Predicting monsoon onset is crucial for agriculture and socioeconomic planning in countries where millions rely on the timely arrival of monsoon rains for their livelihoods. In this study we demonstrate useful skill in predicting year-to-year variations in South China Sea summer monsoon onset at up to a three-month lead time using the GloSea5 seasonal forecasting system. The main source of predictability comes from skillful prediction of Pacific sea surface temperatures associated with el Ni?no and La Ni?na. The South China Sea summer monsoon onset is a known indicator of the broadscale seasonal transition that represents the first stage of the onset of the Asian summer monsoon as a whole. Subsequent development of rainfall across east Asia is influenced by subseasonal variability and synoptic events that reduce predictability, but interannual variability in the broadscale monsoon onset for east Asian summer monsoon still provides potentially useful information for users about possible delays or early occurrence of the onset of rainfall over east Asia.

The Influence of Atmospheric Parameters on Production and Distribution of Air Pollutants in Bayelsa: A State in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria

Air pollution is a primary environmental problem in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria due to oil spills including the gas emissions associated with industrial effluents. However, a good understanding and quantification of atmospheric parameters (wind speed, wind direction, temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation and cloud cover) that influence air pollution (CH4, NO2 and O3) concentrations in this region could assist in the mitigation and distribution of these pollutants. This work examines the influence of atmospheric parameters on the production and distribution of air pollutants in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria for the development of control strategies that will enhance the mitigation and amelioration of the significant impacts that these atmospheric pollutants could have on the populace in this part of the country. The CH4 and NO2 data utilized in this study were sourced from the european Space Agency (eSA), while that of tropospheric ozone (O3) was obtained from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the atmospheric parameters data were provided by the Nigeria Meteorological Agencies (NIMeT), Lagos. The analysis of the daily pollutants (CH4, NO2 and O3) including the atmospheric parameters in this region of the Niger Delta for the period 2003 to 2010 was carried out using standard statistical approach including the graphical method, stepwise regression model, least-square method, and correlation analysis. The Mann-Kendal rank statistics was also utilized in identifying the meaningful long-term trends, validation and testing of the homogeneity of the concentrations of the pollutants. The results of the correlations of CH4, NO2 and O3 concentrations with their previous day’s concentrations showed a strong significance in regression analysis for both CH4 and O3. The coefficient of determination of CH4 and O3 was obtained as 0.654 and 0.810 respectively, while a very weak correlation was obtained for NO2. However, despite that a v

AIM： To evaluate the effects of chlorella crude extract （CCe） on intestinal adaptation in rats subjected to short bowel syndrome （SBS）. MeTHODS： Wistar rats weighing 230-260 g were used in the study. After anesthesia a 75% small bowel resection was performed. Rats were randomized and divided into groups. Control group （n = 10）： where 5% dextrose was given through a gastrostomy tube, enteral nutrition （eN） group （n = 10）： Isocaloric and isonitrogen eN （Alitraq, Abbott, USA）, study group （n = 10）： CCe was administrated through a gastrostomy tube. Rats were sacrificed on the fifteenth pcstoperative day and blood and tissue samples were taken. Histopathologic evaluation, intestinal mucosal protein and DNA levels, intestinal proliferation and apoptosis were determined in intestinal tissues, and total protein, albumin and citrulline levels in blood were studied. ReSULTS： In rats receiving CCe, villus lengthening, crypt depth, mucosal DNA and protein levels, intestinal proliferation, and serum citrulline, protein and albumin levels were found to be significantly higher than those in control group. Apoptosis in CCe treated rats was significantly reduced when compared to eN group rats. CONCLUSION： CCe has beneficial effects on intestinal adaptation in experimental SBS.

In any completely close complex field C, generalized transcendental meromorphic functions may have some new properties. It is well known that a meromorphic function of characteristic zero is a rational function. This paper introduced some mathematical properties of the transcendental meromorphic function, which is generalized to the meromorphic function by multiplying and differentiating the generalized meromorphic function. The analysis shows that the difference between any non-zero constant and the derivative of the general meromorphic function has an infinite zero. In addition, for any natural number n, there are no practically exceptional values for the multiplication of the general meromorphic function and its derivative to the power of n.
