AIM: To estimate the frequency of microdeletions in the long arm of Y-chromosome of 20 infertile males from South India. MeTHODS: polymerase chain reaction (pCR) amplification using Y-specific STS of azoospermia factor (AZF) regions i.e., SY 84 for AZFa, SY 127 for AZFb and SY 254 for AZFc. ReSULTS: Of the 20 infertile subjects 3 (15 %), one azoospermic and two oligozoospermic, showed microdeletions in the AZF region of Y-chromosome. CONCLUSION: The frequency of deletions involving AZF region of the Y-chromosome is 15 % in azoospermic and severely oligozoospermic infertile men. pCR amplification of AZF locus is useful for the diagnosis of microdeletions in the Y-chromosome.

Single image super resolution(SISR)techniques produce images of high resolution(HR)as output from input images of low resolution(LR).Motivated by the effectiveness of deep learning methods,we provide a framework based on deep learning to achieve super resolution(SR)by utilizing deep singular-residual neural network(DSRNN)in training *** are obtained from the difference between HR and LR images to generate LR-residual example *** value decomposition(SVD)is applied to each LR-residual image pair to decompose into subbands of low and high frequency ***,DSRNN is trained on these subbands through input and output channels by optimizing the weights and biases of the *** fewer layers in DSRNN,the influence of exploding gradients is *** speeds up the learning process and also improves accuracy by using skip *** trained DSRNN parameters yield residuals to recover the HR subbands in the testing *** analysis shows that the proposed method results in superior performance to existingmethods in terms of subjective *** testing results on popular benchmark datasets such as set5,set14,and urban100 for a scaling factor of 4 show the effectiveness of the proposed method across different qualitative evaluation metrics.

Traditional e-commerce recommendation systems often struggle with dynamic user preferences and a vast array of products,leading to suboptimal user *** address this,our study presents a personalized Adaptive Multi-product Recommendation System(pAMR)leveraging transfer learning and Bi-GRU(Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Units).Using a large dataset of user reviews from Amazon and Flipkart,we employ transfer learning with pre-trained models(AlexNet,GoogleNet,ResNet-50)to extract high-level attributes from product data,ensuring effective feature representation even with limited ***-GRU captures both spatial and sequential dependencies in user-item *** innovation of this study lies in the innovative feature fusion technique that combines the strengths of multiple transfer learning models,and the integration of an attention mechanism within the Bi-GRU framework to prioritize relevant *** approach addresses the classic recommendation systems that often face challenges such as cold start along with data sparsity difficulties,by utilizing robust user and item *** model demonstrated an accuracy of up to 96.9%,with precision and an F1-score of 96.2%and 96.97%,respectively,on the Amazon dataset,significantly outperforming the baselines and marking a considerable advancement over traditional *** study highlights the effectiveness of combining transfer learning with Bi-GRU for scalable and adaptive recommendation systems,providing a versatile solution for real-world applications.

YBa_(2)Cu_(3)O_(y)(YBCO)foam samples show an open,porous foam structure,which may have benefits for many applications of high-Tc *** the basic material of these foams is a pseudo-single crystalline material with the directional growth initiated by a seed crystal similar to standard melt-textured samples,the texture of YBCO is a very important ***,we analysed the local texture and grain orientation of the individual struts forming the foam by means of atomic force microscopy(AFM)and electron backscatter diffraction(eBSD).Due to the processing route starting with Y_(2)BaCuO_(5)(211),a two-phase analysis must be performed,so a high surface quality is necessary to enable an automated eBSD *** quality Kikuchi patterns were obtained from both the YBCO and 211 *** found an inhomogeneous distribution of the residual 211 particles,which are mainly randomly oriented and have sizes ranging between 200 nm and 15μ*** contrast to this,the YBCO matrix shows a dominating orientation with cracks with a typical distance of 1-10μ***,the analysis of strut cross-sections reveals that the entire strut is converted to the YBCO phase.

In this communication,the electrical conductivities and thermal expansion studies of microwave sintered co-doped ceria Ce_(0.8)Y_(0.2-x)Dy_(x)O_(2-δ)(x=0,0.05,0.10,0.15 and 0.20) solid electrolyte materials for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells(IT-SOFCs)synthesized by sol-gel auto-combustion method were *** sintering at 1300℃ for 30 min was used for making dense powder *** relative densities of all the samples are noticed above 95%.Raman spectrum was characterized by the presence of a very strong band near 460 cm^(-1),which along with X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis ascertain the sample formation with a single-phase cubic fluorite *** lattice parameter values were calculated from XRD *** images show nearly uniform grains with distinct grain *** thermal expansion coefficients(TeCs) are found to vary linearly with temperature and were measured in the range from 14.15 to 13.20×10^(-6)℃^(-1).The investigation on total ionic conductivity(TIC) was executed with variation in dopant concentration and relative oxygen *** impedance analysis reveals that the sample Ce_(0.80)Y_(0.10)Dy_(0.10)O_(2-δ) displays the highest TIC,i.e.,7.5×10^(-3) S·cm^(-1) at 500℃ and minimum activation energy 0.90 eV compared to *** the highest TIC and minimum activation energy,the Ce_(0.80)Y_(0.10)Dy_(0.10)O_(2-δ)might be the possible material as the solid electrolyte in intermediate temperature SOFCs.

A series of titania nanoparticles and nanotubes deposited with various quantities of bismuth（Bi） were prepared via sol-gel and hydrothermal methods, respectively. They were then characterized using X-ray diffraction spectroscopy（XRD）, X-ray photo electron spectroscopy（XpS）, UV–Vis diffused reflectance spectra（DRS）, photoluminescence spectra（pLS）, transmission electron microscopy（TeM）, energy dispersive analysis of X-rays（eDAX）, and BeT surface analysis. These catalysts were employed for the photocatalytic production of hydrogen from a mixture of pure water and glycerol under solar light irradiation. The presence of the Bispecies was found to play a vital role in enhancing activity while minimizing electron hole recombination（relative to bare TiO）. The nanotubes exhibited better activity than the nanoparticles of Bi-deposited TiO, showing the significance of the morphology; however, photocatalytic activity is predominantly dependent on the deposition of bismuth. The activity increased by approximately an order of magnitude at the optimum concentration of Bi deposited over TiO（2 wt%）. The presence of the Bispecies played a vital role in minimizing electron hole recombination, resulting in higher activity compared to bare TiO.
