A new species of Chlamydomonas, namely, C. sajao nov. sp. of the Volvocales, Chlorophyta was isolated from a duckweed growing near a ricefield in the vicinity of Guangzhou, China. This interesting unicellular green alga, similar to C. mexicana from Mexico, secretes quantities of extracellular mucilaginous polysaccharides, and may be employed in improving soil quality. The new species resembles C. waldenburgensis Moewus in most characteristics but differs in three important features.

Nanopore-based devices have provided exciting opportunities to develop affordable label-free DNA sequencing *** a decade ago,graphene has been proposed as a two-dimensional(2D)nanopore membrane in order to achieve single-base ***,it was experimentally revealed that clogging of the graphene nanopore can occur due to the hydrophobic nature of graphene,thus hindering the translocation of *** overcome this problem,the exploration of alternative 2D materials has gained considerable interest over the last *** we show that a Ti_(2)C-based MXene nanopore functionalized by hydroxyl groups(–OH)exhibits transverse conductance properties that allow for the distinction between all four naturally occurring DNA *** have used a combination of density functional theory and non-equilibrium Green’s function method to sample over multiple orientations of the nucleotides in the nanopore,as generated from molecular dynamics *** conductance variation resulting from sweeping an applied gate voltage demonstrates that the Ti_(2)C-based MXene nanopore possesses high potential to rapidly and reliably sequence *** findings open the door to further theoretical and experimental explorations of MXene nanopores as a promising 2D material for nanopore-based DNA sensing.

Background:When non-operative management fails to improve symptoms in patients with non-insertional Achilles tendinopathy,surgery may be *** open and endoscopic techniques have been proposed,and platelet-rich plasma(PRP)injections have been proposed as an adjunct to aid tendon ***:Thirty-six patients with mid-portion Achilles tendinopathy were randomized to undergo endoscopic debridement alone(n=19)or in combination with intraoperative PRP application(n=17).Clinical outcome measures included the Visual Analogue Scale for pain,function,and satisfaction and the Victorian Institute of Sports Assessment-Achilles(VISA-A)*** were followed-up at 6 weeks,3months,6 months,and 12 months after *** MRI examination at 3 and 12 months was used to assess signal alterations within the ***:Both groups showed significant clinical improvement(p<0.05)after surgery,with no difference between the 2 *** diameter increased at 3 months and decreased at 12 *** tendinopathy area increased at 3 months and decreased at 12 months below baseline level in both *** was no significant difference between the groups regarding the MRI *** thickening and MRIdetected signal alteration persisted after surgery,with no association between imaging and clinical *** minor complications were reported:2 in the PRP group and 3 in the control ***:Endoscopic debridement of the Achilles tendon improved clinical outcomes in patients with mid-portion *** addition of PRP did not improve outcomes compared to debridement *** parameters showed no association with clinical outcomes.

A class of asynchronous matrix multi-splitting multi-parameter relaxation methods, including the asynchronous matrix multisplitting SAOR, SSOR and SGS methods as well. as the known asynchronous matrix multisplitting AOR, SOR and GS methods, etc., is proposed for solving the large sparse systems of linear equations by making use of the principle of sufficiently using the delayed information. These new methods can greatly execute the parallel computational efficiency of the MIMD-systems, and are shown to be convergent when the coefficient matrices are H-matrices. Moreover, necessary and sufficient conditions ensuring the convergence of these methods are concluded for the case that the coefficient matrices are L-matrices.

Two types of filters are widely used to remove semidirunal and diurnal tidal signals and other high frequency noises in *** first type of filters uses moving average with weights in time domain,and can be easily *** data will be lost at each end of the time series,especially for the low low-pass *** second type of filters uses the discrete Fourier transform filter(DFTF)which operates in the frequency domain,and there are no data loss at the ends for the forward ***,owing to the Gibbs phenomenon and the discrete sampling(Nyquist effect),ringing appears in the inverse transformed data,which is especially serious at each *** some data at the ends are also *** present study tries to find out what causes the ringing and then to seek for methods to overcome the *** have found that there are two kinds of ringings,one is the Gibbs phenomenon,as defined *** other is the'Nyquist'ringing due to sampling Nyquist critical *** former is due to the abrupt transition in frequency *** Gibbs and Nyquist effects show the ringing at each end of the filtered time ***,the use of a cosine taper or a linear taper on the window in the frequency domain makes the transition band smooth,so that the Gibbs phenomenon will be *** applying the Fast Fourier Transform(FFT),the original time series at each end is properly tapered by a split cosine bell that reduces significant ringing since this method limits the energy transfer from outside of the Nyquist ***,the DFTF can be a powerful tool to suppress the signals in which we are not interested,with sharp peaks in low frequency variation and less data loss at each end.

The Korean peninsula is witnessing historic events and a dramatic improvement in relations between the two Koreas and their allies. However, there must be caution not only over the true intentions of all actors involved, but also the approach taken to the renewed relations must be carefully considered. In the past engagement policies have been tried and failed, whilst the US has committed itself firmly to a pre-condition that the DPRK foregoes its nuclear weapons program and denuclearizes. This paper argues that the US policy is flawed in that the demand of CVID does not create any spillovers for future relations to be bound by, as shown by the 1994 Agreed Framework. As such, an engagement policy should be employed that follows characteristics of West Germany’s Ostpolitik in the 1970s and Kim Daejung’s Sunshine Policy.
