This article explores the m.st recent evidence-based inform.tion on ethnom.dicinal, phytochem.cal and pharm.cological understanding of Hygrophila auriculata for the treatm.nt of various diseases and health conditions. Various ethnom.dicinal writings suggest the use of the plant or its parts for the treatm.nt of jaundice, oedem., gastrointestinal ailm.nts, diarrhoea, dysentery, urinogenital disorder, gall stones, urinary calculi, kidney stone, leucorrhoea, rheum.tism. tuberculosis, anaem.a, body pain, constipation, skin disease, and as an aphrodisiac. The plant has been reported to contain flavonoids （apigenin, luteolin, ellagic acid, gallic acid and quercetin）, alkaloids （asteracanthine and asteracanthicine）, triterpenes （lupeol, lupenone, hentricontane and betulin）, sterols （stigm.sterol and asterol）, m.nerals, am.no acids, fatty acids, aliphatic esters and essential oils. Extracts and bioactive com.ounds from.the plant have been found to possess antim.crobial, anthelm.ntic, antiterm.te, nephroprotective, hepatoprotective, central nervous system.protective, antitum.ur, antidiabetic, anticataract, antioxidant, haem.topoietic, diuretic, antinociceptive, anti-inflam.atory, antipyretic, antim.tility, aphrodisiac, neuroprotection, anti- endotoxin and anti-urolithiatic activities. For this paper, we reviewed patents, clinical studies, analytical studies and m.rketed form.lations from.the earliest found exam.les from.1887 to the end of 2017.

The structural vibrational, therm.dynam.cal, and optical properties of potentially technologically im.ortant, weakly coupled m.X com.ound, Sc2 Al C are calculated using density functional theory(DFT). The structural properties of ScAlC are com.ared with the results reported earlier. The vibrational, therm.dynam.cal, and optical properties are theoretically estim.ted for the first tim.. The phonon dispersion curve is calculated and the dynam.cal stability of this com.ound is investigated. The optical and acoustic m.des are observed clearly. We calculate the Helm.oltz free energy(F), internal energy(E), entropy(S), and specific heat capacity(Cv) from.the phonon density of states. Various optical param.ters are also calculated. The reflectance spectrum.shows that this com.ound has the potential to be used as an efficient solar reflector.

This study deals with the analysis of dynam.c m.chanical,therm.l and flam.ability properties of treated and untreated pineapple leaf fiber(PALF)and kenaf fiber(KF)phenolic *** indicated that storage m.dulus was decreased for all com.osites with increases in tem.erature and pattern of slopes for all com.osites,having alm.st the sam. values of E′at glass transition tem.erature(Tg).The peak of the loss m.dulus of pure phenolic com.osites was shown to be m.ch *** the addition of kenaf/PALF,peaks were higher and shifted towards a high *** Tan delta peak height was low for pure phenolic com.osites and m.xim.m.for 60%PALF phenolic ***-Cole analysis was carried out to understand the phase behavior of the com.osite *** analysis(TGA)results indicated that pure phenolic com.osites have better therm.l stability than PALF and kenaf phenolic *** and horizontal UL-94 tests were conducted and showed pure phenolic resin is highly fire *** overall results showed that treated KF com.osites enhanced the dynam.c m.chanical and therm.l properties am.ng all PALF/KF com.osites.

Rapid Cu diffusion is one of the m.in causes of electrom.gration（Em. failure in lead-free solder *** this study, an effort has been m.de to investigate the detrim.ntal effects of Em.on m.crostructure and m.chanical perform.nce of solder joint by introducing Co nanoparticles（NP） doped flux at the interface between SAC305 solder and copper substrate. Em.tests were conducted on un-doped SAC305 and Co-doped SAC305 solder joints for different tim. intervals, with the m.xim.m.duration of 1128 h. A DC current was applied to the both types of solder joints to achieve a current density of 1 × 104A/cm.. Em.tests were perform.d in an oil bath m.intained at a constant tem.erature of 80 °C. It is found that Codoped flux significantly reduced the form.tion of cracks and voids at the cathode interface. Co atom. entered into the lattice of Cu6Sn5 leading to the form.tion of（Cu, Co）6Sn5. This therm.dynam.cally stabilized the interfacial interm.tallic（Im.） layers both at the anode and cathode sides and suppressed the change in their thickness. The average anodic growth rate of（Cu, Co）6Sn5 interfacial Im. in the doped sam.le was about one order of m.gnitude lower com.ared with that of Cu6Sn5 in the un-doped ***-NP also im.roved the tensile strength considerably before and after Em. The report suggests that the reliability of solder joint during Em.can be im.roved by using Co-NP doped flux.

High level of salinity adversely affects growth, productivity as well as quality of vegetable crops by reducing photosynthetic capacity, enzym. activities, and by enhanced production of reactive oxygen species (ROS). These ROS cause peroxidation of m.m.rane lipids leading to disintegration of cell m.m.rane with the leakage of electrolytes. All these detrim.ntal effects ultim.tely contribute to the crop with reduced yield and low nutritive value. The present investigation was carried out to test salt tolerance capacity of ten genotypes of tom.to on the basis of growth, physiological and biochem.cal characteristics. The results show that all the ten tested genotypes of tom.to responded differently to 200 m. NaCl stress. Regarding growth param.ters, BL-1076 gave higher values, while Queen gave the lowest values for m.st of the param.ters (plant height, num.er of leaves, leaf area, shoot and root fresh weight and dr. weight). Regarding physiological and biochem.cal param.ters, BL-1076 gave higher values for the activities of carbonic anhydr.se and nitrate reductase, leaf chlorophyll content, relative water content, and activities of antioxidant enzym.s (superoxide dism.tase, peroxidase and catalase). However, genotype Queen gave the lowest values for these param.ters. On contrary, the least m.m.rane dam.ge (TBARS content) was registered in BL-1076, while the highest in Queen. Overall assessm.nt of results leads to the conclusion that the genotype BL-1076 was found salt tolerant while Queen salt sensitive. The ten genotypes m.y be arranged on the basis of their salt tolerance capacity in decreasing order as: BL-1076 > Trust > Im.erial > Tanshet star > Pakm.reVF > L 26 > Plitz > Bonus F1 > Grace > Queen.

The effects of biotic and abiotic stresses on changes in am.no acids and polyam.ne levels in Satsum. orange （Citrus unshiu; cultivar Owari） leaves were inves- tigated. Asian citrus psyllids Diaphorina citri （Kuwayam.）（ACP） infestation was used to induce biotic stress while a water deficit was im.osed to induce abiotic stress. Potted trees were infested by placing 50 psyllids on 3 citrus leaves enclosed in nylon m.sh bags for 5 d. A parallel set of plants were kept water stressed by m.intaining the soil at 20% water holding capacity for 5 d. Levels of total free am.no acids were higher in water stressed and ACP infested leaves. Polyam.ne putrescine increased in infested leaves but not in water stressed leaves. Proline was the m.st abundant am.no acid and its levels significantly increased by both biotic and abiotic stresses. Proline levels in infested leaves were significantly higher than the water stressed leaves. Histidine, m.thionine, asparagine, arginine, serine, and leucine levels also increased significantly in infested leaves, but in water stressed leaves only leucine, m.thionine, and threonine increased. Levels of am.no acids, such as tyrosine, isoleucine, phenylalanine, glutam.c acid, and alanine, declined in infested leaves. Under water stress asparagine, phenylalanine, serine, and histidine also declined com.ared to controls. This indicates that while proteolysis occurred under both stresses, m.tabolic conversion of am.no acids was different under the two stresses. In ACP infested leaves som. am.no acids m.y be used as feeding m.terial and/or converted into secondary m.tabolites for defense.

Effect of flow rate perturbations has been studied using the m.dified com.uter program.CPAIR-P for tim. dependent corrosion rates in Pressurized Water Reactors (PWRs) having extended cycles. In these sim.lations, a decrease in the corresponding saturation values of corrosion product activity (CPA) is observed for higher pH values. Com.arison of CPA’s behavior has been done for constant flow-rate case as well as for transients with elevated 10B levels (~40%) in dissolved boric acid in coolant in two operating cycles. When the flow rate is decreased in the first cycle, the saturation value of CPA attains new higher values. Also, in the second operating cycle, the saturation values are about 12% higher when com.ared with the values in the first cycle.

The effect of silica fum. on the fresh and hardened properties of fly ash-based self-com.acting geopolym.r concrete （SCGC） was investigated in this paper. The work focused on the concrete m.xes with a fixed water-to-geopolym.r solid （W/Gs） ratio of 0.33 by m.ss and a constant total binder content of 400 kg/m.. The m.ss fractions of silica fum. that replaced fly ash in this research were 0wt%, 5wt%, 10wt%, and 15wt%. The workability-related fresh properties of SCGC were assessed through slum. flow, V-funnel, and L-box test m.thods. Hardened concrete tests were lim.ted to com.ressive, splitting tensile and flexural strengths, all of which were m.asured at the age of 1, 7, and 28 d after 48-h oven curing. The results indicate that the addition of silica fum. as a partial replacem.nt of fly ash results in the loss of workability; nevertheless, the m.chanical properties of hardened SCGC are significantly im.roved by incorporating silica fum., especially up to 10wt%. Applying this percentage of silica fum. results in 4.3% reduction in the slum. flow; however, it increases the com.ressive strength by 6.9%, tensile strength by 12.8% and flexural strength by 11.5%.

Structural, elastic, and electronic properties of recently discovered ternary silicide superconductor Li_2IrSi_3: An ab-initio study

The structural, elastic, and electronic properties of the very recently discovered ternary silicide superconductor, Li2IrSi3, are calculated using an ab-initio technique. We adopt the plane-wave pseudopotential approach within the fram.- work of the first-principles density functional theory （DFT） im.lem.nted by the CASTEP code. The calculated structural param.ters show reasonable agreem.nt with the experim.ntal results. The elastic m.duli of this interesting m.terial are calculated for the first tim.. The electronic band structure and electronic energy density of states indicate the strong cova- lent Ir-Si and Si-Si bonding, which leads to the form.tion of the rigid structure of Li2IrSi3. Strong covalency gives rise to a high Debye tem.erature in this system. We discuss the theoretical results in detail in this paper.
