Assessm.nt of Socio-Econom.c Im.acts of the Decem.er 2011 Flood Event in Dar es Salaam. Tanzania

Floods are the m.st devastating hazards that have significant adverse im.acts on people and their livelihoods. Their im.acts can be reduced by investing on: 1) im.roving the forecasting skills of extrem. and heavy rainfall events, 2) developm.nt of Im.acts Based Flood Early Warning System.(IBFEWS) and 3) effective com.unication of im.acts from.anticipated extrem. or heavy rainfall event. The developm.nt of IBFEWS however, requires a com.lete understanding of factors that relates to the form.tion of extrem. or heavy rainfall events and their associated socio-econom.c im.acts. This inform.tion is crucial in the developm.nt of Im.acts Based Flood Forecasting m.dels (IBFFm.). In this study, we assess the socio-econom.c im.acts of the Decem.er 2011 flood event in Dar es Salaam.as the prelim.nary stage in the developm.nt of IBFFm. for the City of Dar es Salaam. Data from.household survey collected using system.tic random.sam.ling techniques and structured questionnaires are used. The survey was conducted to acquire respondent’s views on the causes of floods im.acts, adaptive capacity to extrem. or heavy rainfall events and adaptation options to m.nim.ze flood im.act. It is found that the m.in causes of floods were river overflow due to heavy rainfall and blocked drainage system. Poor infrastructure such as drainage and sewage system., and ocean surge were identified to be the causes of observed im.acts of the Decem.er 2011 flood event in Dar es Salaam. Death cases analysis showed that 43 people were reported dead. The flood event dam.ged properties worth of 7.5 m.llion Tanzania shillings. Furtherm.re, the Tanzania Governm.nt spent a total am.unt of 1.83 billion Tanzanian shillings to rescue and relocate vulnerable com.unities that lived-in low-lying areas of Jagwani to high ground areas of m.bwepande in Kinondoni district.

Obesity is one of the diseases with severe health consequences and rapidly increasing worldwide *** the com.lex network of food intake and energy balance regulation is an essential prerequisite for pharm.cological intervention with obesity.G protein-coupled receptors(GPCRs)are am.ng the m.in m.dulators of m.tabolism.and energy ***,for instance,regulate appetite and satiety in certain hypothalam.c neurons,as well as glucose and lipid m.tabolism.and horm.ne secretion from.*** in som. GPCRs,such as the m.lanocortin receptor type 4(m.4R),have been associated with early-onset ***,we identified the adhesion GPCR latrophilin 1(ADGRL1/LPHN1)as a m.m.er of the regulating network governing food intake and the m.intenance of energy *** of the highly conserved receptor in m.ce results in increased food consum.tion and severe obesity,accom.anied by dysregulation of glucose ***,we identified a partially inactivating m.tation in hum.n ADGRL1/LPHN1 in a patient suffering from.***,we propose that LPHN1 dysfunction is a risk factor for obesity developm.nt.

Background:Exam.nation anxiety is a concern for educational policym.kers because of the im.act it can have on the overall outcom. of the perform.nce of the candidates who partake in such ***:The aim.of this study is to determ.ne the exam.nation anxiety level of students of Nursing and m.dwifery College,Agogo,and Presbyterian University College and to evaluate the factors affecting *** and m.thods:A total of 160 undergraduate nursing students com.rising 80 degree and 80 diplom. students were conveniently sam.led for the *** study was conducted in Septem.er 2019 using a descriptive cross-sectional *** Westside Test Anxiety Scale was used to m.asure exam.nation anxiety am.ng the participants.A researcher-designed questionnaire in which participants responded to a three-point Likert scale was used to assess factors influencing exam.nation ***:The findings of the study showed that test anxiety was higher am.ng the diplom. candidates(m.3.60)than the degree candidates(m.2.95)and the difference was statistically significant(P=0.024).Dem.graphic characteristics such as age(P=0.009),sex(P=0.003),study hours per day(P=0.001)were found to be significantly associated with test *** factors found to influence exam.nation anxiety am.ng students were volum. of m.terials to study(P=0.044),level of preparation(P=0.005)perceived difficulty of the questions(P=0.033)and m.th about exam.nations(P=0.000).The perceived im.ortance of the exam.nation(P=0.057)and schedule of the exam.(P=0.68)did not influence exam.nation ***:Candidates for the licensure exam.nation organized by the Nursing and m.dwifery Council of Ghana should be assessed for test anxiety and offered the necessary psychological support where necessary.

While wing form.is known to differ between m.les and fem.les of the genus Culicoides,detailed studies of sexual dim.rphism.are *** this study,we analyze sex-specific differences in the wing form.of 5 species of the subgenus Avaritia,using geom.tric m.rphom.trics and com.arative phylogenetic *** results confirm.the existence of m.rked sexual dim.rphism.in the wing form.of the studied species and reveal for the first tim. that while there is a shared general pattern of sexual shape dim.rphism.within the subgenus,sexual size dim.rphism.and particular features of sexual shape dim.rphism.differ am.ng *** shape dim.rphism.was found to be poorly associated to size and the evolutionary history of the *** tight association of sexual shape dim.rphism.with aspect ratio suggests that the shape of the wing is optim.zed for the type of flight of each sex,that is,dispersal flight in fem.les versus aerobatic flight in ***,the fact that interspecific shape differences are greater and m.re strongly associated to aspect ratio in m.les than in fem.les m.ght be indicating that in m.les the selective pressures affecting flight perform.nce characteristics are m.re heterogeneous and/or stronger than in fem.les am.ng the studied species.

环氧树脂是一种多官能交联聚合物,具有优良的耐化学腐蚀性、力学性能、热学性能、电绝缘性及粘接性能,它能够粘接玻璃、金属等多种基材,且固化后具有较低的收缩性能使拥有其良好的焊接性能。为了满足在物理机械性能上的特殊要求,环氧树脂常常与固化剂配合使用。然而,环氧树脂由于其内部结构原因存在较大的脆性,不足以吸收并分散压力,使其在航空航天等需要较大耐冲击性及抗断强度的领域的应用受到了较大限制。因此,在保持其原有的高模量、高玻璃化转变温度、低成本的基础上降低环氧树脂的介电常数,开发出制备高韧性环氧树脂的方法,将会扩大环氧树脂的应用领域。本论文采用含有活性羧基与羟基官能团的聚酰亚胺低聚物与两种环氧树脂(双官能团环氧和四官能环氧)混合,旨在研究酰亚胺类低聚物与两树脂的兼容性及其对所制备而成的基体树脂性能的影响。本论文主要分成四个部分：1)采用本胺盐酸盐为催化剂合成DAHTm.体,并对其进行表征;2)制备CIDAHTm.CIBAPP聚酰亚胺低聚物,并对其进行表征;3)通过在环氧树脂中加入聚酰亚胺低聚物制备高性能基体树脂,并对其性能进行研究;4)采用改性E51及TGDDm.种环氧树脂制备玻璃纤维增强复合材料,并对其性能进行研究。首先,采用苯胺与对羟基苯甲醛为原材料,以苯胺盐酸盐为催化剂进行缩合反应合成DAHTm.体,之后通过红外光谱、熔点等手段对其进行表征。采用DAHTm.BAPP分别与Tm.进行两步缩聚反应制备CIDAHTm.CIBAPP酰亚胺类低聚物,红外光谱表征证明亚胺化完全。将本论文所制备的酰亚胺类低聚物,按不同的比例加入到E51与TGDDm.氧树脂中对其进行改性。其中样P-EP1、样P-EP2、样P-EP3和样P-EP4为CIDAHTm.聚物改性环氧树脂,样P-EP5.P-EP6.P-EP7.P-EP8和P-EP9为CIBAPP低聚物改性环氧树脂。采用固状CIDAHTm.亚胺类低聚物改性的环氧树脂的活化能为54.8～64.1kJ/m.l,吸水率为1.4%～1.8%,表面能为44.8～45.9m./m.,拉伸剪切强度为10.7～24.6m.a。以液状CIDAHTm.酰亚胺低聚物改性的环氧树脂的活化能为38.9～53.8kJ/m.l,吸水率为2.6%,表面能为48.9～61.5m./m.,拉伸剪切强度为2.8～11.7m.a。另外,采用液状CIBAPP低聚物改性的基体树脂样品的活化能为46.0～54.2kJ/m.l,吸水率为0.4%,表面能为43.6～53.3m./m.,拉伸剪切强度为17.8～33.3m.a。改性基体树脂的性能测试结果表明：所有样品的表面能均小于水,说明该基体树脂具有良好的疏水性;在85℃、85%RH的环境下,除了液状CIDAHTm.聚物改性的环氧基体树脂,其他样品的吸水率均小于多数基体树脂的平均吸水率(2%-3%)。这证明了聚酰亚胺低聚物提高了环氧树脂的疏水性。采用CIBAPP改性的环氧树脂具有最低的吸水率,且其力学性能好于用CIDAHTm.亚胺类低聚物改性的环氧树脂,相比之下证明,CIBAPP与双官能环氧及四官能环氧的兼容性更好,且当E51与TGDDm.60：40混合时,其力学性能最佳。当环氧基体树脂组成为E51:TGDDm.60：40时,呈现出最佳的力学性能,因此,本论文采用该组成作为玻璃纤维增强复合材料的基体树脂配方,并对所得的玻璃纤维复合材料进行了性能研究。实验结果表明所得的玻璃纤维增强复合材料的介电强度为197kV/cm.体积电阻为2.1×***,纵向应力与横向应力分别为686m.a和631m.a,吸水率为0.18%,表面能为43.6m./m.,介电常数为4.9。

AIm.To assess potential benefits of an additional unenhanced acquisition in com.uted tom.graphy angiography(CTA) in patients with suspected acute aortic syndrom.(AAS).m.THODS A total of 103 aortic CTA(non-electrocardiography-gated, 128 slices) perform.d due to suspected AAS were retrospectively evaluated for acute aortic dissection(AAD), intram.ral hem.tom.(Im.), or penetrating aortic ulcer(PAU). Spiral CTA protocol consisted of an unenhanced acquisition and an arterial phase. If AAS was detected, a venous phase(delay, 90 s) was added. Im.ges were evaluated for the presence and extent of AAD, Im., PAU, and related com.lications. The diagnostic benefit of the unenhanced acquisition was evaluated concerning detection of *** Fifty-six(30% wom.n; m.an age, 67 years; m.dian, 68 years) of the screened individuals had AAD or Im.. A triphasic CT scan was conducted in 76.8%(n =43). 56% of the detected AAD were classified as Stanford type A, 44% as Stanford type B. 53.8% of the detected Im. were classified as Stanford type A, 46.2% as Stanford type B. There was no significant difference in the involvem.nt of the ascending aorta between AAD and Im.(P = 1.0) or in the average age between AAD and Im.(P = 0.548), between Stanford type A and Stanford type B in general(P = 0.650) and between Stanford type A and Stanford type B within the entities of AAD and Im.(AAD: P = 0.785; Im.: P = 0.146). Only the unenhanced acquisitions showed a significant density difference between the adjacent lum.n and the Im.(P = 0.035). Subadventitial hem.tom. involving the pulm.nary trunk was present in 5 patients(16%) with Stanford A AAD. The difference between the m.dian radiation exposure of a triphasic(2737 m.y*cm. com.ared to a biphasic CT scan(2135 m.y*cm. was not significant(P = 0.135).CONCLUSION Im. is a com.on and difficult to detect entity of AAS. Lipoxygenase(LOX)is an im.ortant contributor to the form.tion of arom.-active C6 aldehydes in apple(m.lus×dom.stica)fruit upon tissue disruption but little is known about its role in autonom.usly produced arom. volatiles from.intact *** explored the expression of 22 putative LOX genes in apple throughout ripening,but only six LOXs were expressed in a ripening-dependent *** LOX1:m.:1a,LOX1:m.:1c,LOX2:m.:2a and LOX2:m.:2b proteins showed 13/9-LOX,9-LOX,13/9-LOX and 13-LOX activity with linoleic acid,*** products of LOX1:m.:1c and LOX2:m.:2b were S-configured,LOX1:m.:1a and LOX2:m.:2a form.d 13(R)-hydroperoxides as m.jor ***-directed m.tagenesis of Gly567 to an alanine converted the dual positional specific LOX1:m.:1a to an enzym. with a high specificity for 9(S)-hydroperoxide *** high expression level of the corresponding m.LOX1a gene in stored apple fruit,the genetic association with a quantitative trait locus for fruit ester and the rem.rkable agreem.nt in regio-and stereoselectivity of the LOX1:m.:1a reaction with the overall LOX activity found in m.ture apple fruits,suggest a m.jor physiological function of LOX1:m.:1a during clim.cteric ripening of *** LOX1:m.:1c,LOX2:m.:2a and LOX2:m.:2b m.y contribute to aldehyde production in im.ature fruit upon cell disruption our results furnish additional evidence that LOX1:m.:1a probably regulates the availability of precursors for ester production in intact fruit tissue.
