Numerical simulation of melt flow and temperature field during DC casting 2024 aluminium alloy under different casting conditions

Casting speed,casting temperature and secondary cooling water flow rate are the main process parameters affecting the DC casting *** parameters significantly influence the flow and temperature fields during casting,which are crucial for the quality of the ingot and can determine the success or failure of the casting *** simulation,with the advantages of low cost,rapid execution,and visualized results,is an important method to study and optimize the DC casting *** the present work,a simulation model of DC casting 2024 aluminum alloy was established,and the reliability of the model was ***,the influence of casting parameters on flow field and temperature field was studied in detail by numerical simulation *** show that with the increase of casting speed,the melt flow becomes faster,the depths of slurry zone and mushy zone increase,and the variation of slurry zone depth is greater than that of mushy *** an increase in casting temperature,the melt flow rate increases,the depth of the slurry zone becomes shallower,and the depth of the mushy zone experiences only minor *** simulation results further indicate that the increase of the flow rate of the secondary cooling water slightly reduces the depths of both slurry and mushy zone.

Analysis of pseudo-random number generators in QMC-SSE method

In the quantum Monte Carlo(QMC)method,the pseudo-random number generator(PRNG)plays a crucial role in determining the computation ***,the hidden structure of the PRNG may lead to serious issues such as the breakdown of the Markov ***,we systematically analyze the performance of different PRNGs on the widely used QMC method known as the stochastic series expansion(SSE)*** quantitatively compare them,we introduce a quantity called QMC efficiency that can effectively reflect the efficiency of the *** testing several representative observables of the Heisenberg model in one and two dimensions,we recommend the linear congruential generator as the best choice of *** work not only helps improve the performance of the SSE method but also sheds light on the other Markov-chain-based numerical algorithms.

Undercooling solidification under a magnetic field(UMF)is an effective way to tailor the microstructure and properties of Co-based *** this study,by attributing to the UMF treatment,the strength−ductility trade-off dilemma in GH605 superalloy is successfully *** UMF treatment can effectively refine the grains and increase the solid solubility,leading to the high yield *** main deformation mechanism in the as-forged alloy is dislocation *** contrast,multiple deformation mechanisms,including stacking faults,twining,dislocation slipping,and their strong interactions are activated in the UMF-treated sample during compression deformation,which enhances the strength and ductility *** addition,the precipitation of hard Laves phases along the grain boundaries can be obtained after UMF treatment,hindering crack propagation during compression deformation.

Cobalt-Aluminum layered double hydroxide(CoAl LDH) is a hopeful electrode material due to the advantage of easy modifiability for preparing LDH-based ***,there is short of modification methods to prepare the Co-based derivatives from CoAl LDH and also short of an intuitive perspective to analyze the pseudocapacitance mechanism of CoAl LDH and its ***,Graphene/CoAl LDH and its derivatives including Graphene/CoS,Graphene/CoS-1,Graphene/CoOOH,Graphene/CoP were prepared by reasonably using alkali etching treatment,sulfofication and *** specific capacitance of Graphene/CoAl LDH,Graphene/CoS,Graphene/CoS-1,Graphene/CoOOH,Graphene/CoP at1 A g^(-1) are 260.7,371.3,440.8,61.4 and 122.2 F g^(-1),*** pseudocapacitance mechanism of Graphene/CoAl LDH and its derivatives was *** to the positive effect of sulfofication on the electrical conductivity of GO and cobalt sulfide,the Graphene/CoS and Graphene/CoS-1 exhibit the optimal electrochemical performance and superior rate *** addition,due to the repulsion effect between Graphene and OH-,the Graphene/CoAl LDH exhibits optimal cycling stability of 224.1% capacitance retention after 20000 ***,the reason of terrible specific capacitance of Graphene/CoOOH is that the presence of H bond in interlayer of CoOOH inhibits the interaction between Co3+ and ***,not all modifications will increase the specific capacitance of the electrode ***,this work provides us with a detailed analysis of the electrochemical mechanism and correlation of CoAl LDH and its derivatives from the perspective of crystal structure and composition.

L^p and L~∞ Norm Estimates of the Cost of the Controllability for Heat Equations

This paper is concerned with the bound of the cost of approximate controllability and null controllability of heat equations, i.e., the minimal Lp norm and L∞ norm of a control needed to control the system approximately or a control needed to steer the state of the system to zero. The methods we use combine observability inequalities, energy estimates for heat equations and the dual theory.

Landfill leachate production, quality and recirculation treatment in northeast China

Landfill leachate recirculation treatment process is a promising and economic way in northeast China due to the distinct season variation. In order to study the impact of recirculation on leachate production and its quality, two simulated sanitary landfill reactors, one with leachate recirculation and the other without, were placed outdoor in Harbin. The two-year experimental results indicated that leachate production was reduced by 86% with leachate recirculation and less or no facility for leachate treatment required. Recirculation could improve the leachate quality dramatically with lower COD, SS, NF4-N and higher pH level. Recirculation also could enhance waste degradation and stabilization and improve the efficiency of landfill. This study confirmed that leachate recirculation was a very feasible way for on-site landfill leachate treatment in cold areas.

Numerical simulation of PAHs sorption/desorption on soil with the influence of Tween80

In this paper, the influences of inionic surfactant Tween80 on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons （PAHs） sorption/desorption on artificially contaminated soil were studied, and γ model was applied to simulate the influences. Results showed that, with the use of Tween 80, the sorption behaviors of PAHs on soil altered significantly. Adsorbed Tween 80 increased the sorption amount of PAHs while the dissolved Tween80 increased the apparent solubility of PAHs. These two processes exert influences on the sorption coefficient of PAHs in soil-water system, which can be depicted by apparent sorption coefficient. The partition coefficients （the soil/water partition coefficient of PAHs and surfactants obtained fxom sorption experiments） and statistical parameters used in the amended γ model were obtained in independent experiments. With these parameters, the γ model could provide a satisfactory independent prediction of PAHs release from soil to aqueous phase at two surfactant concentrations.

Twisted Integration of Complex Oxide Magnetoelectric Heterostructures via Water‑Etching and Transfer Process

Manipulating strain mode and degree that can be applied to epitaxial complex oxide thin films have been a cornerstone of strain *** recent years,lift-off and transfer technology of the epitaxial oxide thin films have been developed that enabled the integration of heterostructures without the limitation of material types and crystal ***,twisted integration would provide a more interesting strategy in artificial magnetoelectric heterostructures.A specific twist angle between the ferroelectric and ferromagnetic oxide layers corresponds to the distinct strain regulation modes in the magnetoelectric coupling process,which could provide some insight in to the physical *** this work,the La_(0.67)Sr_(0.33)MnO_(3)(001)/0.7Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)-0.3PbTiO_(3)(011)(LSMO/PMN-PT)heterostructures with *** *** angles were assembled via water-etching and transfer *** transferred LSMO films exhibit a fourfold magnetic anisotropy with easy axis along LSMO.A coexistence of uniaxial and fourfold magnetic anisotropy with LSMO[110]easy axis is observed for the 45°Sample by applying a 7.2 kV cm^(−1)electrical field,significantly different from a uniaxial anisotropy with LSMO[100]easy axis for the 0°*** fitting of the ferromagnetic resonance field reveals that the strain coupling generated by the 45°twist angle causes different lattice distortion of LSMO,thereby enhancing both the fourfold and uniaxial *** work confirms the twisting degrees of freedom for magnetoelectric coupling and opens opportunities for fabricating artificial magnetoelectric heterostructures.
