Mesoporous,hollow Zn O microspheres were synthesized via a hydrothermal method,using glycerol and zinc acetate as the starting *** and FESEM analysis showed that the surface morphology of the spheres with a Wurtzite structure could be reasonably adjusted by varying the weight ratio（Rw） of Zn（CH3COO）2 2H2O：H2O：*** responses of the gas sensor based on the spheres to 100 ppm ethanol and 100 ppm acetone are 18.9 and 10.4,*** response and recovery times of the sensor to ethanol and acetone are 2 s and 3 s,3 s and 5 s,*** hollow spheres show an intense UV emission at 392 nm and a broad blue-green emission at 488 ***,a light trapping phenomenon is revealed by UV emission and scattering measurements on the microspheres,which can be attributed to the mesoporous shell and hollow structure of the microsphere.

o-Chloro-hexaarylbiimidazole (o-CI-HABI) can be sensitized efficiently by cyanine dyes, the cyclopentanone and cyclohexanone dyes, when exposed to xenon lamp (use filter cut lambda less than or equal to 400 nm). The photoreaction between the photoinitiator and the dyes was completed through an electron transfer process. Excellent results have been obtained in photoimaging studies, e.g. the resolution of the image can reach 7 mum. The influence of the content of the dyes and the heat after the exposure on the resolution of the image was investigated.

The inclusion interaction between three types of methylated-β-cyclodextrins （Me-β-CDs） and albendazole （ABZ） was studied by spectrofluorimetry. The result showed that Me-β-CDs reacted with ABZ to form an inclusion complex, 1： 1 stoichiometry for Me- β-CDs-ABZ complex was established and its association constant have been determined from fluorescence data by Benesi- Hildebrand＇s method （double reciprocal plots）. It was noted that 2,6-DM-β-CD exhibited stronger binding ability than other Me-β- CDs. Based on the significant enhancement of fluorescence intensity of inclusion complex, a simple and highly sensitive fluorimetric method is proposed for the determination of ABZ in the presence of 2,6-DM-β-CD. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of ABZ in tablets and human urine.

The random copolymer poly （1, 3-pentadiene-co-styrene） formed through cationic copolymerization using the ~ethylamine hydrochloride and hydrous aluminium chloride （Et3NHCl-AlCl3） room temperature ionic liquid as initiating agent in toluene was analyzed using IR spectra in conjunction with gel permeation chromatography （GPC）. The room temperature ionic liquid was found to have high initiatic activity for copolymerization.

As a hot-melt adhesive, ethylene-vinyl-acetate （EVA） has been used in many industrial applications. But studies of the application of EVA in wood-plastic composites （WPC） are relatively few, so we have investigated the proposition of whether EVA is a suitable coupling agent for WPC or not. The results show that EVA with 8% VA is not a suitable coupling agent, because it reduces the mechanical properties of WPC without any significant effect on its physical properties. With an increase in the amount of wood powder, the mechanical properties of WPC decrease and the ability of water absorption of WPC increases.

This review summarizes and describes the use of curcumin in diagnosis,prevention,and treatment of Alzheimer＇s *** diagnosis of Alzheimer＇s disease,amyloid-β and highly phosphorylated tau protein are the major *** was developed as an early diagnostic probe based on its natural fluorescence and high binding affinity to amyloid-β.Because of its multi-target effects,curcumin has protective and preventive effects on many chronic diseases such as cerebrovascular disease,hypertension,and *** prevention and treatment of Alzheimer＇s disease,curcumin has been shown to effectively maintain the normal structure and function of cerebral vessels,mitochondria,and synapses,reduce risk factors for a variety of chronic diseases,and decrease the risk of Alzheimer＇s *** effect of curcumin on Alzheimer＇s disease involves multiple signaling pathways：anti-amyloid and metal iron chelating properties,antioxidation and anti-inflammatory ***,there is a scientific basis for the rational application of curcumin in prevention and treatment of Alzheimer＇s disease.

Pancreatic pseudocysts （PPs） are collections of pancreatic secretions that are lined by fibrous tissues and may contain necrotic debris or blood. The interventions including percutaneous, endoscopic or surgical approaches are based on the size, location, symptoms and complications of a pseudocyst. With the availability of advanced imaging systems and cameras, better hemostatic equipments and excellent laparoscopic techniques, most pseudocysts can be found and managed by laparoscopy. We describe a case of a 30-year-old male patient with a pancreatic pseudocyst amenable to laparoscopic cystogastrostomy. An incision was made through the anterior gastric wall to expose the posterior gastric wall in close contact with the pseudocyst using an ultrasonically activated scalpel. Then, another incision was made for cystogastrostomy to obtain complete and unobstructed drainage. The patient recovered well after operation and was symptom-free during a 6-mo follow-up, suggesting that laparoscopic cystogastrostomy is a safe and effective alternative to open cystogastrostomy for minimally invasive management of PPs.

This paper described a rare case of adenomyoma of common bile duct. The case is a 51-year-old man who was hospitalized for yellow color skin and sclera and itching for 2 mo without abdominal pain. Nothing special was found in physical examination except yellowish skin and sclera. The clinical presentation and Computerized Tomography (CT),Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP),and ultrasonography suspected a tumor of the distal bile duct. The patient was treated successfully by pancreaticoduodenectomy. Histologically,the lesion consisted of adenoid and myofibrous tissue and moderate atypia. The immunophenotype of the epithelial component was cytokeratin 7+/cytokeratin 20-. The patient has been well without any evidence of recurrence for 12 mo since his operation.

Uniform arrays of gold nanoparticles with different surface roughness for surface enhanced Raman scattering

Uniform arrays of coarse and smooth gold nanoparticles with diameter about 130 nm were successfully synthesized through seed-mediated growth method, separately. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy （SEM and TEM） and X-ray diffraction （XRD） have been used to study the formation and structure of the nanocomposites. The high enhancement factor for surface-enhanced Raman scattering of coarse and smooth gold nanoparticles were estimated to be about 3.1 × 10^6 and 2.0 × 10^6, respectively. It is evident that the coarse gold nanostructures has higher influence factor than the smooth gold nanostructures. Therefore, these unique properties of the coarse Au nanoparticles appear to be very Dromising for applications as high-performance SERS subsrrares.
