Green onion is one of the most consumed vegetables in Colombia. However, its production is negatively affected by the nematode Ditylenchus. To determine the species of the nematode, as well as to propose management strategies for its control, in the present study the morphological, morphometric, and molecular characterization of the phytonematode was carried out and was used to evaluate the effect of immersion of the propagation material in water hot, application of a commercial strain of Purpureocillium lilacinum and the application of an agrochemical with insecticidal-nematicidal action to control the phytosanitary problem under field conditions. The morphological and morphometric characteristics of the nematode were similar to those reported for the type and reference populations of D. dipsaci. Based on sequences of the D2-D3 segment and Internal Transcribed Spacer-ITS of the rRNA, the presence of D. dipsaci in green onion crops in Colombia was confirmed. The application of P. lilacinum statistically showed an efficient control of D. dipsaci, at the same time that presented the highest yield, in relation to the other evaluated treatments (P ≤ 0.05).

The Scab of purple passion fruit or gulupa (Passiflora edulis Sims.) is a serious disease, affecting all aerial organs of the plant, but also to reducing the visual quality of the fruits, which reduces export production. To determine the primary causal agent of disease in Colombia, associated microorganisms were isolated from scab lesions on stems, leaves, flowers and fruits, recovering in PDA. Obtaining Cladosporium, Colletotrichum and Botrytis. Cladosporium had the highest frequency of fungal isolates. 15 strains were evaluated for their pathogenicity on fruits and leaves of gulupa in laboratory and greenhouse conditions. 9 strains caused symptom expression at 95% humidity and 17°C - 20°C, validating Cladosporium as causal agent of gulupa scab. For those pathogenic strains, were determinate incubation and latency periodsin leaves (7 - 11 and 8 - 12 DPI) and fruits (6 - 10 and 8 - 12 DPI) revealing differences or virulence levels in the pathogen populations.

Recovery of carbon monoxide from flue gases by selective absorption of carbon monoxide in an imidazolium chlorocuprate（l） ionic liquid is considered in this work as an alternative to the use of molecular volatile solvents such as aromatic hydrocarbons. The present work evaluates the CO mass transfer rates from the gas phase to the ionic liquid solutions in the absence of chemical reaction. To that end, carbon dioxide was employed as an inert model gas and absorption experiments were performed to assess the influence of different process variables in a batch reactor with fiat gas-liquid interface. The experimental mass transfer coefficients showed significant var- iation with temperature, （3.4-10.9） × 10^-7 m·s^-1 between 293 and 313 K; stirring speed, （10.2- 33.1）× 10^-7 m.s 1 between 100 and 300 r·min^-1; and concentration of copper（1）, （6.6-10.2） × 10^-7 m·s^-1 between 0.25 and 2 mol· L^- 1. In addition, the mass transfer coefficients were eventually found to follow a poten- tial proportionality of the type kL ∝μ^-0.5 and the dimensionless correlation that makes the estimation of the mass transfer coefficients possible in the studied range of process variables was obtained： Sh=10^-2.64 Re^1.07 , Sc^0.75,These results constitute the first step in the kinetic analysis of the reaction between CO and imidazolium chlorocuprate（I） ionic liquid that determines the design of the separation units.

A space-filling curve in 2,3,or higher dimensions can be thought as a path of a continuously moving *** its main goal is to preserve spatial proximity,this type of curves has been widely used in the design and implementation of spatial data structures and nearest neighbor-finding *** paper is essentially focused on the efficient representation of Digital Ele-vation Models(DEM) that entirely fit into the main *** propose a new hierarchical quadtree-like data structure to be built over domains of unrestricted size,and a representation of a quadtree and a binary triangles tree by means of the Hilbert and the Sierpinski space-filling curves,respectively,taking into account the hierarchical nature and the clustering properties of this kind of *** triangulation schemes are described for the space-filling-curves-based approaches to efficiently visualize multiresolu-tion surfaces.

Waste frying oil （WFO） is a very important feedstock for obtaining biodiesel at low cost and using WFO in transesterification reactions to produce biodiesel helps eliminate local environmental problems. In this study biodiesel was produced from WFO in sub- and super- critical methanol on a zeolite Y solid acid catalyst. The procedure was optimized using a design of experiments by varying the methanol to WFO molar ratio, the reaction temperature, and the amount of catalyst. Typical biodiesel yields varied from 83 to nearly 100% with methyl esters content ranging from 1.41-1.66mol.L-~ and typical dynamic viscosities of 22.1-8.2 cE Gas chromatography was used to determine the molecular composition of the biodiesel. The reaction products contained over 82 wt-% methyl esters, 4.2 wt-% free acids, 13.5 wt-% monoglycer- ides, and 0.3 wt-% diglycerides. The transesterification of WFO with methanol around its critical temperature combined with a zeolite Y as an acid catalyst is an efficient approach for the production of biodiesel with acceptable yields.

For national or global resource estimation of frequencies of metals,a lognormal distribution has commonly been recommended but not adequately *** of frequencies of Cu,Zn,Pb,Ag,and Au contents of 1 984 well-explored mineral deposits display a poor fit to the lognormal *** the same metals plus Mo,Co,Nb2O3,and REE2O3 are grouped into 19 geologically defined deposit types,only eight of the 73 tests fail to be fit by lognormal distribution,and most of those failures are in two deposit types suggesting a problem with those *** of the mean and standard deviation of each of the metals in each of the deposit types are provided for modeling.
