The continuously growing importance of batteries for powering(hybrid)electric vehicles and storing renewable energy has prompted a renewed focus on lithium-metal batteries(LMBs)in recent years,as its high theoretical specific capacity of about 3860 mA h g^(-1) and very low redox potential(-3.04 V *** standard hydrogen electrode)promise substantially higher energy densities compared to current lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)[1].However,lithium metal electrodes face severe challenges associated with the risk of dendritic lithium deposition and the high reactivity with traditional organic liquid electrolytes,resulting in a continuous loss of electrochemically active lithium and a relatively low Coulombic efficiency[2].To address these challenges,solid inorganic and polymer electrolytes have emerged as a potentially saferalternative.

Background Since 2010,most tertiary care hospitals in Australia have changed how they care for extremely premature ***,in-hospital and longer-term outcome data have suggested unchanged or even worse health outcomes in later epochs,especially respiratory *** study examined the trend in outcomes since these changes were introduced,particularly the prevalence of chronic neonatal lung disease(CLD).Methods This is a retrospective cross-sectional analysis of data from the Neonatal Intensive Care Units'(NICUS)database of all perinatal intensive care units in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory,including infants born at≥24 and≤28 weeks of gestational age in tertiary perinatal units between January 1,2010,and December 31,*** trends and changes in primary outcome were examined by linear and adjusted multivariable logistic regression *** This study included 3258 *** saw significant changes in antenatal magnesium sulfate(75% increase),delayed cord clamping(66% increase),delivery room intubations(30% decrease),any time(20% decrease),duration on mechanical ventilation(100-hour decrease),and hours on noninvasive ventilation(200-hour increase).Mortality decreased from 17% to 6%.The incidence of CLD increased significantly even when adjusted for confounders(15% increase).Any time and mean hours spent on mechanical ventilation significantly increased the odds of *** study could not find a significant association of any of the protective antenatal treatments on *** The last decade saw a significant improvement in survival and survival to discharge without major *** was increased use of magnesium sulfate,delayed cord clamping,and less invasive respiratory management of extremely preterm *** avoidance of mechanical ventilation may impact the incidence of CLD.

The main focus of this work is to study the effect of the ionic radius of different rare earth dopant cations RE^(3+)(RE=La,Sm,Dy,and Ho) on structural and various physical properties of sodium bismuth titanate(Na_(0.5)B_(0.5)TiO_(3),NBT) based perovskite *** X-ray diffraction data indicate the successful formation of the rhombohedral phase(space group R3c) of NBT nano perovskite incorporated with various rare earth ions in *** lattice parameters were found to increase linearly with the ionic radius of the dopant *** ionic radii and atomic mass of rare earth dopants appear to be essential factors in the grain growth of the prepared *** grain growth results in better crystallinity of the sample by reducing the microstrain with the increase of dopant ionic *** emission scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectra confirm the prepared compositions' phase purity and *** UV-Vis spectra reveal that La-doped NBT composition exhibits the lowest optical band gap,which unfolds the application of NBT-based perovskite as photoactive *** ac conductivity and complex impedance spectra unveil that the composition with the largest ionic radius,i.e.,La-doped NBT compound,exhibits the highest dc and bulk conductivity with the lowest activation *** frequency-dependent dielectric data follows Havriliak-Negami(HN) formalism and non-Debye type relaxation *** also indicate that La-doped NBT composition exhibits the highest dielectric strength ***,this study first elaborates that the increasing ionic radius of the rare earth dopant cation in the Bi-site of NBT perovskite improves its microstructural,optical,and electrical properties.

Data temperature is a response to the ever-growing amount of *** data have to be stored,but they have been observed that only a small portion of the data are accessed more frequently at any one *** leads to the concept of hot and cold *** data can be migrated away from high-performance nodes to free up performance for higher priority *** studies classify hot and cold data primarily on the basis of data age and usage *** present this as a limitation in the current implementation of data *** is due to the fact that age automatically assumes that all new data have priority and that usage is purely *** propose new variables and conditions that influence smarter decision-making on what are hot or cold data and allow greater user control over data location and their *** identify new metadata variables and user-defined variables to extend the current data temperature *** further establish rules and conditions for limiting unnecessary movement of the data,which helps to prevent wasted input output(I/O)*** also propose a hybrid algorithm that combines existing variables and new variables and conditions into a single data *** proposed system provides higher accuracy,increases performance,and gives greater user control for optimal positioning of data within multi-tiered storage solutions.

Adeno-associated virus(AAV)has emerged as a pivotal delivery tool in clinical gene therapy owing to its minimal pathogenicity and ability to establish long-term gene expression in different *** AAV(rAAV)has been engineered for enhanced specificity and developed as a tool for treating various ***,as rAAV is being more widely used as a therapy,the increased demand has created challenges for the existing manufacturing *** rAAV-based gene therapy products have received regulatory approval,but there continue to be concerns about safely using high-dose viral therapies in humans,including immune responses and adverse effects such as genotoxicity,hepatotoxicity,thrombotic microangiopathy,and *** this review,we explore AAV biology with an emphasis on current vector engineering strategies and manufacturing *** discuss how rAAVs are being employed in ongoing clinical trials for ocular,neurological,metabolic,hematological,neuromuscular,and cardiovascular diseases as well as *** outline immune responses triggered by rAAV,address associated side effects,and discuss strategies to mitigate these *** hope that discussing recent advancements and current challenges in the field will be a helpful guide for researchers and clinicians navigating the ever-evolving landscape of rAAV-based gene therapy.

The role of microstructural features on in-vitro degradation and surface film development of a thermomechanically processed Mg-4Zn-0.5Ca-0.8Mn alloy has been investigated employing electrochemical studies,scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron *** specimen forged at 523 K temperature developed a coarse unimodal microstructure consisting of basal oriented grains,whereas the specimens forged at 623 K and 723 K temperatures exhibited bimodal microstructures containing randomly oriented fine grains and basal oriented coarse *** bimodal microstructures exerted higher resistance to corrosion compared to the unimodal microstructure in presence of a protective surface *** optimum size distribution of fine and coarse grains as well as the prevalence of basal oriented grains led to the lowest anodic current density in the specimen forged at 623 *** morphology of Ca_(2)Mg_(6)Zn_(3)precipitates governed the cathodic kinetics by controlling the anode to cathode surface area *** the specimen forged at 723 K comprised comparatively lower fraction of precipitates than at 623 K,the mesh-like precipitate morphology increased the effective cathodic surface area,leading to enhanced localised corrosion in the former *** microstructural features developed at 623 K forging temperature formed a well-protective surface film with lower Mg(OH)_(2)to MgO ratio,exhibiting distinctly high polarization resistance and superior cytocompatibility in terms of cell-proliferation and cell-differentiation.

The demand for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)is driven largely by their use in electric vehicles,which is projected to increase dramatically in the *** great success,however,urgently calls for the efficient recycling of LIBs at the end of their ***,we describe a froth flotation-based process to recycle graphite—the predominant active material for the negative electrode—from spent LIBs and investigate its reuse in newly assembled *** has been found that the structure and morphology of the recycled graphite are essentially unchanged compared to pristine commercial anode-grade graphite,and despite some minor impurities from the recycling process,the recycled graphite provides a remarkable reversible specific capacity of more than 350 mAh g^(−1).Even more importantly,newly assembled graphite‖NMC532 cells show excellent cycling stability with a capacity retention of 80%after 1000 cycles,that is,comparable to the performance of reference full cells comprising pristine commercial graphite.

Comparison of Air Pollution−Mortality Associations Using Observed Particulate Matter Concentrations and Reanalysis Data in 33 Spanish Cities

Air pollution poses a health hazard in all ***,complete data on ambient particulate matter(PM)concentrations are not available in all world *** data is already a valuable source of exposure data in epidemiological studies examining the relationship between temperature and ***,the performance of reanalysis data in assessing the short-term health effects of particulate air pollution remains *** assessed the performance of CAMS reanalysis(EAC4)data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts,compared with daily PM concentrations from field monitoring stations,to estimate short-term exposure to PM with an aerodynamic diameter less than 10μm(PM_(10))on daily mortality in 33 Spanish provincial capital cities using a two-stage time series regression *** shape of the PM_(10)distribution varied substantially between PM observations and CAMS global reanalysis of atmospheric composition(EAC4)reanalysis data,with correlation ranging from 0.21 to *** pooled mortality risk for a 10μg/m^(3)increase in PM_(10)showed similar estimates using PM concentrations{relative risks(RR)=1.007,95%confidence intervals(95%CI)=[1.002,1.011]}and EAC4 reanalysis data(RR=1.011,95%CI=[1.006,1.015]).However,the city-specific PM_(10)beta coefficients estimated using PM concentrations and EAC4 reanalysis data showed a low correlation(r=0.22).The use of reanalysis data should be approached with caution when assessing the association between particulate matter air pollution and health outcomes,particularly in cities with small populations.

Two well-preserved petrified palm stems from the latest Maastrichtian(Late Cretaceous) to earliest Danian(Early Paleocene) sediments of the Deccan Intertrappean Beds of Madhya Pradesh, Central India are described. Their significant anatomical characteristics include a Calamus-type general stem pattern,the presence of well-preserved fibrovascular bundles(fvbs) with two wide metaxylem vessel elements(230 μm-250 μm) and one phloem strand, uniform density of fvbs, lack of continuity between protoxylem and metaxylem vessel elements, and an absence of centrifugal differentiation of sclerenchymatous fibrous *** features reveal a close resemblance to those of extant genera of scandent Calamoideae. The permineralized stems are described as a new species namely, Palmoxylon calamoides Kumar, roy et Khan sp. *** fossils represent the oldest reliable fossil records of this family, supporting their Gondwanan origin, their importance in tracing their migration pathways from India to Europe and other continents after the docking of the Indian subcontinent with Eurasia during the Paleocene, and an “Out-of-India” dispersal hypothesis. Today the subfamily Calamoideae is disjunctly occurred in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America, but the poor deep-time fossil record of this subfamily with a small number of Cenozoic fossils makes hypotheses concerning its origin and dispersal difficult to evaluate. The present study has significant implications for the origin and migration of this subfamily and the paleoclimate.
