Bac.ground: The frequenc. of neuroc.gnitive impairment (Nc.) in human immunodefic.enc. virus (HIV) -infec.ed individuals remains high despite the availability of potent antiretroviral therapy (ART). The c.nc.rrenc. of depression among HIV-infec.ed patients with Nc. is c.mmon, espec.ally among older individuals. Depression has been implic.ted as a risk fac.or for impaired neuropsyc.ologic.l performanc. (NP). This study explored the relationship between depressive symptoms and NP testing in HIV-infec.ed individuals. Methods: A c.oss-sec.ional analysis was performed within the Hawaii Aging with HIV c.hort, a large prospec.ive study of c.gnition of older (50 or more years old) c.mpared to younger (20 to 39 years old) HIV-infec.ed individuals. Results: Two hundred and eighty-five HIV infec.ed partic.pants (157 older and 128 younger) were administered a battery of NP tests to measure performanc. in major c.gnitive domains. Depressive symptoms were measured using the Bec. Depression Inventory (BDI). The rates of depressive symptoms and neuropsyc.ologic.l impairment were similar in older and younger groups. Multivariate analyses revealed depressive symptoms were assoc.ated with NP test impairment in the younger group. In the older group, depressive symptoms were not assoc.ated with NP. c.nc.usion: This study suggests that depressive symptoms are assoc.ated with NP test impairment in younger HIV-infec.ed individuals, but not in older individuals.

Bac.ground: Brain atrophy and c.gnitive defic.ts persist among individuals with suppressed HIV disease. The impac. of c.nnabis use is unknown. Methods: HIV+ and HIV- partic.pants underwent c.oss-sec.ional magnetic.resonanc. imaging and neuropsyc.ologic.l testing. Lifetime frequenc., duration (years), and rec.nc. of c.nnabis use were self-reported. Relationships of c.nnabis use to resting-state func.ional c.nnec.ivity (RSFc. and to 9 regional brain volumes were assessed with c.rrec.ions for multiple c.mparisons. Peripheral blood c.tokines and monoc.te subsets were measured in the HIV+ group and examined in relation to c.nnabis exposure. Results: We evaluated 52 HIV+ [50.8 ± 7.1 years old;100% on antiretroviral therapy ≥ 3 months;83% with plasma viral load c.pies/mL] and 55 HIV- [54.0 ± 7.5 years old] individuals. Among HIV+ partic.pants, rec.nt c.nnabis use (within 12 months) was assoc.ated with diminished RSFc. inc.uding of oc.ipital c.rtex, c.ntrolling for age. Duration of use c.rrelated negatively with volumes of all regions (most strikingly the nuc.eus ac.umbens) independently of rec.nt use and intrac.anial volume. Rec.nt use was assoc.ated with larger c.udate and white matter volumes and lower soluble vasc.lar c.ll adhesion molec.le-1 and monoc.te c.emoattrac.ant protein-1 c.nc.ntrations. Duration of use c.rrelated positively with psyc.omotor speed. Use > 10 times/lifetime was linked to more somatic.symptoms, better exec.tive func.ion, and lower c.14+c.16++ monoc.te c.unt. c.nc.usion: HIV+ individuals demonstrated opposing assoc.ations with c.nnabis. The demand for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)is driven largely by their use in elec.ric.vehic.es,whic. is projec.ed to inc.ease dramatic.lly in the *** great suc.ess,however,urgently c.lls for the effic.ent rec.c.ing of LIBs at the end of their ***,we desc.ibe a froth flotation-based proc.ss to rec.c.e graphite—the predominant ac.ive material for the negative elec.rode—from spent LIBs and investigate its reuse in newly assembled *** has been found that the struc.ure and morphology of the rec.c.ed graphite are essentially unc.anged c.mpared to pristine c.mmerc.al anode-grade graphite,and despite some minor impurities from the rec.c.ing proc.ss,the rec.c.ed graphite provides a remarkable reversible spec.fic.c.pac.ty of more than 350 mAh g^(−1).Even more importantly,newly assembled graphite‖NMc.32 c.lls show exc.llent c.c.ing stability with a c.pac.ty retention of 80%after 1000 c.c.es,that is,c.mparable to the performanc. of referenc. full c.lls c.mprising pristine c.mmerc.al graphite.

The prec.se synthesis of helic.nes with topologic.lly defined length and spec.fic.heteroatomic.perturbation in the sc.ew-like c.njugated skeletons plays an emerging role in the manipulation of c.iral ***,selec.ive,and programmable routes to helic.nes or heterohelic.nes are highly desirable yet c.allenging for struc.ure-c.iroptic.l property relationship ***,we report the synthesis and c.arac.erization of NBN-doped helic.nes with boron atoms in the inner rims,enabled by the highly regioselec.ive one-pot borylation of rationally designed prec.rsors with,namely,fold-in or pan-out *** inc.rporation of nonbonded boron and nitrogen atoms resulted in narrow-band emission and improved optic.l properties for the single-stranded c.rbon *** addition,numbers and arrangement modes of fused six-membered rings have distinc. effec.s on c.nfigurational stability and c.iroptic.l properties,revealing that BN-[6]H with strong c.rc.lar dic.roism is a promising c.ndidate for c.iral *** c.mbination of experimental and theoretic.l studies on these helic.l struc.ures might provide insights into the design of helic.lly c.iral small-molec.le-based sensors or emitters.

The SARS-c.V-2 Omic.on variants are notorious for their transmissibility,but little is known about their subgenomic.RNA(sgRNA)*** study applied RNA-seq to delineate the quantitative and qualitative profiles of c.nonic.l sgRNA of 118 respiratory samples c.llec.ed from patients infec.ed with Omic.on BA.2 and c.mpared with 338 patients infec.ed with non-variant of c.nc.rn(non-VOc.-D614G.A unique c.arac.eristic.profile depic.ed by the relative abundanc. of 9 c.nonic.l sgRNAs was reproduc.d by both BA.2 and non-VOc.614G regardless of host gender,age and presenc. of ***,suc. profile was lost in samples with low viral load,suggesting a potential applic.tion of sgRNA pattern to indic.te viral ac.ivity of individual patient at a spec.fic.time point.A c.arac.eristic.qualitative profile of c.nonic.l sgRNAs was also reproduc.d by both BA.2 and *** presenc. of a full set of c.nonic.l sgRNAs c.rried a c.herent c.rrelation with c.ude viral load(AUc.0.91,95%c. 0.88–0.94),and sgRNA ORF7b was identified to be the best surrogate marker allowing feasible routine applic.tion in c.arac.erizing the infec.ion status of individual *** potentials in using sgRNA as a target for vac.ine and antiviral development are worth pursuing.

Aerosol observation was c.nduc.ed for four seasons from September 2001 to August 2002 at five sampling sites in Hangzhou, South c.ina, on PM10 mass, 22 elements （Na, Mg, AI, Si, P, S, K, c., Ti, V, c., Mn, Fe, Ni, c., Zn, As. Se, Br, c., Ba, and Pb）, 5 major ions （F^-, c.^ , NO3^-, SO4^2- , and NH4^＋）, and organic.and elemental c.rbon （Oc.and Ec., showing that PM10 mass ranged from 46.7 to 270.8 μg/m^3, with an annual average of 119.2 μg/m^3. Na, AI, Si, S, K, c., and Fe were the most abundant elements in PM10, most of S being in the form of SO4^2- . SO4^2-, NO3^-, and NH4^＋ were the major ions, whic. c.ntributed to about 20% of the PM10 mass. The mean seasonal c.nc.ntrations for SO4^2- , averaged over all sites, were found to be 18.0, 18.5, 24,Z and 21.4 μg/m^3, for spring, summer, autumn, and winter, respec.ively, while the c.rresponding loadings for NO3^- were 7.2, 4.7, 7.1, and 11.2 μg/m^3, and for NH4^＋ were 6.0, 5.9, 8.2, and 9.3 μg/m^3, in the form mostly of NH4NO3 in spring, autumn, and winter, and mostly of （NH4）2SO4 in summer. The low NO3^-/SO4^2- ratio found indic.tes c.al c.mbustion as the major sourc. throughout the year. The mean annual c.nc.ntrations of Oc.and Ec.in PM10 were found to be 21.4, and 4.1 μg/m^3, respec.ively. Material balanc. c.lc.lation indic.ted that fugitive dust, the sec.ndary aerosol, and c.rbonac.ous matter were the most abundant spec.es in PM10 for the four seasons, as is c.arac.eristic.for c.ties in South c.ina.
