Skin wounds can lead to numerous complications with dangerous health *** this work,magnetite nanoparticles were doped with different concentrations of antimicrobial silver(Ag)ions and incorporated into the electrospun nanofibrous ε-polycaprolactone(PCL)*** and scaffolds with various Ag contents were characterized using a range of physicochemical *** entered magnetite as cations and preferentially positioned at tetrahedral sites,introducing lattice distortions and topographic *** of the structure due to accommodation of Ag expanded the lattice in the bulk and contracted it on the surface,where broadened distribution of Fe-O coordinations was *** spin canting and diminishing the double exchange interaction through altered distribution of ferric and ferrous ions,Ag softened the magnetism of *** making the nanoparticle structure more defective,Ag modified the interface with the polymer and promoted the protrusion of the nanoparticles from the surface of the polymeric nanofibers,thus increasing their roughness and hydrophilicity,with positive repercussions on cell adhesion and *** the viability of human melanocytes and the antibacterial activity against *** and *** increased with the concentration of Ag in the magnetite phase of the *** wound healing rate in rats also increased in direct proportion with the concentration of Ag in the magnetite phase,and no abnormalities in the dermal and epidermal tissues were visible on day 10 in the treatment *** results imply an excellent potential of these composite nanofibrous scaffolds for use as wound dressings and in other reconstructive skin therapies.

Preparation of PVC/PVP composite polymer membranes via phase inversion process for water treatment purposes

In this work, new composite membranes were successfully prepared via phase inversion technique using polyvinyl chloride(PVC) and polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) as polymers and tetrahydrofuran(ThF) and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP) as solvents. The prepared membranes have been characterized by scanning electron microscope(SEM), and fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy(FTIR). The scanning electron microscope results prove that the prepared membranes are smooth and their pores are distributed throughout the whole surface and bulk body of the membrane without any visible cracks. The stress–strain mechanical test showed an excellent mechanical behavior enhanced by the presence of PVP in the prepared membranes. The membranes performance results showed that the salt rejection reached 98% with a high flux. This, in turn, makes the prepared membranes can be applied for sea and brackish water treatment through membrane distillation technology.

Cardiac changes in infants of diabetic mothers

Diabetes mellitus(DM)is a systemic chronic metabolic disorder characterized by increased insulin resistance and/orβ-cell *** affects all ages from the foetal life,neonates,childhood to late *** diabetes is a critical risk factor for congenital heart diseases(ChDs).Moreover,the risk increases with low maternal education,high body mass index at conception,undiagnosed pregestational diabetes,inadequate antenatal care,improper diabetes control,and maternal smoking during *** DM significantly affects the foetal heart and foetal-placental circulation in both structure and *** defects,myocardial hypertrophy are three times more prevalent in infants of diabetic mothers(IDMs).Antenatal evaluation of the cardiac function and structures can be performed with foetal electrocardiography and *** cardiac evaluation can be performed with natal and postnatal electrocardiography and echocardiography,detection of early atherosclerotic changes by measuring aortic intima-media thickness,and retinal vascular changes by retinal *** the effects of diabetes during pregnancy on the offspring depends mainly on pregestational and gestational diabetes ***,other measures to reduce the risk,such as using medications,nutritional supplements,or probiotics,still need more *** review discusses the mechanism of foetal sequels and the risk factors that increase the prevalence of ChDs in gestational DM,the various cardiac outcomes of gestational DM on the foetus and offspring,cardiac evaluation of foetuses and IDMs,and how to alleviate the consequences of gestational DM on the offspring.

Detection of Salmonella typhimurium in retail chicken meat and chicken giblets

Objective:To detect Salmonella typhimurium(***),one of the most frequently isolated serovars from food borne outbreaks throughout the world,in retail raw chicken meat and ***:One hundred samples of retail raw chicken meat and giblets(Liver,heart and gizzard)which were collected from Assiut city markets for detection of the organism and by using Duplex PCR amplification of DNA using rfbj andfliC ***:*** was detected at rate of 44%,40%and 48%in chicken meat,liver and heart,respectively,but not detected in ***:The results showed high incidence of *** in the examined samples and greater emphasis should be applied on prevention and control of contamination during processing for reducing food-borne risks to consumers.

The design of an antenna requires a careful selection of its parameters to retain the desired ***,this task is time-consuming when the traditional approaches are employed,which represents a significant *** the other hand,machine learning presents an effective solution to this challenge through a set of regression models that can robustly assist antenna designers to find out the best set of design parameters to achieve the intended *** this paper,we propose a novel approach for accurately predicting the bandwidth of metamaterial *** proposed approach is based on employing the recently emerged guided whale optimization algorithm using adaptive particle swarm optimization to optimize the parameters of the long-short-term memory(LSTM)deep *** optimized network is used to retrieve the metamaterial bandwidth given a set of *** addition,the superiority of the proposed approach is examined in terms of a comparison with the traditional multilayer perceptron(ML),Knearest neighbors(K-NN),and the basic LSTM in terms of several evaluation criteria such as root mean square error(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and mean bias error(MBE).Experimental results show that the proposed approach could achieve RMSE of(0.003018),MAE of(0.001871),and MBE of(0.000205).These values are better than those of the other competing models.

The optimum conditions for methanol conversion to dimethyl ether over modified sulfated zirconia catalysts prepared by different methods

Sulfated zirconia(SZ)and two promoted 1% Mn/SZ catalysts which have been prepared via sol gel(Mn/SZ-S)and impregnation(Mn/SZ-I)methods were *** morphology of the catalysts was characterized by XRD,BET,Nh3-TPD,ICP,SEM and FT-IR *** conversion of methanol to dimethyl ether and hydrocarbons was carried out in the temperature range of 120−300℃.The Mn/SZ-S showed the highest activity due to the high surface area with suitable *** optimum condition of Mn/SZ-S catalyst was investigated at 200℃ and LhSV of 0.02 h^−1 in a time range from 30 to 210 *** was found that the total conversion decreased from 80.18% to 53.26% at 210 *** reusability of this catalyst was studied at the optimum condition up till four cycles for 1 *** characterization of the reused catalyst showed a significant change in the structure and surface acidity due to the blockage of the surface acid sited by carbonaceous materials.

Metamaterial Antennas are a type of antenna that uses metamaterial to enhance *** bandwidth restriction associated with small antennas can be solved using metamaterial *** learning is gaining popularity as a way to improve solutions in a range of *** learning approaches are currently a big part of current research,and they’re likely to be huge in the *** model utilized determines the accuracy of the prediction in large *** goal of this paper is to develop an optimized ensemble model for forecasting the metamaterial antenna’s bandwidth and *** basic models employed in the developed ensemble are Support Vector Regression(SVR),K-NearestRegression(KNR),Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP),Decision Trees(DT),and Random Forest(RF).The percentages of contribution of these models in the ensemble model are weighted and optimized using the dipper throated optimization(DTO)*** choose the best features from the dataset,the binary(bDTO)algorithm is *** proposed ensemble model is compared to the base models and results are recorded and analyzed *** addition,two other ensembles are incorporated in the conducted experiments for *** ensembles are average ensemble and K-nearest neighbors(KNN)-based *** comparison is performed in terms of eleven evaluation *** evaluation results confirmed the superiority of the proposed model when compared with the basic models and the other ensemble models.

In terms of security and privacy,mobile ad-hoc network(MANET)continues to be in demand for additional debate and *** more MANET applications become data-oriented,implementing a secure and reliable data transfer protocol becomes a major concern in the ***,MANET’s lack of infrastructure,unpredictable topology,and restricted resources,as well as the lack of a previously permitted trust relationship among connected nodes,contribute to the attack detection burden.A novel detection approach is presented in this paper to classify passive and active black-hole *** proposed approach is based on the dipper throated optimization(DTO)algorithm,which presents a plausible path out of multiple paths for statistics transmission to boost MANETs’quality of service.A group of selected packet features will then be weighed by the DTO-based multi-layer perceptron(DTO-MLP),and these features are collected from nodes using the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering hierarchical(LEACh)clustering *** is a powerful classifier and the DTO weight optimization method has a significant impact on improving the classification process by strengthening the weights of key features while suppressing the weights ofminor *** hybridmethod is primarily designed to combat active black-hole *** the LEACh clustering phase,however,can also detect passive black-hole *** effect of mobility variation on detection error and routing overhead is explored and evaluated using the suggested *** diverse mobility situations,the results demonstrate up to 97%detection accuracy and faster execution ***,the suggested approach uses an adjustable threshold value to make a correct conclusion regarding whether a node is malicious or benign.
