Effluent organic matter （EfOM） is the major cause of fouling in the low pressure membranes process for wastewater reuse. Coagulation and oxidation of biological wastewater treatment effluent have been applied for the fouling control of microfiltration membranes. However, the change in EfOM structure by pre-treatments has not been clearly identified. The changes of EfOM characteristics induced by coagulation and ozonation were investigated through size exclusion chromatography, UV/Vis spectrophotometry, fluorescence spectrophotometry and titrimetric analysis to identify the mechanisms in the reduction of ultrafiltration （UF） membrane fouling. The results indicated that reduction of flux decline by coagulation was due to modified characteristics of dissolved organic carbon （doC） content. Total concentration of doC was not reduced by ozonation. However, the mass fraction of the molecules with molecular weight larger than 5 kDa, fluorescence intensity, aromaticity, highly condensed chromophores, average molecular weight and soluble microbial byproducts decreased greatly after ozonation. These results indicated that EfOM was partially oxidized by ozonation to low molecular weight, highly charged compounds with abundant electron- withdrawing functional groups, which are favourable for alleviating UF membrane flux decline.

Objective：The aim of the present study was to investigate antioxidant and the anticancerigen activity of a methanol extract from Artemisia princeps *** （APME）,a well-known traditional herbal medicine in Asia,in hepatocellular cancer ***：To evaluate the antioxidant activity of APME,reactive oxygen species （ROS） and the antioxidant enzymes,superoxide dismutase （SOD） and catalase were investigated in HepG2 cells exposed to APME （5,100,and 200 μg/mL） for 72 ***,to evaluate the anticancer activity of APME,we investigated the proliferation and apoptosis induction of HepG2 and Hep3B cells exposed to APME （1-200 μg/mL） for 24,48,and 72 ***：APME dose-dependently reduced the generation of ROS in the presence of H2O2 compared with control ***,it increased catalase and SOD ***,APME inhibited cell proliferation in a dose-and time-dependcnt manner,but at concentrations lower than 100 μg/mL,the inhibition was less dose-dependent than ***2 and Hep3B cells exposed to 5,100,and 200 μg/mL APME for 72 h underwent cell cycle arrest and *** to APME resulted in a significant increase in the number of cells in G1 phase and a decrease in the G2/M phase cell *** addition,APME induced P53 expression of HepG2 cells in a dose-dependent manner,and played a role in the downregulation of Bcl-2 and upregulation of Bax in both HepG2 and Hep3B ***：These results indicate the potential role of APME as an antioxidant and anticancerigen agent in hepatocarcinoma cell lines.

This paper proposes a CLHS （Capacitor Less Half Sustain） driving method that is applied to a long gap panel to reduce the power consumption. In order to reduce the power consumption in moving images, the luminous efficiency should be improved at the low discharge load （〈25%）. The weight of reactive power consumption tends to increase as the low discharge load decreases. Thus, it is very important to improve the luminous efficiency at low discharge load. It is well known that a long gap panel improves the luminance and the luminous efficiency but it is very difficult to drive the panel due to high driving voltage. It is confirmed that the main factors which cause a long gap panel to increase the minimum driving voltages are not only a long discharge gap but also self-erasing discharge. Self-erasing discharge is generated between the address and sustain electrodes in a sustain period. The CLHS driving method can reduce the reactive power consumption in a sustain period because energy recovery capacitors were removed in the sustain circuit. The CLHS driving method can reduce the minimum driving voltage of the long gap panel because the self-erasing discharge was prevented. When the CLHS driving method was applied to the panel with an ITO gap of 100 μm, Vs and VA minimum voltages are reduced by about 9 V and 12 V compared with those of the normal driving method. The luminance and the luminous efficiency also increased by about 24.3% and 33.3% at the discharge load of 4% compared with those at the normal condition.

In research on small mobile robots and biomimetic robots, locomotion ability remains a major issue despite many advances in technology. However, evolution has led to there being many real animals capable of exceUent locomotion. This paper presents a ＂parasitic robot system＂ whereby locomotion abilities of an animal are applied to a robot task. We chose a turtle as our first host animal and designed a parasitic robot that can perform ＂operant conditioning＂. The parasitic robot, which is attached to the turtle, can induce object-tracking behavior of the turtle toward a Light Emitting Diode （LED） and positively reinforce the behavior through repeated stimulus-response interaction. After training sessions over five weeks, the robot could successfully control the direction of movement of the trained turtles in the waypoint navigation task. This hybrid animal-robot interaction system could provide an alternative solution to some of the limitations of conventional mobile robot systems in various fields, and could also act as a useful interaction system for the behavioral sciences.

Deep Drawing Process Using a Tractrix Die for Manufacturing Liners for a CNG High-Pressure Vessel(Type Ⅱ)

The liner of a CNG pressure vessel is manufactured by a DDI(deep drawing and ironing)process for the cylinder part,which is a continuous process that includes a drawing process to reduce the diameter of the billet and a subsequent ironing process to reduce the thickness of the billet.A tractrix die used in the 1^(st) deep drawing allows the blank to flow smoothly by decreasing the punch load and radial tensile stress occurring in the *** also increases the draw ratio compared to conventional dies,but it causes forming *** this study,a shape coefficient(S_(c))is proposed for the tractrix die using the blank diameter(D_(0)),inflow diameter of the workpiece(d_(i)),and inflow angle of the workpiece(θ)for design of the tractrix *** effects of the thickness and inflow angle of the workpiece on wrinkling and folding were investigated through ***,a discriminant is proposed for the relative radial stress(σ)generated during the deep drawing process using the tractirx die and used to predict *** on the results,the blank thickness,the draw ratio,and the inflow of the workpiece angle in the 1^(st) deep drawing process are suggested,and the number of operations in the DDI process was reduced from 6 to *** improves the productivity and reduces the manufacturing cost.

This study was conducted to enable prompt classification of malware,which was becoming increasingly *** do this,we analyzed the important features of malware and the relative importance of selected features according to a learning model to assess how those important features were ***,the analysis features were extracted using Cuckoo Sandbox,an open-source malware analysis tool,then the features were divided into five categories using the extracted *** 804 extracted features were reduced by 70%after selecting only the most suitable ones for malware classification using a learning model-based feature selection method called the recursive feature ***,these important features were *** level of contribution from each one was assessed by the Random Forest classifier *** results showed that System call features were mostly *** the end,it was possible to accurately identify the malware type using only 36 to 76 features for each of the four types of malware with the most analysis samples *** were the Trojan,Adware,downloader,and Backdoor malware.

Detection of unknown attacks like a zero-day attack is a research field that has long been ***,advances in Machine Learning(ML)and Artificial Intelligence(AI)have led to the emergence of many kinds of attack-generation tools developed using these technologies to evade detection *** detection and misuse detection are the most commonly used techniques for detecting intrusion by unknown *** anomaly detection is adequate for detecting unknown attacks,its disadvantage is the possibility of high false *** detection has low false alarms;its limitation is that it can detect only known *** overcome such limitations,many researchers have proposed a hybrid intrusion detection that integrates these two detection *** method can overcome the limitations of conventional methods and works better in detecting unknown ***,this method does not accurately classify attacks like similar to normal or known ***,we proposed a hybrid intrusion detection to detect unknown attacks similar to normal and known *** anomaly detection,the model was designed to perform normal detection using Fuzzy c-means(FCM)and identify attacks hidden in normal predicted data using *** misuse detection,the model was designed to detect previously known attacks using Classification and Regression Trees(CART)and apply Isolation Forest(iForest)to classify unknown attacks hidden in known *** an experiment result,the application of relabeling improved attack detection accuracy in anomaly detection by approximately 11%and enhanced the performance of unknown attack detection in misuse detection by approximately 10%.

The lattice Boltzmann method(LBM)has been widely employed in various areas of practical engineering to solve non-linear problems,due to such advantages as the simplicity of programming and the numerical *** this paper,a new numerical method for onedimensional(1D)consolidation analysis of saturated clay is proposed on the basis of the lattice Boltzmann *** first,the lattice Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook(LBGK)model is used for 1D consolidation problem of saturated clay subjected to time-dependent loading under different types of initial and boundary *** addition,the multiscale Chapman-Enskog expansion is applied to recover mesoscopic lattice Boltzmann equation to macroscopic consolidation *** a result of the numerical simulation for verification,the numerical results are proved to be in good agreement with the analytical solutions available in previous *** the evaluation of convergence and accuracy,it is demonstrated that the proposed method is more accurate and reliable than the finite difference method(FDM)for 1D consolidation analysis of saturated clay.

Brain-Computer Interface （BCI） techniques have advanced to a level where it is now eliminating the need lor hand-based activation. This paper presents a novel attempt to remotely control an animal＇s behavior by human BCI using a hybrid of Event Related Desynchronization （ERD） and Steady-State Visually Evoked Potential （SSVEP） BCI protocols. The turtle was chosen as the target animal, and we developed a head-mounted display, wireless communication, and a specially designed stimulation device for the turtle. These devices could evoke the turtle＇s instinctive escape behavior to guide its moving path, and turtles were remotely controlled in both indoor and outdoor environments. The system architecture and design were presented. To demon- strate the feasibility of the system, experimental tests were performed under various conditions. Our system could act as a framework for future human-animal interaction systems.

The development of effective synthetic routes is important to manifest proper nature of specific ***-situ electrochemical functionalization possesses great advantages over conventional routes,especially facile way and leading to reaching elaborate sites of functional ***,we demonstrate the preparation of functionalized carbons by in-situ electrochemical reduction in an argon atmosphere for application in low-cost,environmentally benign,and high-performance oxygen-electrodes for non-aqueous Li-O2 batteries.A Li-O2 battery with functionalized carbon shows a high discharge capacity(100 times that of pristine carbon),high power and cycling *** outstanding performance is attributed to the high O2 affinity of the functionalized carbon surface that facilitates the formation of soluble and diffusible superoxide intermediates by the reduction of the remaining O2 competing with surface growth for Li2O2 formation.
