Stable operation of highly loaded pure Si-Fe anode under ambient pressure via carboxy silane-directed robust solid electrolyte interphase

Incorporation of higher content Si anode material beyond 5 wt% to Li-ion batteries(LIBs)is challenging,owing to large volume change,swelling,and solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)instability ***,a strategy of diacetoxydimethylsilane(DAMS)additive-directed SEI stabilization is proposed for a stable operation of Si-0.33FeSi_(2)(named as Si-Fe)anode without graphite,which provides siloxane inorganics and organics enrichment that compensate insufficient passivation of fluoroethylene carbonate(FEC)additive and reduce a dependence on *** stable cycling performance of highly loaded(3.5 mA h cm^(-2))pure Si-Fe anode is achieved with 2 wt%DAMS combined with 9 wt%FEC additives under ambient pressure,yielding high capacity 1270 mA h g^(-1)at 0.5 C and significantly improved capacity retention of 81% after 100 cycles,whereas short circuit and rapid capacity fade occur with FEC only ***-directed robust SEI layer dramatically suppresses swelling and particles crossover through separator,and therefore prevents short circuit,demonstrating a possible operation of pure Si or Sidominant anodes in the next-generation high-energy-density and safe LIBs.

Spatial control of lithium deposition is the most important issue in lithium-metal batteries because of the considerable control of lithium dendrite suppression via the uniform distribution of Li^(+)*** seed materials are crucial for the behavior of lithium deposition,in-depth studies on their physical and chemical control have not been ***,we describe a new design of seed structure comprising a wrinkled Cu/graphene substrate surrounded by copper(Ⅰ)oxide(Cu_(2)O)on a graphene grain boundary over a large area,which is fabricated by the oxidation of the Cu surface via graphene boundary defects by using chemical vapor deposition(CVD).Scanning and transmission electron microscopy results reveal that Cu_(2)O on the graphene boundary can render a preferential reaction with lithium during the first deposition and assist in the uniform deposition of lithium by preventing the agglomeration of lithium clusters during the second *** two-step process is attributed to the degree of selectivity due to the difference in lithium affinity,which allows long-term electrochemical stability and a high rate capability via boundary *** study highlights the significance of the boundary effect,which can open new avenues for the formation of a large family of seed structures in lithium-metal batteries.

The development of effective synthetic routes is important to manifest proper nature of specific ***-situ electrochemical functionalization possesses great advantages over conventional routes,especially facile way and leading to reaching elaborate sites of functional ***,we demonstrate the preparation of functionalized carbons by in-situ electrochemical reduction in an argon atmosphere for application in low-cost,environmentally benign,and high-performance oxygen-electrodes for non-aqueous Li-O2 batteries.A Li-O2 battery with functionalized carbon shows a high discharge capacity(100 times that of pristine carbon),high power and cycling *** outstanding performance is attributed to the high O2 affinity of the functionalized carbon surface that facilitates the formation of soluble and diffusible superoxide intermediates by the reduction of the remaining O2 competing with surface growth for Li2O2 formation.

Here,we use two important biomaterials,protein and DNA,to construct self-assembled linear nanostructures through Watson-Crick base-paring of *** apply a simple magnetic separation method to purify traptavidin-DNA co njugates,and demonstrate synthesis of linear arrays of traptavidinDNA conjugates via the step-growth polymerization approach with pre-determined DNA *** the traptavidin-DNA array as a template,we assemble gold nanoparticles to form linear plasmonic nanostructures in a programmable *** traptavidin-DNA conjugates thus provide a convenient platform for one-dimensional assembly of biotinylated nanomaterials for many biomedical applications from drug delivery to bio-sensing.

AIM:To investigate the characteristics of slow elec-trical waves and the presence of transient receptor potential melastatin-type 7(TRPM7)in the human gas-trointestinal(GI)***:Conventional microelectrode techniques were used to record intracellular electrical responses from human GI smooth muscle ***-chemistry was used to identify TRPM7 channels in in-terstitial cells of Cajal(ICCs).RESULTS:The human GI tract generated slow electri-cal waves and had ICCs which functioned as pacemak-er *** acid,a nonselective cation channel blocker,and 2-APB(2-aminoethoxydiphenyl borate)and La3+,TRPM7 channel blockers,inhibited the ***,TRPM7 channels were expressed in ICCs in human ***:These results suggest that the human GI tract generates slow waves and that TRPM7 chan-nels expressed in the ICCs may be involved in the gen-eration of the slow waves.

Immunolocalization of Ephexin-1 in the Developing Canine Cerebellum

Ephexin-1 functions as guanine nucleotide exchange factors for the Rho-type GTPases which have important roles in neuronal development including axon guidance, migration, morphogenesis, and plasticity of neurons. As little is known about ephexin-1 in the cerebellum, we investigated the immunolocalization of ephexin-1 in the developing canine cerebellum. While the cellular maturation was followed by the temporal pattern, the calbindin D-28k and ephexin-1 immunoreactivities gradually increased in developing canine cerebellum. When compared to the calbindin D-28k immunoreactivities, belated ephexin-1 immunolocalization was observed in the Purkinje cells which aligned a single layer during cerebellar development. These results suggest that ephexin-1 might play an important role in the development of the Purkinje cells during the first two postnatal weeks based on its immunolocalization in the present study.

As a part of the synthetic multiscale modeling and simulation both in length and time scales, an implementation methodology of dynamic picture into spatially coarse-grained atomic system is presented. For tackling the length-scale limitation of atomistic simulations, employed in this work is the fully nonlocal three-dimensional version of the quasicontinuum method [1]. This coarse-grained atomic system are then implemented into the formulation of the action-derived molecular dynamics (ADMD) that has recently proposed to handle the multiple time-scale atomic systems such as rare-event and slow-mode systems [2-3]. This combination of ADMD and nonlocal quasicontinuum method provides the complete dynamic pathways, not simply minimized configurations, of the large-scale atomic models including energy barrier through a saddle point in phase space. The proposed scheme does not suffer from the unrealistic wave reflection caused by the presence of boundaries or interfaces, which is difficult to avoid in dynamic simulations of scale-bridging models. In this presentation, two typical examples of multiple time-scale problems are simulated. One is the adatom diffusion on (100) metal surface. The energy barrier and the realistic dynamic trajectory of diffusion mechanism are calculated for the coarse-grained quasicontinuum models. The other example is the molecular junction of long carbon nanotubes. For this, we also suggest a nonlocal coarse-graining scheme for large-scale carbon nanotubes. The various dynamic pictures of junction formations through bond-breaking and re-bonding of carbon atoms are examined with the activation energy barriers of the specific atomic recon figuration to take place. It is of note that all the dynamic pathways found are determined only by actual dynamic conditions such as the energy conservation, not by predetermined evolving scenarios of the atomic configurations.
