This paper proposes a new Deep Feed-forward Neural Network(DFNN)approach for damage detection in functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite(FG-CNTRC)*** the proposed approach,the DFNN model is developed based on a data set containing 20000 samples of damage scenarios,obtained via finite element(FE)simulation,of the FG-CNTRC *** elemental modal kinetic energy(MKE)values,calculated from natural freq.encies and translational nodal displacements of the structures,are utilized as input of the DFNN model while the damage locations and corresponding severities are considered as *** state-of-the art Exponential Linear Units(ELU)activation function and the Adamax algorithm are employed to train the DFNN ***,in order to enhance the performance of the DFNN model,the mini-batch and early-stopping techniq.es are applied to the training process.A trial-and-error procedure is implemented to determine suitable parameters of the network such as the number of hidden layers and the number of neurons in each *** accuracy and capability of the proposed DFNN model are illustrated through two distinct configurations of the CNT-fibers constituting the FG-CNTRC plates including uniform distribution(UD)and functionally graded-V distribution(FG-VD).Furthermore,the performance and stability of the DFNN model with the consideration of noise effects on the input data are also *** results indicate that the proposed DFNN model is able to give sufficiently accurate damage detection outcomes for the FG-CNTRC plates for both cases of noise-free and noise-influenced data.

Negacyclic codes of length 2^(s) over the Galois ring GR(2a,m)are linearly ordered under set-theoretic inclusion,i.e.,they are the ideals,0≤i≤2^(s)a,of the chain ring GR(2^(a),m)[x]/.This structure is used to obtain the symbol-pair distances of all such negacyclic *** others,for the special case when the alphabet is the finite field F2m(i.e.,a=1),the symbol-pair distance distribution of constacyclic codes over F2m verifies the Singleton bound for such symbol-pair codes,and provides all maximum distance separable symbol-pair constacyclic codes of length 2^(s) over F_(2m).

In this paper, our main objective is to find out the necessary and sufficient conditions for a cyclic code of arbitrary length over the ring of four elements R1 = F2 ＋ u2 （u^2 = 1） to be a reversible cyclic code. We also obtain the structure of cyclic DNA codes of odd length over the ring R = F2 [u, v]/（u^2 -1, v^3 -v, uv- vu）, which plays an important role in Computational Biology. Furthermore, we establish a direct link between the elements of ring /{ and 64 codons used in the amino acids of living organisms by introducing a Gray map from R to R1. Among others, binary images of cyclic codes over R are also investigated. As applications, some cyclic DNA codes over R using the Gray map are provided.

Fog computing is an emerging architecture intended for alleviating the network burdens at the cloud and the core network by moving resource-intensive functionalities such as computation, communication, storage, and analytics closer to the End Users (EUs). In order to address the issues of energy efficiency and latency req.irements for the time-critical Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications, fog computing systems could apply intelligence features in their operations to take advantage of the readily available data and computing resources. In this paper, we propose an approach that involves device-driven and human-driven intelligence as key enablers to reduce energy consumption and latency in fog computing via two case studies. The first one makes use of the machine learning to detect user behaviors and perform adaptive low-latency Medium Access Control (MAC)-layer scheduling among sensor devices. In the second case study on task offloading, we design an algorithm for an intelligent EU device to select its offloading decision in the presence of multiple fog nodes nearby, at the same time, minimize its own energy and latency objectives. Our results show a huge but untapped potential of intelligence in tackling the challenges of fog computing。

For any odd prime p such that p^m ≡ 3 (mod 4), consider all units Λ of the finite commutative chain ring Ra=Fpm[u]/〈u^a〉=Fp^m+uFp^m+…+u^a1Fp^m that have the form Λ=Λ0 + uΛ1 ++ u^a1 Λa1, where Λ0,Λ1,…,Λa1 p^m,Λ0 ≠ 0,Λ1 ≠ 0. The class of Λ-constacyclic codes of length 4p^s over a is investigated. If the unit Λ is a sq.are, each Λ-constacyclic code of length 4p^s is expressed as a direct sum of a λ-constacyclic code and a λ-constacyclic code of length 2p^s. In the main case that the unit Λ is not a sq.are, we prove that the polynomial x^4 λ0 can be decomposed as a product of two q.adratic irreducible and monic coprime factors, where λ^p^s0=Λ0. From this, the ambient ring Ra[x]/is proven to be a principal ideal ring, whose maximal ideals are and , where λ0 =4η^4. We also give the uniq.e self-dual Type 1 Λ-constacyclic codes of length 4p^s over a. Furthermore, conditions for a Type 1 Λ-constacyclic code to be self-orthogonal and dual-containing are provided.

Currently,the 65Mn steel is q.enched mainly by oil *** though the lower cooling rate of oil compared to water reduces the hardness of steel post q.enching,the deforming and cracking of parts are often *** the other hand,the oil media also has the disadvantage of being ammable,creating smoke that adversely affects the *** poly alkylene glycol(PAG)polymer q.enchant is commonly used for q.enching a variety of steels based on its advantages such as non-ammability and exible cooling rate subjected to varying concentration and stirring *** article examines the effect of PAG polymer q.enching solution(with concentrations of 10%and 20%)on deformation,hardness,and microstructure of C-ring samples made of 65Mn ***,the performance of PAG polymer q.enchant is also compared with those of two common q.enching solutions:Water and *** cooling in water,the C-ring samples had the largest deformation and 2 times higher than the results obtained when a 10%PAG solution was *** particular,similar levels of deformation on the C-ring samples were observed in both cases of 20%PAG solution and oil as the primary q.enching ***,the hardness level measured between the sampled parts q.enched in the 20%PAG solution appeared to be more uniform than that obtained from the oil-q.enched *** study of the microscopic structure of steel by optical microscopy combined with X-ray diffraction showed that the water hardened sample exhibited cracks and comprised of two phases,martensite and retained *** to the results of Electron Back Scattering Diffraction(EBSD)analysis and backscattering electronic image(BSE),the content of austenite residue in the sample when the sample was cooled in PAG 10 and 20%solution was 3.21%and 4.73%,respectively and smaller than the measurements obtained from oil q.enching ***,the 65Mn steel is cooled in 20%PAG solution for high hardness and more evenly distributed than when it is q

This study investigated the effect of installing underwater light-emitting diode(LED)lights in different locations(close and distant to the trap entrance)and orientations(normal and upside down direction)inside baited traps targeting snow crab(Chionoecetes opilio)off the coast of Newfoundland and Labrador,*** experimental treatments were evaluated in comparison with traditional baited traps(control).Our results showed each of the experimental treatments produced significantly higher(39%–57%;48%on average)catch per unit effort(CPUE)compared to the control traps,with no significant differences for both legal and sublegal-sized crab among the different experimental *** soak times significantly increased the CPUE of the illuminated traps,but did not affect the catch rate of the control *** results also indicated crab size freq.ency distributions were independent of experiment *** results suggest that fishing enterprises could improve their catching performance by adding LED lights to their traps,but the location and orientation of the lights appears unimportant.
