Genetic association of cOL1A1 polymorphisms with high myopia in Asian population: a Meta-analysis

AIM: To comprehensively evaluate the potential association of cOL1A1 polymorphisms with high myopia by a systematic review and Meta-analysis. METhODS: All association studies on cOL1A1 and high myopia reported up to June 10, 2014 in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the chinese Biomedical Database were retrieved. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% cIs) were analyzed for single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) using fixed- and random - effects models according to between-study heterogeneity. Publication bias analyses were conducted by Eggers test. RESULTS: A total of four studies from reported papers were included in this analysis. The Meta-analyses for cOL1A1 rs2075555, composed of 2304 high myopia patients and 2272 controls, failed to detect any significant association with high myopia. A total of 971 cases and 649 controls were tested for cOL1A1 rs2269336. The association of cOL1A1 rs2269336 with high myopia was observed in recessive model (cc vs cG+GG, P = 0.03) and in heterozygous model (cG vsGG, P = 0.04), but not in other models. cONcLUSION: This Meta-analysis shows that cOL fill rs2269336 (cc vs cG +GG) affects individual susceptibility to high myopia, whereas there is no association detected between SNPs rs2075555 and high myopia. Given the limited sample size, further investigations including more ethnic groups are required to validate the association.

目的观察缺氧缺血时脑组织损伤情况及使用参附注射液(SFI)后的病理改变、铁死亡相关因子的表达,探讨SFI通过抑制铁死亡发挥对缺氧缺血性脑损伤(hIBD)的保护作用机制。方法构建SD大鼠hIBD模型,并用SFI进行干预。hE染色观察脑组织病理改变;尼氏染色观察神经元存活情况;Western blot、免疫组织化学、免疫荧光法检测脑组织谷胱甘肽过氧化物酶4(GPX4)、二价金属离子转运蛋白1(DMT1)的表达;试剂盒检测还原型谷胱甘肽(GSh)、乳酸脱氢酶(LDh)、丙二醛(MDA)、超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)及组织铁含量。体外培养小鼠小胶质细胞系(BV2),分为对照(ctrl)组、氧糖剥夺(OGD)组、铁死亡诱导(Erastin)组、铁死亡抑制(Fer-1)组、SFI组、Erastin+SFI组,2′,7′-二氯二氢荧光素二乙酸酯(DcFh-DA)活性氧(ROS)荧光探针检测ROS释放水平;免疫荧光染色观察细胞内GPX4、DMT1表达。结果与Sham组相比,hIBD组大鼠脑组织中出现明显的神经细胞受损,GPX4表达下降(Ph与SOD含量下降(Ph、MDA及组织铁含量上升(Pham组相比,GPX4表达升高(Ph与SOD含量升高(Ph、MDA及组织铁含量降低(Pctrl组相比,OGD组ROS含量明显升高且GPX4荧光强度表达明显下降、DMT1荧光强度上升(PhIBD大鼠海马及皮质区损伤严重,GPX4表达下降、DMT1表达升高,提示铁死亡参与新生大鼠hIBD脑损伤,而SFI通过减少铁的聚集,减少ROS的产生,对hIBD实验动物模型和BV2细胞损伤模型具有保护作用。

Fabrication of Z-type barium ferrite/silica composites with enhanced microwave absorption

The Z-type barium ferrite/silica composites(Z-BcF/SiO2)were fabricated by in situ chemical synthesis *** composition,structure,morphology and magnetic behavior of the composites were characterized by chemical analysis,IR,XRD,SEM,TEM and *** results indicated that there were some interactions between two components in the Z-BcF/SiO2 composites due to the coating of SiO2 on the Z-BcF *** magnetic properties of the Z-BcF/SiO2 composites were evidently less than that of the Z-BcF,owing to the small volume fraction of magnetic components in the *** to the good transmission and loss properties on electromagnetic waves,the composites were better at microwave absorption than the parent ***,this research laid a foundation for the fabrication of highly efficient microwave absorbing material with enhanced wave impedance matching.

cryospheric changes and their impacts have received increasing concern, extending the research to include the interactions between earth spheres and the impacts of and social adaptation to cryospheric changes. As a result, cryospheric Science is rapidly developing. however, the research framework of cryospheric Science has not completely been set up, and the intension and extension of cryospheric Science are *** a literature review, the research framework for cryospheric Science and the discipline components are analysed in this paper. We consider that cryospheric Science is an inevitable product of international research on the earth and environmental changes as well as on human sustainable development. It will not only strengthen the linkage between the cryosphere and other earth spheres by deepening traditional research areas, but will also bring more focus on the critical roles of the cryosphere in interactions between earth spheres, and will enhance the relationship between cryospheric change and climate, ecology, hydrology, surface environment and sustainable development. The disciplinary tree of cryospheric Science is developed following the mainstream of change-impacts adaptation. The disciplines of cryospheric Science were teased out against characteristics of traditional branches and the developing interdisciplinary branches of cryosphere elements, which will provide reference to cryospheric Science as it systematically grows to maturity.

Lithium metal batteries are regarded as prominent contenders to address the pressing needs owing to the high theoretical *** the broader implementation,the primary obstacle lies in the intricate multi-electron,multi-step redox reaction associated with sluggish conversion kinetics,subsequently giving rise to a cascade of parasitic *** order to smooth reaction kinetics,catalysts are widely introduced to accelerate reaction rate via modulating the energy *** past decades,a large amount of research has been devoted to the catalyst design and catalytic mechanism exploration,and thus the great progress in electrochemical performance has been ***,it is necessary to make a comprehensive review toward key progress in catalyst design and future development *** this review,the basic mechanism of lithium metal batteries is provided along with corresponding advantages and existing challenges detailly *** main catalysts employed to accelerate cathode reaction with emphasis on their catalytic mechanism are summarized as ***,the rational design and innovative direction toward efficient catalysts are suggested for future application in metal-sulfur/gas battery and *** review is expected to drive and benefit future research on rational catalyst design with multi-parameter synergistic impacts on the activity and stability of next-generation metal battery,thus opening new avenue for sustainable solution to climate change,energy and environmental issues,and the potential industrial economy.

BAcKGROUND In the current World health Organization classification,acinic cell carcinoma(Accc)of the breast is considered a rare histological subtype of triple-negative breast *** of the few reports in the literature,data concerning clinical outcomes are ***,we report a case of Accc of the breast in a 48-year-old woman.A 48-year-old woman with a mass in her right breast came to our hospital for further *** and an ultrasound(US)scan showed a mass in the upper inner side of the right *** then underwent surgery to resect the mass in her right *** pathological examination revealed that the tumor had abundant acinar-like structures formed by tumor cells with prominent eosinophilic granules in the cytoplasm,consistent with acinar cell *** results of immunohistochemical analysis supported the diagnosis of breast acinar cell *** months later,she underwent breast-conserving surgery and sentinel lymph node *** pTNM stage was *** surgery,the patient received 30 radiotherapy *** patient was followed up for a period of one year,and no recurrence was *** of the breast is a rare type of malignant *** it is usually asym-ptomatic and can be detected by imaging studies,routine breast US or mamm-ograms are ***,there are no characteristic diagnostic imaging findings or clinical manifestations,so immunohistochemical examination is critical for an accurate diagnosis of Accc of the breast.

Preparation and arc erosion properties of Ag/Ti_2Snc composites under electric arc discharging

New Ag/Ti_2 Snc(Ag/TSc) composites with uniform microstructure were prepared by powder metallurgy. The superior wettability between Ag and Ti_2 Snc was confirmed with a contact angle of 14°. Arc erosion properties of Ag/10 wt%Ti_2 Snc(Ag/10 TSc) and Ag/20 wt%Ti_2 Snc(Ag/20 TSc) contacts were investigated under 400 V/100 A/Ac-3 and compared with Ag/cdO *** Ag/10 TSc contact exhibited comparable arc erosion property to Ag/cdO contact. The fine arc erosion resistance was attributed to the good wettability between Ti_2 Snc and Ag,the good heat-conducting property of Ag/10 TSc, and the slight decomposition of Ti_2 Snc that absorbed part of electric arc energy. The excessive Ti_2 Snc significantly decreased the thermal conducting property of the Ag/20 TSc composite, resulting in the severe heat accumulation that decomposed Ti_2 Snc and deteriorated arc erosion property. The oxidation behavior of Ti_2 Snc under high electric arc temperature was also studied and then an arc erosion mechanism was proposed to get a comprehensive understanding on the arc erosion property of Ag/TSc composites.

A novel method towards improving the hydrogen storage properties of hypoeutectic Mg-Ni alloy via ultrasonic treatment

Ultrasonic treatment has great contributions on modifying the morphology,dimension and distribution of constituent phases during solidification,which serve as dominate factors influencing the hydrogen storage performance of Mg-based *** this research,ultrasonic treatment is utilized as a novel method to enhance the de-/hydriding properties of Mg-2Ni(at.%)*** to ultrasonic treatment,the microstructure of as-cast alloy is significantly refined and *** to the increased eutectic boundaries and shortened distance insideα-Mg for hydrogen atoms diffusion,the hydrogen uptake capacities and isothermal de-/hydriding rates improve effectively,especially at lower *** peak desorption temperature reduces from 392.99°c to 345.56°c,and the dehydriding activation energy decreases from 101.93 k J mol^(-1)to 88.65 k J mol^(-1).Weakened hysteresis of plateau pressures and slightly optimized thermodynamics are determined from the pressure-composition *** to the refined primary Mg,a larger amount of hydrogen with the higher hydriding proportion is absorbed in the first stage when hydrides nucleate in eutectic region and grow on primary Mg periphery subsequently before Mgh2colonies impinging,resulting in the enhancement of hydrogenation rates and capacities.
