in the United States,colorectal cancer(CRC)is the second leading cause of mortality in men and *** are now seeing an increasing number of patients with advanced-stage diagnosis and mortality from colorectal cancer before 50 years of age,which requires earlier *** the increasing need for CRC screening through colonoscopy,and thus endoscopists,easier and simpler techniques are needed to train proficient *** most widely used approach by endoscopists is air insufflation colonoscopy,where air distends the colon to allow visualization of the colonic *** technique is uncomfortable for patients and requires an anesthetist to administer *** addition,patients commonly complain about discomfort post-op as air escapes into the small bowel and cannot be adequately *** research into the use of water insufflation colonoscopies has proved promising in reducing the need for sedation,decreasing discomfort,and increasing the visibility of the colonic *** direction into water insufflation colonoscopies which have shown to be simpler and easier to teach may increase the number of proficient endoscopists in training to serve our aging population.

A pulsed,picosecond Nd:YAG laser with a wavelength of 532 nm is used to texture the surface of grade 5 titanium alloy(Ti–6Al–4v)for minimizing its wear *** wear properties of the base samples and laser surface textured samples are analyzed by conducting wear tests under a sliding condition using pin-on-disk *** wear tests are conducted based on the Box–Benhken design,and the interaction of the process parameters is analyzed using response surface *** wear analysis is conducted by varying the load,rotating speed of the disc,and track diameter at room temperature with a sliding distance of 1500 *** results demonstrate that the laser textured surfaces exhibited a lower coefficient of friction and good anti-wear properties as compared with the non-textured surfaces.A regression model is developed for the wear analysis of titanium alloy using the analysis of variance *** is also observed from the analysis that the applied load and sliding distance are the parameters that have the greatest effect on the wear behavior followed by the wear track *** optimum operating conditions have been suggested based on the results obtained from the numerical optimization approach.

A theoretical methodology is suggested for finding the malaria parasites’presence with the help of an intelligent hyper-parameter tuned Deep Learning(DL)based malaria parasite detection and classification(HPTDL-MPDC)in the smear images of human peripheral *** existing approaches fail to predict the malaria parasitic features and reduce the prediction *** trained model initiated in the proposed system for classifying peripheral blood smear images into the non-parasite or parasite classes using the available online *** Adagrad optimizer is stacked with the suggested pre-trained Deep Neural Network(DNN)with the help of the contrastive divergence method to *** features are extracted from the images in the proposed system to train the DNN for initializing the visible *** smear images show the concatenated feature to be utilized as the feature vector in the proposed ***,hyper-parameters are used to fine-tune DNN to calculate the class labels’*** suggested system outperforms more modern methodologies with an accuracy of 91%,precision of 89%,recall of 93%and F1-score of 91%.The HPTDL-MPDC has the primary application in detecting the parasite of malaria in the smear images of human peripheral blood.

Edge preserved smoothing techniques have gained importance for the purpose of image processing applications A good edge preserving filter is given by nonlocal-means filter rather than any other linear model based approaches. This paper explores a different approach of nonlocal-means filter by using robust M-estimator function rather than the exponential function for its weight calculation. Here the filter output at each pixel is the weighted average of pixels with surrounding neighborhoods using the chosen robust M-estimator function. The main direction of this paper is to identify the best robust M-estimator function for nonlocal-means denoising algorithm. in order to speed up the computation, a new patch classification method is followed to eliminate the uncorrelated patches from the weighted averaging process. This patch classification approach compares favorably to existing techniques in respect of quality versus computational time. validations using standard test images and brain atlas images have been analyzed and the results were compared with the other known methods. it is seen that there is reason to beli.ve that the proposed refined technique has some notable points.

Recently,with the growth of cyber physical systems(CPS),several applications have begun to deploy in the CPS for connecting the cyber space with the physical scale ***,the cloud computing(CC)enabled CPS offers huge processing and storage resources for CPS thatﬁnds helpful for a range of application *** the same time,with the massive development of applica-tions that exist in the CPS environment,the energy utilization of the cloud enabled CPS has gained signiﬁcant *** improving the energy effective-ness of the CC platform,virtualization technologies have been employed for resource management and the applications are executed via virtual machines(vMs).Since effective scheduling of resources acts as an important role in the design of cloud enabled CPS,this paper focuses on the design of chaotic sandpi-per optimization based vM scheduling(CSPO-vMS)technique for energy efﬁ-cient *** CSPO-vMS technique is utilized for searching for the optimum vM migration solution and it helps to choose an effective scheduling *** CSPO algorithm integrates the concepts of traditional SPO algorithm with the chaos theory,which substitutes the main parameter and combines it with the *** order to improve the process of determining the global optimum solutions and convergence rate of the SPO algorithm,the chaotic concept is included in the SPO *** CSPO-vMS technique also derives aﬁtness function to choose optimal scheduling strategy in the CPS *** order to demonstrate the enhanced performance of the CSPO-vMS technique,a wide range of simulations were carried out and the results are examined under varying *** simulation results ensured the improved performance of the CSPO-vMS technique over the recent methods interms of different measures.

The present work proposes a novel radially cross-flow multistage solid-liquid circulating fluidized bed （SLCFB）. The SLCFB primarily consists of a single multistage column （having an inner diameter of 100 mm and length of 1.40 m）, which is divided into two sections wherein both the steps of utilization or loading （e.g., adsorption and catalytic reaction） and regeneration of the solid phase can be carried out simulta- neously in continuous mode. The hydrodynamic characteristics were studied using ion exchange resin as the solid phase and water as the fluidizing medium. The loading and flooding states were determined for three particle sizes; i.e,. 0.30, 0,42, and 0.61 ram. The effects of the superficial liquid velocity and solid feed rate on the solid hold-up were i.vestigated under loading and flooding conditions. The solid hold-up increases with an increase in the solid feed rate and decreases with an increase in the superficial liquid velocity. An artificial-intelligence formalism, namely the multilayer perceptron neural network （MLPNN）, was employed for the prediction of the solid hold-up. The input space of MLPNN-based model consists of four parameters, representing operating and system parameters of the proposed SLCFB. The developed MLPNN-based model has excellent prediction accuracy and generalization capability.

BACKGROUND:Developments in information technology(iT)have driven a push in healthcare innovation in the emergency department(ED).Many of these applications rely on mobile technology(MT)such as smartphones but not everyone is comfortable with MT *** study aims to characterize the technology usage behavior of users in the ED so as to guide the implementation of iT interventions in the ***:A cross-sectional survey was conducted in the emergency department of a tertiary *** and their caregivers aged 21 and above were *** survey collected demographic information,technology usage patterns,and participant reported comfort level in the usage of *** performed descriptive statistics and multivariate logistic regression to identify factors differentially associated with comfort in usage of ***:A total of 498 participants were recruited,and 299(60%)were *** was the most commonly written and read language(66.9%)and 64.2%reported a comfort level of 3/5 or more in using *** that were associated with being comfortable in using MT include having a tertiary education,being able to read and write English,as well as being a frequent user of *** were more likely to display these ***:A large proportion of ED patients are not comfortable in the usage of *** that predicted comfort level in the usage of MT were common amongst *** interventions should take this into consideration in the design of MT interventions.

The sub-micron（of the order of 150 nm） thick core–shell composite fibers of magnesium ferrite-polyvinylidene fluoride are prepared by *** loading of magnesium ferrite is varied from 1 to 10 wt%.The study results by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscope,and infra-red spectroscopy indicate the formation of core–shell structure and an enhancement in the amount of b-phase compared to a-phase in the polyvinylidene *** particle size of the magnesium ferrite in the fiber is evaluated to be 30 *** low frequency dielectric studies indicate that the addition of the magnesium ferrite increases the polarization resulting in the increase in the dielectric constant but decreases the dielectric *** magnetization measurements indicate an increased value of coercivity compared to bulk due to the nano-size of the magnesium *** microwave absorption at the ferromagnetic resonance increases with the increase in the concentration of magnesium *** resonance field is found to vary with the loading of MFO.
