Large reversible magnetocaloric effect in antiferromagnetic Er_(3)Si_(2)C_(2) compound

The magnetic properties,magnetic phase transition and magnetocaloric effects(MCE) of Er_(3)Si_(2)C_(2) compound were investigated based on theoretical calculations and experimental *** on the first principles calculations,the antiferromagnetic(AFM) ground state type in Er_(3)Si_(2)C_(2) compound was predicted and its electronic structure was *** experimental results show that Ei_(3)Si_(2)C_(2) compound is an AFM compound with the neel temperature(T_(n) of 7 K and undergoes a field-induced firstorder magnetic phase transition from AFM to ferromagnetic(FM) under magnetic fields exceeding 0.6 T at 2 *** magnetic transition process of Er_(3)Si_(2)C_(2) compound was investigated and *** values of the maximum magnetic entropy change(-ΔS_(M)^(max)) and the refrigeration capacity(RC) are 17 J/(kg·K)and 193 J/kg under changing magnetic fields of 0-5 T,*** a potential cryogenic magnetic refrigerant,the Er_(3)Si_(2)C_(2) compound also provides an interesting research medium to study the magnetic phase transition process.

Semiconductor-based photocatalysis by utilizing solar energy for sustainable organic pollutant elimination has been a promising tactic to alleviate environmental ***,the development of robust and efficient photocatalysts to degrade organic pollutants still faces major challenges because of insufficient charge *** we design and fabricate a heterojunction consisting of copper,carbon-modified TiO_(2),and sulfur-doped g-C_(3)n_(4)nanosheets(i.e.,S-C_(3)n_(4)/Cu/C-TiO_(2)).The heterostructure affords a remarkable synergistic photocatalysis for tetracycline hydrochloride degradation,achieving an 82.6%removal efficiency within 30 min under visible light irradiation,about 15.4 and 7.3 times higher than that of S-C_(3)n_(4)and C-TiO_(2),*** superior performance is attributed to the synergy between Cu doping and the Z-scheme heterojunction,which not only enhances the interfacial electric field effect,facilitating charge separation,but also boosts the redox *** charge carrier transfer between Cu/C-TiO_(2)and S-C_(3)n_(4)follows a Z-scheme,as verified by trapping experiments,electron spin-resonance spectroscopy,and density functional theory ***,the tetracycline hydrochloride degradation pathways are enunciated by liquid chromatograph mass spectrometry *** work provides an effective approach for constructing high-performance photocatalysts that have potential in environmental remediation.

Big Bang nucleosynthesis(BBn)theory predicts the primordial abundances of the light elements^(2) H(referred to as deuterium,or D for short),^(3)He,^(4)He,and^(7) Li produced in the early *** these,deuterium,the first nuclide produced by BBn,is a key primordial material for subsequent *** date,the uncertainty in predicted deuterium abundance(D/H)remains larger than the observational *** this study,the Monte Carlo simulation code PRIMAT was used to investigate the sensitivity of 11 important BBn reactions to deuterium *** found that the reaction rate uncertainties of the four reactions d(d,n)^(3)He,d(d,p)t,d(p,γ)^(3)He,and p(n,γ)d had the largest influence on the calculated D/H ***,the calculated D/H uncertainty cannot reach observational precision even with the recent LUnA precise d(p,γ)^(3) He *** the nuclear physics aspect,there is still room to largely reduce the reaction-rate uncertainties;hence,further measurements of the important reactions involved in BBn are still necessary.A photodisintegration experiment will be conducted at the Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source Facility to precisely study the deuterium production reaction of p(n,γ)d.

Directed x-rays produced in the interaction of sub-picosecond laser pulses of moderate relativistic intensity with plasma of near-critical density are investigated. Synchrotron-like (betatron) radiation occurs in the process of direct laser acceleration (DLA) of electrons in a relativisticlaser channel when the electrons undergo transverse betatron oscillations in self-generated quasi-static electric and magnetic fields. In anexperiment at the PHELIX laser system, high-current directed beams of DLA electrons with a mean energy ten times higher than the ponderomotive potential and maximum energy up to 100 MeV were measured at 10^(19) w/cm^(2)laser intensity. The spectrum of directed x-raysin the range of 5–60 keV was evaluated using two sets of Ross filters placed at 0°and 10°to the laser pulse propagation axis. The differential x-ray absorption method allowed for absolute measurements of the angular-dependent photon fluence. we report 10^(13) photons/sr withenergies >5 keV measured at 0°to the laser axis and a brilliance of 10^(21) photons s^(−1) mm^(−2) mrad−2(0.1%Bw)−1. The angular distributionof the emission has an FwHM of 14°–16°. Thanks to the ultra-high photon fluence, point-like radiation source, and ultra-short emissiontime, DLA-based keV backlighters are promising for various applications in high-energy-density research with kilojoule petawatt-class laserfacilities.

Electrocatalytic oxidation reaction of biomass-based derivatives is an excellent candidate to replace water oxidation for obtaining both value-added products and hydrogen(H_(2)),but the exploration of competent electrocatalysts is still highly ***,two new types of three-dimensional self-supported hollow microarrays containing Coni layered double hydroxide(Coni-LDH)and n-doped carbon nanosheets decorated with Coni alloyed nanoparticles(Coni-nC)on carbon cloth(CC)are prepared,which are further used as efficient electrocatalysts for tetrahydroisoquinoline(THIQ)electrooxidation and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),*** demonstrate that the Co-modulated electronic environment for ni(II)/ni(Ⅲ)redox-looping in Coni-LDH is the main factor to boost the selectivity of 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline(DHIQ)for the indirect electrooxidation process of *** functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that the ni(Ⅲ)/Co(Ⅲ)dual sites of Coni-LDH exhibit enhanced adsorption for THIQ but poorer adsorption for DHIQ compared to pure Co(Ⅲ)or ni(Ⅲ).Therefore,the ni(Ⅲ)/Co(Ⅲ)dual sites can effectively inhibit the peroxidation of DHIQ to isoquinoline(IQ)over Coni-LDH,thus improving the selectivity of DHIQ to nearly 100%,much higher than that of its pure ni ***,CC@Coni-nC can deliver high HER activity with low overpotential(40 mV@10 mA·cm^(-2))and high exchange current density(3.08 mA·cm^(-2)).Impressively,the assembled flow-cell device with CC@Coni-LDH anode and CC@Coni-nC cathode only requires low cell voltage and electricity consumption of 1.6 V and 3.50 kwh per cubic meter of H_(2)(@25 mA·cm^(-2)).

Fractional initial-value problems(IVPs) and time-fractional initial-boundary value problems(IBVPs), each with a Caputo temporal derivative of order α ∈(0, 1), are considered. An averaged variant of the well-known L1 scheme is proved to be O(n^(-2)) convergent for IVPs on suitably graded meshes with n points, thereby improving the O(n^(-(2-α))) convergence rate of the standard L1 scheme. The analysis relies on a delicate decomposition of the temporal truncation error that yields a sharp dependence of the order of convergence on the degree of mesh grading used. This averaged L1 scheme can be combined with a finite difference or piecewise linear finite element discretization in space for IBVPs, and under a restriction on the temporal mesh width, one gets again O(n^(-2)) convergence in time, together with O(h^(2)) convergence in space,where h is the spatial mesh width. numerical experiments support our results.

Compared to single atom catalysts（SACs）,the introduction of dual atom catalysts（DACs） has a significantly positive effect on improving the efficiency in the electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction reaction（nRR） which provides an environmental alternative to the Haber-Bosch ***,the research on the mechanism and strategy of designing bimetallic combinations for better performance is still in its early ***,based on "blocking and rebalance" mechanism,45 combinations of bimetallic pair doped α-phosphorus carbide（TMATMB@PC） are investigated as efficient nRR catalysts through density functional theory and machine learning *** a multi-step screening,the combinations of TiV,TiFe,MnMo,and Few exhibit highly efficient catalytic performance with significantly lower limiting potentials（-0.17,-0.18,-0.14,and-0.30 V,respectively）.Excitingly,the limiting potential for CrMo and Crw combinations is 0 V,which are considered to be extremely suitable for the nRR *** mechanism of "blocking and rebalance" is revealed by the exploration of charge transfer for phosphorus atoms in electron blocking ***,the descriptor φ is proposed with machine learning,which provides design strategies and accurate prediction for finding efficient *** work not only offers promising catalysts TMATMB@PC for nRR process but also provides design strategies by presenting the descriptor φ.

RnA-binding proteins(RBPs)accompany RnA from synthesis to decay,mediating every aspect of RnA metabolism and impacting diverse cellular and developmental processes in *** RBPs undergo phase separation along with their bound RnA to form and function in dynamic membraneless biomolecular condensates for spatiotemporal coordination or regulation of RnA *** evidence suggests that phase-separating RBPs with RnA-binding domains and intrinsically disordered regions play important roles in plant development and stress ***,we summarize the current knowledge about how dynamic partitioning of RBPs into condensates controls plant development and enables sensing of experimental changes to confer growth plasticity under stress conditions,with a focus on the dynamics and functional mechanisms of RBP-rich nuclear condensates and cytoplasmic granules in mediating RnA *** also discuss roles of multiple factors,such as environmental signals,protein modifications,and n6-methyladenosine RnA methylation,in modulating the phase separation behaviors of RBPs,and highlight the prospects and challenges for future research on phase-separating RBPs in crops.
