Objective:To study the in vivo efficacy of these two ACTs in the treatment of Plasmodium falciparum {*** malaria) in kolkata and to detennine the prevalence of mutant S769N codon of the PfATPase6 gene among field isolates of *** collected from the study area. Methods:A total of 207 *** positive cases were enrolled randomly in two study arms and followed up for 42 days as per WHO(2009) protocol.A portion of PfATPase6 gene spanning codon S769N was amplified and sequenced by direct sequencing ***:It was observed that the efficacy of bodi the ACT regimens were highly effective in the study area and no mutant S769N was detected from any ***:The used,combination AS+SP is effective and the other combination AM+I.F might be an alternative,if needed.

Lesser Himalayan sequences in Eastern Himalaya and their deformation:Implications for Paleoproterozoic tectonic activity along the northern margin of India

Substantial part of the northern margin of Indian plate is subducted beneath the Eurasian plate during the Caenozoic Himalayan orogeny, obscuring older tectonic events in the Lesser Himalaya known to host Proterozoic sedimentary successions and granitic bodies. Tectonostratigraphic units of the Proterozoic Lesser Himalayan sequence （LHS） of Eastern Himalaya, namely the Daling Group in Sikkim and the Bomdila Group in Arunachal Pradesh, provide clues to the nature and extent of Proterozoic passive margin sedimentation, their involvement in pre-Himalayan orogeny and implications for supercontinent reconstruction. The Daling Group, consisting of flaggy quartzite, meta-greywacke and metapelite with minor mafic dyke and sill, and the overlying Buxa Formation with stromatolitic carbonate-quartzite- slate, represent shallow marine, passive margin platformal association. Similar lithostratigraphy and broad depositional framework, and available geochronological data from intrusive granites in Eastern Himalaya indicate strikewise continuity of a shallow marine Paleoproterozoic platformal sequence up to Arunachal Pradesh through Bhutan. Multiple fold sets and tectonic foliations in LHS formed during partial or complete closure of the sea/ocean along the northern margin of Paleoproterozoic India. Such deformation fabrics are absent in the upper Palaeozoic-Mesozoic Gondwana formations in the Lesser Himalaya of Darjeeling-Sikkim indicating influence of older orogeny. kinematic analysis based on microstructure, and garnet composition suggest Paleoproterozoic deformation and metamorphism of LHS to be distinct from those associated with the foreland propagating thrust systems of the Caenozoic Himalayan collisional belt. As ancient civilizations China and India had close cultural and commercial ties, but they drifted apart after eleventh century until the mid-twentieth century. In the 1990s, the two emerging-market economies once again began to interact and become economically close. The bilateral relationship was strengthened by political initiatives and determination from both sides. Their mutual trade and investment are on the rise and their new relationship has been evolving in accordance with the new diplomatic stance of conciliation. The bilateral economic bonds are likely to involve both competitive and collaborative dimensions. The two neighbors have determined to develop more extensive cooperation in regional and international affairs.

We consider the energy dynamics of the power generation from the sun when the solar energy is con- centrated on to the emitter ofa thermo-electronic converter with the help of a parabolic mirror. We use the modified Richardson-Dushman equation. The emitter cross section is assumed to be exactly equal to the focused area at a height h from the base of the mirror to prevent loss of efficiency. We report the variation of output power with solar insolation, height h, reflectivity of the mirror, and anode temperature, initially assuming that there is no space charge effect. Our methodology allows us to predict the temperature at which the anode must be cooled in order to prevent loss of efficiency of power conversion. Novel ways of tackling the space charge problem have been discussed. The space charge effect is modeled through the introduction of a parameter f （0 〈 f 〈 1） in the thermos-electron emission equation. We find that the efficiency of the power conversion depends on solar insolation, height h, apart from radii R of the concentrator aperture and emitter, and the collector material properties. We have also considered solar thermos electronic power conversion by using single atom-layer graphene as an emitter.

The aim of this study is to investigate the applicability of reliability theory on surface square/rectangular footing against bearing capacity failure using fuzzy set theory in conjunction with the finite element *** is modeled as a three-dimensional spatially varying medium,where its parameters(cohesion,friction angle,unit weight,etc.)are considered as fuzzy variables that maintain some membership *** is idealized as an elastic-perfectly plastic material obeying the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion,where both associated and non-associated flow rules are considered in estimating the ultimate bearing capacity of the *** spatial variability of the soil is incorporated for both isotropic and anisotropic fields,which are determined by the values of scales of fluctuation in both the horizontal and vertical directions.A new parameter namely,limiting applied pressure at zero failure probability is proposed,and it indirectly predicts the failure probability of the *** effect of the coefficient of variation of the friction angle of the soil on the probability of failure is analyzed,and it is observed that the effect is ***,the effect of the scale of fluctuation on the probability of failure is investigated,and the necessity for considering spatial variability in the reliability analysis is well proven.

Objective:To investigate the hepatoprotective activity of Averroha carambola fruit extract against carbon tetrachloride induced hepatic ***:Hepatotoxicity was induced on albino mice by intraperitoneal administration of CCl4.half an hour after the administration of the last dose of the extract of Averroha carambola *** extract of the fruit of Averroha carambola was administered at a dose of 0.9 g/kg body weight once daily for seven *** hepatic injury and its prevention was assessed by the estimation of serum activities of alanine aminotransferase（ALT）,aspartate aminotransferase（AST）,alkaline phosphates（ALP）,glutathione level and histopathological studies of ***:Pre-treatment of mice with the fruit extract of Averrhoea carambola significantly reduced serum levels of ALT,AST and ALP enzyme and significantly increased the liver reduced glutathione levels 24 h after the administration of carbon tetrachloride.A marked improvement in the enzyme activities and the liver reduced glulathione level was observed in the pre-treated mice 4 days after the administration of carbon tetrachloride. Histopathological studies provided supportive evidence for the biochemical analvsis. Conclusions:The aqueous extract of the fruit of Averrhoea carambola has hepatoprotective effect against carbon tetrachloride induced liver damage in mice.
