Comparative effectiveness of i-SCAN^(Tm) and high-definition white light characterizing small colonic polyps

AIm： To evaluate accuracy of in vivo diagnosis of ad- enomatous vs non-adenomatous polyps using/-SCAN digital chromoendoscopy compared with high-definition white light. mETHODS： This is a single-center comparative effec- tiveness pilot study. Polyps （n = 103） from 75 average- risk adult outpatients undergoing screening or surveil- lance colonoscopy between December 1, 2010 and April 1, 2011 were evaluated by two participating en- doscopists in an academic outpatient endoscopy center. Polyps were evaluated both with high-definition white light and with/-SCAN to make an/n vivo prediction of adenomatous vs non-adenomatous pathology. We de- termined diagnostic characteristics of/-SCAN and high- definition white light, including sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy, with regards to identifying adenomatous vs non-adenomatous polyps. Histopathologic diagnosis was the gold standard comparison. RESULTS： One hundred and three small polyps, de- tected from forty-three patients, were included in the analysis. The average size of the polyps evaluated in the analysis was 3.7 mm （SD 1.3 mm, range 2 mm to 8 mm）. Formal histopathology revealed that 54/103 （52.4%） were adenomas, 26/103 （25.2%） were hyper- plastic, and 23/103 （22.3%） were other diagnoses in- clude ＂lymphoid aggregates＂, ＂non-specific colitis,＂ and ＂no pathologic diagnosis.＂ Overall, the combined accu- racy of endoscopists for predicting adenomas was iden- tical between/-SCAN （71.8%, 95%CI： 62.1%-80.3%） and high-definition white light （71.8%, 95%CI： 62.1%-80.3%）. However, the accuracy of each endosco- pist differed substantially, where endoscopist A demon- strated 63.0% overall accuracy （95%CI： 50.9%-74.0%） as compared with endoscopist B demonstrating 93.3% overall accuracy （95%CI： 77.9%-99.2%）, irrespective of imaging modality. Phantom limb pain is a chronic pain syndrome that is difficult to cope *** neurostimulation treatment is indicated for refractory neuropathic pain,there is scant evidence from randomized controlled trials to recommend it as the treatment ***,a systematic review was performed to analyze the efficacy of central nervous system stimulation therapies as a strategy for pain management in patients with phantom limb pain.A literature search for studies conducted between 1970 and September 2020 was carried out using the mEDLINE and Embase *** of The Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and meta-Analyses guideline were *** were a total of 10 full-text articles retrieved and included in this *** brain stimulation,repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation,transcranial direct current stimulation,and motor cortex stimulation were the treatment strategies used in the selected clinical *** transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial direct current stimulation were effective therapies to reduce pain perception,as well as to relieve anxiety and depression symptoms in phantom limb pain ***,invasive approaches were considered the last treatment option as evidence in deep brain stimulation and motor cortex stimulation suggests that the value of phantom limb pain treatment remains ***,the findings on use of these treatment strategies in other forms of neuropathic pain suggest that these invasive approaches could be a potential option for phantom limb pain patients.

In this work,the results of the study on the optical properties of the perovskite structure ABO3 with La^(3+) substitution for ions K^(+) and Na^(+) in the A site and Ti^(4+) substitution for ion Nb^(5+) in the B site are *** ceramics were sintered at 1100℃ and 1190℃ and formed at 10 mPa and 80 *** ceramics were obtained with 94% of the theoretical *** piezoresponse force microscopy(PFm)showed needle-shaped grains with a size of 30 nm for the samples formed at 10 mPa at both sintering ***,the high temperature and high pressure used in formation reduced the energy of the band gap(Eg)from 3.36 to 3.09 *** emissions to 2.19,1.86,2.5,and 2.31 eV were obtained by exciting the samples at 325,373,457,and 500 nm,respectively;these emissions corresponded to blue-yellow-red regions of the visible spectrum.

Over the decades,the spin dynamics of a large set of lanthanide complexes have been ***-based molecular nanomagnets are bistable spin systems,generally conceptualised as classical bits,but many lanthanide complexes have also been presented as candidate quantum bits(qubits).Here,we offer a third alternative and model them as probabilistic bits(p-bits),where their stochastic behaviour constitutes a computational resource instead of a *** an ad-hoc modelling tool for molecular spin p-bits and molecular nanomagnets,we simulate a minimal p-bit network under realistic ***,we go back to a recently published dataset and screen the best lanthanide complexes for p-bit behaviour,lay out the performance of the different lanthanide ions and chemical families and offer some chemical design considerations.

Rainfall Sensitivity to microphysics and Planetary Boundary Layer Parameterizations in Convection-Permitting Simulations over Northwestern South America

Convection-permitting modeling allows us to understand mechanisms that influence rainfall in specific ***,microphysics parameterization(mP) and planetary boundary layer(PBL) schemes remain an important source of uncertainty,affecting rainfall intensity,occurrence,duration,and ***,we study the sensitivity of rainfall to three mP [Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF) Single-moment 6-class(WSm6),Thompson,and morrison] and two PBL [the Yonsei University(YSU) and mellor–Yamada Nakanishi Niino(mYNN)] schemes with a convection-permitting resolution(4 km) over northwestern South America(NWSA).Simulations were performed by using the WRF model and the results were evaluated against soundings,rain gauges,and satellite data,considering the spatio-temporal variability of rainfall over diverse regions prone to deep convection in *** and PBL schemes largely influenced simulated rainfall,with better results for the less computationally expensive WSm6 mP and YSU PBL *** rain gauges and satellite estimates,simulations with morrison mP overestimated rainfall,especially westward of the Andes,whereas the mYNN PBL underestimated precipitation in the Amazon–Savannas *** found that the uncertainty in the rainfall representation is highly dependent on the region,with a higher influence of mP in the Colombian Pacific and PBL in the Amazon–Savannas *** analyzing rainfall-related processes,the selection of both mP and PBL parameterizations exerted a large influence on the simulated lower tropospheric moisture flux and moisture *** schemes significantly influenced the downward shortwave radiation,with mYNN simulating a greater amount of low clouds,which decreased the radiation ***,latent heat fluxes were greater for YSU,favoring moist convection and *** schemes had a marked impact on vertical ***,morrison mP showed stronger convection and higher precipitation rates,which is assoc

New field observations and petrological data from Early Cretaceous metamorphic rocks in the Central Cordillera of the Colombian Andes allowed the recognition of thermally overprinted high-pressure rocks derived from oceanic crust *** obtained metamorphic path suggests that the rocks evolved from blueschist to eclogite facies towards upper amphibolite to high-pressure granulite facies transitional *** facies conditions,better recorded in mafic protoliths,are revealed by relic lawsonite and phengite,bleb-to worm-like diopside-albite symplectites,as well as garnet core *** amphibolite to high pressure granulite facies overprinting is supported by coarse-grained brown-colored Ti-rich amphibole,augite,and oligoclase recrystallization,as well as the record of partial melting *** equilibria and pressure-temperature(P-T)path modeling suggest initial high-pressure metamorphic conditions m1 yielding 18.2-24.5 kbar and 465-580℃,followed by upper amphibolite to high pressure granulite facies overprinting stage m2 yielding 6.5-14.2 kbar and 580-720℃.Retrograde conditions m3 obtained through chlorite thermometry yield temperatures ranging around 286-400℃at pressures below 6.5-11 *** obtained clockwise P-T path,the garnet zonation pattern revealing a decrease in X_(grs)/X_(prp)related to mg#increment from core to rim,the presence of partial melting veins,as well as regional constraints,document the modification of the thermal structure of the active subduction zone in Northern Andes during the Early *** increment of the metamorphic gradient within the subduction interface is associated with slab roll-back geodynamics where hot mantle inflow was *** scenario is also argued by the reported trench-ward magmatic arc migration and multiple extensional basin formation during this *** presented example constitutes the first report of Cretaceous roll-back-related metamorphism in the Caribbean and Ande

This paper analyzes the viability of a new microcogeneration system with a Stirling engine micro-CHP(combined heat and power)and renewable solar energy:thermal and photovoltaic system,using accumulation system for hot water and ion lithium batteries for electricity.A weather station gives real meteorological parameters for mediterranean climate(málaga,Spain).A control unit permits to have a full automated system,which works according to a *** controller also allows theorizing a demand profile curve of daily consumption,typical for this or other *** studies analyse different kinds of combined systems by simulating or making the real installation to obtain results for either microcogeneration or solar power,but not together,*** heating applications to obtain a constant consumption of hot *** new system shows a new combination of resources(natural gas in Stirling and solar energy systems),and the implementation allows doing experiments with different profiles of consumption to have real,non-theoretical,*** control system is self-governing:it connects the different supplies of energy(solar thermal,photovoltaic,Stirling or batteries)depending on the demand,this demand can be changed by simulating any profile:domestic(heat and power),business,low thermal demand,low electricity demand,etc.

目的:检查一组正常青少年高加索人群视网膜各项指标,以确定该年龄段和种族群体双眼之间不对称性的正常范围。方法:所研究人群包含37名高加索儿童和青少年,年龄12~23岁,等效球镜-3.00D^+4.00D,屈光参差mm。检测正常两眼各指标之间不对称性数值和两眼之间差异容许值的95%范围。结果:所有受试者左眼检测数值更大,两眼之间平均视网膜神经纤维(RNFL)厚度和上方RNFL厚度差异有统计学意义(P=0.003,0.008),中央黄斑厚度也存在显著差异(P=0.039)。检测得出以上三项两眼之间不对称性容许范围分别-9.00~6.00μm、-28.00~9μm、-39.00~29.00μm。此外,男性和女性之间右眼平均RNFL厚度的差异有统计学意义(P=0.020)。结论:两眼之间视网膜检测数值不对称性正常范围的研究可能是更进一步了解近视发生和发展的有效方法。这对于该年龄段的人群十分重要。检测仪器和检测人群特征的不同限制了研究结果和已发表文献的直接比较,需要进一步研究。

Human Spermicidal Activity of Passiflora edulis Extract

Objective To evaluate the spermicidal activity of Passiflora edulis extract on human spermatozoa. methods Human spermatozoa were incubated with P. edulis extracts and their motility and viability were evaluated; additionally, the cytotoxic effect of the extracts was evaluated by the tetrazolium bromide （mTT） reduction assay. Results The motility and viability were decreased immediately after treatment with a 21% dilution of the supernatant of the extract of P. edulis （P〈0.01）. No cytatoxic effect of the extracts studied was found on proliferation of mDBK and VERO cells. Conclusion These results may open the way for the use of P. edulis as a spermicidal product with less adverse effects.
