Pure Laparoscopic Liver Resection for malignant Liver Tumor： Anatomic Resection Versus Nonanatomic Resection

Background： Laparoscopic liver resection （LLR） has been considered to be safe and feasible. However, few studies focused on the comparison between the anatomic and nonanatomic LLR. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to compare the perioperative factors and outcomes of the anatomic and nonanatomic LLR, especially the area of liver parenchymal transection and blood loss per unit area. Methods： In this study, surgical and oncological data of patients underwent pure LLR procedures for malignant liver tumor were prospectively collected. Blood loss per unit area of liver parenchymal transection was measured and considered as an important parameter. All procedures were conducted by a single surgeon. Results： During nearly 5 years, 84 patients with malignant liver tumor received a pure LLR procedure were included. Among them, 34 patients received anatomic LLR and 50 received nonanatomic LLR, respectively. Patients of the two groups were similar in terms of demographic features and tumor characteristics, despite the tumor size was significantly larger in the anatomic LLR group than that in the nonanatomic LLR group （4.77 ± 2.57 vs. 2.87 ± 2.10 cm, P = 0.001）. Patients who underwent anatomic resection had longer operation time （364.09 ± 131.22 vs. 252.00±135.21 min, P 〈 0.001） but less blood loss per unit area （7.85 ± 7.17 vs. 14.17 ± 10.43 ml/cm2, P = 0.018）. Nonanatomic LLR was associated with more blood loss when the area of parenchymal transection was equal to the anatomic LLR. No mortality occurred during the hospital stay and 30 days alter the operation. Moreover, there was no difference in the incidence of postoperative complications. The disease-free and overall survival rates showed no significant differences between the anatomic LLR and nonanatomic LLR groups. Conclusions： Both anatomic and nonanatomic pure LLR are safe and feasible. Microstructural Depictions of Austenite Dynamic Recrystallization in a Low-Carbon Steel:A Cellular Automaton Model

A mesoscopic cellular automaton model that takes into account grain deformation during hot deformation has been developed to quantitatively depict the microstructural evolution of the austenite dynamic recrystallization （DRX） in a low-carbon steel. Both the grain deformation and the concept of DRX cycle are introduced, allowing accurate depictions of the grain structures, the overall microstructural properties and the flow stress evolutions that involving in the austenite DRX. The simulation results are compared with the experimental results and the predictions by the macroscopic DRX model and are found to be in good agreement.

The Rigid Body Type Poisson Structure for the Constrained NLS System

A constrained system associated with a 3×3 matrix spectral problem of the nonlinear Schrodinger(NLS) hierarchy is proposed. It is shown that the constrained system is a Hamiltonian system with the rigid body type Poisson structure on the Poisson manifold R3N. Further, the reduction of the constrained system extended to the common level set of the complex cones is proved to be the constrained AKNS system on C2N.

Gene polymorphisms of interleukin-28, p21-activated protein kinases 4, and response to interferon-α based therapy in Chinese patients with chronic hepatitis B

Background Peg-lnterferon-a treatment is expensive and associated with considerable adverse effects, selection of patients with the highest probability of response is essential for clinical practice. The objective of this study was to assess the relationship between the gene polymorphisms of interleukin-28 （IL-28）, p21-activated protein kinase 4 （PAK4） and the response to interferon treatment in chronic hepatitis B patients. Methods Two hundred and forty interferon-naive treatment HBeAg seropositive chronic hepatitis B patients were enrolled in the present prospective nested case-control study. Peripheral blood samples were collected, including 92 with favorable response and 148 without response to the interferon treatment. Rs8099917, rs12980602, and rs9676717 SNP was genotyped using matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry （maLDI-TOF MS）. Results IL-28 genotype was not associated with response to interferon treatment （OR for GT/GG vs. TT, 0.881 （95% CI 0.388-2.002）; P=0.762; OR for CT/CC vs. TT, 0.902 （95% CI 0.458-1.778）; P=-0.766）. Rs9676717 in PAK4 genotype was independently associated with the response （OR for CT/CC vs. TT, 0.524 （95% CI 0.310-0.888）; P=0.016）. When adjusting for age, gender, smoking, drinking, levels of hepatitis B virus DNA, and alanine aminotransferase （ALT）, rs9676717 genotype TT appeared to be associated with a higher probability of response for interferon treatment （OR, 0.155 （95% CI 0.034-0.700）; P=0.015）. Conclusion Genotype TTfor rs9676717 in PAK4 gene and no drinking may be predictive of the interferon-a treatment success.

Expression of Nkx3.1 enhances 17β-estradiol anti-tumor action in PC3 human prostate cancer cells

Aim： To explore whether the anti-tumor action of 17β-estradiol is enhanced by re-expression of the homeodomain transcription factor Nkx3.1 in PC3 human prostate cancer cells. Methods： PC3 cells were stably transfected with pcDNA3.1-Nkx3.1-His vector, which carries a full-length cDNA of human Nkx3.1. The PC3 cells stably transfected with vector pcDNA3.1 were set as a control. The expression of Nkx3.1 protein in the cells was confirmed by Western blot analysis. The effect of Nkx3.1 on cell proliferation of PC3 cells was examined with MTT assay. The antiproliferative and apoptotic effects of 17β-estradiol alone or in combination with Nkx3.1 were estimated on PC3 cells by using MTT growth tests and flow cytometric analyses. The expression of apoptosis-related proteins was analyzed using Western blotting. Results： The plasmid carrying Nkx3.1 gene induced high expression of Nkx3.1 protein in PC3 cells. The re-expression of exogenous Nkx3.1 did not cause a significant reduction in cellular proliferation, whereas the expression of Nkx3.1 enhanced the 17β-estradiol anti-proliferative effect in PC3 cells. Nkx3.1 expres- sion promoted 17β-estradiol-induced apoptosis of PC3 cells, as shown by analysis of Bcl-2, Bax, Caspase-3 and poly （ADP-ribose） polymerase expression. Conclusion： The present study demonstrates that re-expression of Nkx3.1 enhances 17β-estradiol anti-tumor action in PC3 human prostate cancer cells. The in vitro study suggests that re- expression of Nkx3.1 is worthy of further consideration as an adjuvant treatment of androgen independent prostate cancer with estrogen anti-tumor therapies.

Zinc-air batteries provide a great potential for future large-scale energy storage.We assess the test factors that mainly affect the measured power density of the zinc-air battery.By fitting the polarization curves of the zinc-air batteries,we reveal the effect of testing parameters(electrode distance,electrolyte concentration,and oxygen flux)and preparation of catalysts ink on the activation,ohm,and concentration polarizations of the zinc-air battery.Finally,recommendations on evaluating the potentials of non-noblemetal electrocatalysts for applications in zinc-air batteries were given.

Retroperitoneal vs transperitoneal laparoscopic lithotripsy of 20-40 mm renal stones within horseshoe kidneys

BACKGROUND Horseshoe kidney(HK)with renal stones is challenging for urologists.Although both retroperitoneal and transperitoneal laparoscopic approaches have been reported in some case reports,the therapeutic outcome of retroperitoneal compared with transperitoneal laparoscopic lithotripsy is unknown.AIM To assess the efficacy of laparoscopic lithotripsy for renal stones in patients with HK.METHODS This was a retrospective study of 12 patients with HK and a limited number(n≤3)of 20-40 mm renal stones treated with either retroperitoneal or transperitoneal laparoscopic lithotripsy(June 2012 to may 2019).The perioperative data of both groups were compared including operation time,estimated blood loss,postoperative fasting time,perioperative complications and stone-free rate(SFR).RESULTS No significant difference was observed for age,gender,preoperative symptoms,body mass index,preoperative infection,hydronephrosis degree,largest stone diameter,stone number and isthmus thickness.The mean postoperative fasting time of the patients in the retroperitoneal group and the transperitoneal group was 1.29±0.49 and 2.40±0.89 d,respectively(P=0.019).There was no significant difference in operation time(194.29±102.48 min vs 151.40±39.54 min,P=0.399),estimated blood loss(48.57±31.85 m L vs 72.00±41.47 m L,P=0.292)and length of hospital stay(12.14±2.61 d vs 12.40±3.21 d,P=0.881)between the retroperitoneal and transperitoneal groups.All patients in both groups had a complete SFR and postoperative renal function was within the normal range.The change in estimated glomerular filtration rate(e GFR)from the preoperative stage to postoperative day 1 in the retroperitoneal group and the transperitoneal group was-3.86±0.69 and-2.20±2.17 m L/(min·1.73 m2),respectively(P=0.176).From the preoperative stage to the 3-mo follow-up,the absolute change in e GFR values for patients in the retroperitoneal group and the transperitoneal group was-3.29±1.11 and-2.40±2.07 m L/(min·1.73 m2),respectively(P=0.581).CONCLUSION Both retroperitoneal and trans

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS)is one of the most significant diseases affecting the pig industry worldwide.The PRRSV mutation rate is the highest among the RNA viruses.To date,NADC30-like PRRSV and highly pathogenic PRRSV(HP-PRRSV)are the dominant epidemic strains in China;however,commercial vaccines do not always provide sufficient cross-protection,and the reasons for insufficient protection are unclear.This study isolated a wild-type NADC30-like PRRSV,SX-YL1806,from Shaanxi Province.Vaccination challenge experiments in piglets showed that commercial modified live virus(MLV)vaccines provided good protection against HP-PRRSV.However,it could not provide sufficient protection against the novel strain SXYL1806.To explore the reasons for this phenomenon,we compared the genomic homology between the MLV strain and HP-PRRSV or NADC30-like PRRSV and found that the MLV strain had a lower genome similarity with NADC30-like PRRSV.Serum neutralization assay showed that MLV-immune serum slightly promoted the homologous HP-PRRSV replication and significantly promoted the heterologous NADC30-like PRRSV strain replication in vitro,suggesting that antibody-dependent enhancement(ADE)might also play a role in decreasing MLV protective efficacy.These findings expand our understanding of the potential factors affecting the protective effect of PRRSV MLV vaccines against the NADC30-like strains.

Small ubiquitin-like modifiers (SUMOs) have been shown to regulate axonal regeneration, signal transduction, neuronal migration, and myelination, by covalently and reversibly attaching to the protein substrates during neuronal cell growth, development, and differentiation. It has not been reported whether SUMOs play a role in peripheral nerve injury and regeneration. To investigate any association between SUMOylation and potential neuroprotective effects during peripheral nerve injury and regeneration, C57/BL mice were randomly divided into sham and experimental groups. The sciatic nerve was exposed only in the sham group. The experimental group underwent neurotomy and epineurial neurorrhaphy. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blot assay results revealed different mRNA and protein expression levels of SUMO1, SUMO2, SUM03 and UBC9 in sciatic nerve tissue (containing both 5 mm of proximal and distal stumps at the injury site) at various time points after injury. Compared with the sham group, protein levels of SUM01 and SUMO2/3 increased in both their covalent and free states after sciatic nerve injury in the experimental group, especially in the covalent state. UBC9 protein levels showed similar changes to those of SUMO1 and SUMO2/3 in the covalent states. Immunohistochemical staining demonstrated that SUMO1 and SUMO2/3 immunopositivities were higher in the experimental group than in the sham group. Our results verified that during the repair of sciatic nerve injury, the mRNA and protein expression of SUMO1, SUMO2, SUMO3 and UBC9 in injured nerve tissues changed in varying patterns and there were clear changes in the expression of SUMO-related proteins. These findings reveal that SUMOs possibly play an important role in the repair of peripheral nerve injury. All animal protocols were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of Tianjin Fifth Central Hospital, China (approval No. TJWZXLL2018041) on November & 2018.

目的优化茶味山核桃加工工艺,研究茶多酚涂膜保鲜方法。方法采用单因素和正交实验设计结合感官评价方法,优化投茶量、热浸时间和两段式烘烤时间3个关键加工条件;采用加速破坏实验结合Q10法预测茶味山核桃的保质期。结果绿茶、红茶、白茶、乌龙茶4类茶味山核桃的最佳工艺分别为:①绿茶投茶量40 g、热浸时间1.5 h、两段烘烤时间组合为22 min+44 min;②红茶投茶量30 g、热浸时间1.5 h、两段烘烤时间组合为22 min+44 min;③白茶投茶量40 g、热浸时间1.0 h、两段烘烤时间组合为22 min+44 min;④乌龙茶投茶量40 g、热浸时间1.0 h、两段烘烤时间组合为22 min+44 min,经验证后感官评分均在89分以上。在60℃、相对湿度80%条件下,经0.05%和0.1%茶多酚涂膜后货架期分别延长了3 d和5 d,经Q10法预测25℃和10℃下经0.1%茶多酚涂膜处理的绿茶味山核桃的货架期分为达到305 d和9775 d,比未经涂膜的山核桃延长了57 d和1811 d。结论本研究优化所得茶味山核桃工艺合理可行,茶多酚涂膜可有效延长茶味山核桃货架期,本研究为解决当前大宗茶产能过剩、山核桃风味单调问题提供思路,为山核桃品质控制提供理论依据,有助于提高茶叶和山核桃两大特色资源增值利用。
