The author reviews some recent developments in Chern-Simons theory on a hyperbolic 3-manifold M with complex gauge group g. The author focuses on the case of g = SL(N, C) and M being a knot complement: M = S^3\ K. The main result presented in this note is the cluster partition function, a computational tool that uses cluster alg.b.a techniques to evaluate the Chern-Simons path integral for g = SL(N, C). He also reviews various applications and open questions regarding the cluster partition function and some of its relation with string theory.

The authors describe the relationships between categories of b-branes in dif- ferent phases of the non-Abelian gauged linear sigma model. The relationship is described explicitly for the model proposed by Hori and Tong with non-Abelian gauge group that connects two non-birational Calabi-Yau varieties studied by Rcdland. A grade restriction rule for this model is derived using the hemisphere partition function and it is used to map b-type D-branes between the two Calabi-Yau varieties.

Dengue is a global health problem without current specific treatment nor safe vaccines *** severe dengue is related to pre-existing non-neutralizing dengue virus(DENV)antibodies,the role of T cells in protection or pathology is *** cutaneous DENV infection in immunocompetent mice we previously showed the generation of PNA+germinal centers(gCs),now we assessed the activation and proliferation of b and T cells in draining lymph nodes(DLNs).We found a drastic remodelling of DLN compartments from 7 to 14 days post-infection(dpi)with greatly enlarged b cell follicles,occupying almost half of the DLN area compared to*24%in na?ve *** clusters of proliferating(Ki-67+)cells inside b follicles were found 14 dpi,representing*33%of b cells in DLNs but only*2%in noninfected *** gCs,we noticed an important recruitment of tingle body macrophages removing apoptotic *** contrast,the percentage of paracortex area and total T cells decreased by 14–16 dpi,compared to *** randomly distributed Ki-67+T cells were found,similar to non-infected ***69 expression by CD4+and CD8+T cells was minor,while it was remarkable in b cells,representing 1764.7%of change from basal levels 3 *** apparent lack of T cell responses cannot be attributed to apoptosis since no significant differences were observed compared to noninfected *** study shows massive b cell activation and proliferation in DLNs upon DENV *** contrast,we found very poor,almost absent CD4+and CD8+T cell responses.

Mortality at 9 years in alcohol-dependence: The respective roles of alcohol, tobacco, and vulnerability genes

Aims: Different vulnerability genes have been proposed in alcohol dependence, but replications are sparse, probably due to 1) phenotypical heterogeneity and 2) difficulties to rely on reliable definition of the correct phenotype. Indeed, specific subgroups of patients may be more directly concerned with some vulnerability genes, the actions of these genes being more directly related to their function. We postulated that three potential vulnerability genes, that were at least twice associated with alcohol dependence, influence the extreme of the severity of alcohol dependence, i.e. mortality, through traits with which they were previously associated, namely impulsivity and antisocial personality disorder and the 5-HT1b gene, suicide attempt and the short allele of 5-HTTLPR, and addictive disorder comorbidity and the DRD2 gene. Methods: We analysed the survival status of a male alcohol-dependent sample (n = 126) recruited 9 years before, and could compare 61 surviving patients to 41 patients who died during this period (representing 81.0% of the initial sample). Results: The main clinical characteristic that was associated with an increased mortality rate was a larger cumulative tobacco use (pack-years). We also found that the C allele of the 5-HT1b was the only one in excess in the non-surviving patients. Contrary to our hypothesis, impulsivity and antisocial personality disorder were not explaining the role of this gene. Conclusions: Even if there is a significant involvement of the 5- HT1b C allele, no intermediate phenotype was detected in our sample. The relatively short delay of 9 years and the somewhat old age at baseline of our patients could have limited the influence of psychiatric comorbidity or the specificities of alcohol dependence, explaining why the only detected co-factor was tobacco consumption. Provisional prosthetic restoration materials are exposed to oral cavity producing on the surface biofilm where different factors such as surface roughness and porosity can condition their formation and organization and can create stagnation areas that promote the bonding of organic particles, thus facilitating the formation and maturation of the biofilm. The purpose of this study was to compare surface roughness of two provisional prosthetic restorations materials and their bacterial susceptibility. In this study, two provisional restoration materials were used in two groups, A polymethyl methacrylate acrylic (NicTone MDC DENTAL) and b bis-acryl resin (Protemp 4 ESPE 3M). A total of 80 samples (40 samples of each material) were in thick plates of 10 × 10 mm and 2 mm high. 20 samples of each material were polished, while 20 were left unpolished. Subsequently, the samples were observed by Atomic Force Microscopy for their evaluation of surface roughness. The values were analyzed with t-test, Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis test. The samples were microbiologically inoculated with the strains obtained and identified from a provisional polymethyl methacrylate acrylic restoration in a patient, in order to observe bacterial adhesion using a Scanning Electron Microscope. Two strains, Enterococcus faecalis and Pseudomona luteola, were identified. The presence of the microorganisms was observed on the surface of both materials, either polished or unpolished, with a lower level of microorganism adhesion found on the bis-acrylic resin. There was a significant difference about surface roughness in the groups A and b with p -8). We found that the polished bis-acrylic resin showed lower surface roughness and bacterial adhesion in comparison with the polymethyl methacrylate.

The study of fish communities from coastal lagoons allows a better understanding of role of these organisms in these systems, and the effect of anthropogenic impact. The aim of the present study was to determine the community structure, in particular dominance of fish species associated to soft bottoms in the lagoon of La Paz. Six bimonthly samplings were carried out in seven localities from November 2016 to September 2017 and physicochemical parameters were recorded. Analysis of temperature showed differences between two marked seasons, warm and cold. Species richness showed differences between months and localities. Shannon-Weaver index and Pielou’s evenness showed significant differences only between months. Simpson’s index suggests a high diversity. According to the bVI, 15 species from the families Haemulidae, Sciaenidae and gerreidae, were the most biologically important. Zoogeographic affinity analysis showed that 58% of the species prefer the Province of Cortez. Dominant species recorded in this study play a key role in soft-bottom systems like the lagoon of La Paz.
