Effect of process parameter on the flowability of nanocrystalline CoNiCrAlY powder synthesized by mechanical milling

The present study concerns understanding the effect of process parameters on the characteristics and flowability of nanocrystalline CoNiCrAlY powder synthesized by mechanical *** milling has been conducted in a planetary ball mill with tungsten carbide(WC)ball,with ball to powder ratio of 10:1 at 300 rpm speed,using 1%stearic acid and toluene as process control agent(PCA)with time varying from 10 h to 36 *** synthesized nanocrystalline powder were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy,X-ray Diffraction technique,X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy,and Differential Scanning ***,flowability in terms of Hausner ratio was assessed by Tap Density *** particle size of the powder was found to decrease from 33μm to 22μm after 10 h of milling and further increases to 43μm and 38μm after 25 and 36 h of milling,respectively,in stearic acid ***,in toluene medium particle size continuously decreases from 33μm to 9.7μm with increasing milling *** particle morphology changes from spherical to platelet shape at low milling hours in both of the *** 25 h of milling,the shape of the particles is nearly spherical for stearic acid and irregular for toluene used as a *** size was found to decrease with increasing milling time from 147 nm to 7.7 nm and to 6.4 nm in stearic acid and toluene media,*** was presence ofγ,γʹ,β,hcp-Co,Al_(2)O_(3)and AlOOH phases on the powder particles milled in both the *** measured Hausner ratio of the powders was found to vary from 1.18 to 1.32 in stearic acid medium,and was found to increase with increasing milling *** the other hand,in toluene media flowability decreases(Hausner ratio increases from 1.33 to 1.44)with increasing milling time.

This paper studies the time-dependent analysis of an M/M/1 queueing model with single,multiple working vacation,balking and vacation *** the system becomes empty,the server commences working *** the working vacation period,if the queue length reaches a positive threshold value‘k’,the working vacation of the server is interrupted and it immediately starts the service in an exhaustive *** working vacations,the customers become discouraged due to the slow service and possess balking *** transient system size probabilities of the proposed model are derived explicitly using the method of generating function and continued *** performance indices such as average and variance of system size are also ***,numerical simulations are presented to analyze the impact of system parameters.

Easy-to-fabricate high efficiency silicon nanowires solar cell modified by CdTe and zinc tetraphenyl porphyrin nanostructures

Liquid junction solar cell(LJSC) with vertically silicon nanowires(SiNWs) as the primary photosensitizer,co-sensitized with luminescent and narrow gap CdTe nanoparticles,and cuboidal microstructures of zinc tetraphenyl porphyrin(ZnTPP) dye offers broad and intense visible light absorption that translates into a maximum power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 9.09%,when combined with a polymeric gel of a I_(2)/I^(-)redox couple as the hole transport material and a counter electrode(CE) of poly(3,4-ethyelenedioxythio phene) doped with imide ions(PEDOT-N(CF_(3) SO_(2))_(2)),under 1 sun *** p-type CdTe efficiently scavenges holes from SiNWs and simultaneously allows the passage of photoexcited electrons from ZnTPP to SiNWs via electrical conduction thus imparting an enhanced solar cell *** also supresses back electron transfer effectively,as is inferred from a ~68% enhancement in PCE compared to SiNWs *** of the CE entailed the evaluation of the effect of dopant anion:imide versus dicyanamide in PEDOT,and revealed that the presence of macro-cracks in the polymer surface,a deeper work function,and a lower electrical conductance are the shortcomings of the dicyanamide doped PEDOT and reduce the overall PCE,compared to *** study brings out how by judicious choice of photoanode and CE components,efficient,stable and easy-to-assemble LJSCs can be developed.

Development of a new single dose extended release formulation of cefpodoxime proxetil

Objective:To develop floating microspheres of cefpodoxime proxetil(CP) in order to achieve an extended retention in the upper GIT for 12 ***:The microspheres were prepared by non aqueous solvent evaporation method using different ratios of cefpodoxime proxetil, hydroxyl propyl methyl cellulose(HPMC K4M ) and ethyl cellulose(1:1:1,1:1:2,1:1:3,1:1:4, 1:1:5 & 1:1:6),in the mixture of dichloromethane and ethanol at ratio of(l:l),with tween80 as the ***:The floating microspheres was extended over 10-12 hours and were characterized by particle size analysis(75-600μm),buoyancy percentage(68.1%-85.4%), drug entrapment efficiency(67.5%-88.8%),%yield(50.50%-77.31%) and in vitro drug release was studied for 12 ***:The floating microspheres show better result and it may be use full for prolong the drug release in stomach and improve the bioavailability.

Anti-inflammatory activity of Premna corymbosa(Burm.f.) Rottl.& *** extracts in Wistar albino rats

Objective:To evaluate the acute toxicity and to investigate the effect of Premna corymbosa ethanolic extract(PCEE) at doses of 200 and 400 mg /kg body weight in acute and chronic models of inflammation in experimental ***:In the acute toxicity study,a single dose of PCEE of 2 000 mg/kg body weight,*** administered and observed for 48 *** acute models as egg albumin induced paw edema and chronic model as cotton pellet methods was followed. Results:In acute models,egg albumin induced paw edema PCEE significantly(P<0.01) inhibited the edema *** chronic model,cotton pellet induced granuloma formation in rats PCEE significantly(P<0.01) reduced the granuloma formation with percentage inhibition of 35.17%and 50.38%***:The present study establishes the antiinflammatory activity of Premna corymbosa leaves.

Hepatoprotective effect of Premna corymbosa(Burm.f.) Rottl.& *** extract on CCl_4 induced hepatic damage in Wistar albino rats

Objective:To investigate the hepetoprotective activity of Premna corymbosa leaves against carbon tetrachloride(CCl_4) induced hepatic ***:Hepatotoxicity was induced in wistar rats of both sexes by intraperitoneal injection of CCl_4,1 mL/kg body weight for every 72 *** ethanolic extract of Premna corymbosa leaves were administrated at doses of 200 & 400 mL/kg body weight, p.o.,daily for 14 *** hepatotoxicity and its prevention was assessed by serum markers like serum alkaline phosphatase(SALP),serum triglycerides(STG),serum total protein(STP), serum cholesterol(SC),and liver wet weight and histopathological studies of the ***:In treatment with the ethanolic extract,the toxic effect of CCl_4 was controlled significantly(P<0.01) by restoration of the levels of biochemical parameters as compared to normal and standard drug silymarin treated *** liver weight was reduced by the ethanolic extract treated groups. The histopathology of the liver sections evidenced the hepatoprotective ***:The ethanolic extract of the leaves of Premna corymbosa possess significant acute hepatoprotective *** corymbosa can be recommended for the liver disorders.

Objective:The objective of the present study was to develop floating microspheres of Cefpodoxime Proxetil in order to achieve an extended retention in the upper GIT,which may result in enhanced absorption and there by improved ***:The microspheres were prepared by non - aqueous solvent evaporation method using polymers such as Hydroxyl Propyl Methyl Cellulose（HPMC K15M）,Ethyl Cellulose（EC） in different ratios,and Cefpodoxime Proxetil contain in each *** vitro drug release were performed by USP apparatus type I andthe microspheres were characterized by calculating percentage yield,particle size analysis, buoyancy percentage,drug entrapment efficiencyand in vitro drug release ***:The result showed microspheres yield were 50.50%-72.21%,particle size were distributed between75-600μm,drug entrapment efficiency were 14.1%-28.2%,buoyancy percentage were 70.10%-88.25%.Conclusion: Cefpodoxime Proxetil floating microspheres,at the lower polymer to drug ratio,there was a significant drug release. The better drug release profile was seen with FA2 with ratio of drug polymer（1:2）.

Behavioral and endocrine responses to noninteractive live and video conspecifics in males of the Siamese fighting fish

The physiological mechanisms underlying variation in aggression in fish remain poorly *** possibly confounding variable is the lack of standardization in the type of stimuli used to elicit *** presentation of controlled stimuli in videos,*** playback,can provide better control of the fight ***,this technique has produced conflicting results in animal behavior studies and needs to be carefully *** this,a similar response to the video and an equivalent live stimulus needs to be ***,different physiological responses may be triggered by live and video stimuli,and it is important to demonstrate that video images elicit appropriate physiological ***,the behavioral and endocrine responses of male Siamese fighting fish Betta splendens to a matched-for-size conspecific fighting behind a one-way mirror,presented live or through video playback,were *** video playback and live stimulus elicited a strong and similar aggressive response by the focal fish,with a fight structure that started with stereotypical threat displays and progressed to overt *** plasma levels of the androgen 11-ketotestosterone were elevated as compared to controls,regardless of the type of *** also increased in response to the video images,as previously described for live fights in this *** results show that the interactive component of a fight and its resolution are not needed to trigger an endocrine response to aggression in this *** study also demonstrates for the first time in a fish a robust endocrine response to video stimuli and supports the use of this technique for researching aggressive behavior in ***.
