Hyaluronidase in sub-Tenon's anesthesia for phacoemulsification,a double-blind randomized clinical trial

AIM:To investigate the effect of hyaluronidase use on the quality of sub-Tenon's anaesthesia for phacoemulsification.· METHODS:This was a randomized,double-blind clinical trial which was conducted at Nikookari Eye Hospital for 5 ***-two eyes of candidates for phacoemulsification under sub-Tenon's anaesthesia were randomly allocated to two equal groups and received either 2 mL of lidocaine 2% solution with(LH),or without(L) addition of hyaluronidase(150IU/mL).Akinesia was assessed 15 minutes after sub-Tenon's *** and surgeon's satisfaction,as well as the postoperative pain(the visual analogue scale,VAS) were investigated after *** contingency tables(including the Chi-square or Fisher's exact tests,when appropriate) and parametric analysis(the independent samples t test) were used for statistical analysis.· RESULTS:Complete akinesia(33.3% vs 4.8%,P =0.04),as well as the patients(85.7% vs 57.1%,P =0.04)and surgeon's satisfaction(87.5% vs 52.4%,P =0.02) were significantly more frequent in LH than in L *** mean VAS was significantly lower in the same group(1.90±1.45 vs 3.00±1.55,P =0.04).· CONCLUSION:Addition of hyaluronidase to lidocaine solution for sub-Tenon's anesthesia significantly improves the ocular akinesia,enhances the intra-operative patients and surgeons' satisfaction,and attenuates the postoperative pain.·

Islam and International Relations: Ontological Perspective

Studied on the relation between the Islam and the IR up now mentioned them from one side to side;the world divide into two or more sections from the Islamic view and introducing the Islam as a new challenge of the world in the IR surveying’s. Knowing the better understanding needs what entity to be taken of the Islam ontologically. Four entities of the Islam are discussed here: Islam as religion, Islam as ideology (Islamic Fundamentalism), Islam as identity, and Islam as international ethics. Main theme of the paper is to delineate the latter as the best entity that compromised it to International Relations (IR) course.

Objective: To determine spatial distribution of sand flies(Diptera: Psychodidae; Larroussius group), the vectors of visceral leishmaniasis in Ardabil province, Northwest of ***: Sand flies were collected using sticky traps from the 30 selected points in Ardabil province, during May-November *** MaxEnt model in GIS software was used for ***: A total of 2 794 specimens of sand flies were collected, of which 33% were Larroussius subgenus sand *** kandelakii and Phlebotomus wenyoni were the highest and lowest collected species *** on the modeling, four areas in the province were identified with more than 70% probability of the presence of Larroussius group vectors which were at risk of visceral leishmaniasis disease ***: The distribution of Larroussius subgenus sand flies was observed in all parts of *** the northern parts of the province(Germi and Bilesavar counties) as well as central part(Ardabil and Meshkinshahr counties) were of great importance in terms of the presence of Larroussius subgenus sand flies and the possibility of transmission of the visceral leishmaniasis.

The security dilemma is a common problem faced with the states in the ongoing anarchic international *** does matter in the Middle East like the other ones and also has its impact on the arms races in the region *** there are some characters named as the order and change predicaments such as the colonial background,weak infrastructure of state construction,and the identity politics embedded in the region that do convert the current complex security dilemma into a complicated *** only does it have effect on the regional order,the arm race and disarmament,and also offense/defense paradox,but also does it get on the violent bandwagon in the *** of the both dilemmas did lead the region into the domestic environment change alongside of regional disorder ***-neutral involving the trans-regional powers into the(in)security situation in the region not only did not mitigate the situation but also volatile it *** conclusion the paper does strive to introduce three phrased manners for transition of the complicated security dilemma.

Iran supports a great share of exotic and/or endemic plant genera and species. The genus Fritillaria(Liliaceae) is a precious part of this botanical richness with 19 species, of which 10 are endemic to the country. However, signs are mounting that the country is truly at a crossroads when it comes to preservation of this national wealth. In this regard, an effective conservation strategy should thoroughly consider the classification of Fritillaria, as conservation practices are compromised by knowledge gaps in systematics and taxonomy. As published studies on Fritillaria in Iran have been sporadic and limited in scope, the aim of this review is to provide information necessary to help bridge these information *** objective is to facilitate increased understanding of the geographic, taxonomic, cytogenetic and phylogenetic status of Iranian Fritilloria, which is vital to meeting the goal of sustainable conservation of the genus in Iran and neighboring areas.

Purpose:Comparison of effective road safety approaches with those of relatively similar countries can be used to identify possibilities for safety *** there is no clear and comprehensive study of countries'current and successful approaches to road safety in the world,the aim of this study was to identifying common road safety approaches in the ***:This study was performed using scoping review and thematic *** study followed the approach proposed by Arksey and O'*** this study all articles were selected without time limit by searching in the following databases:Web of Science,PubMed,Scopus,ProQuest,and *** initial search of 5612 papers was found and finally,20 papers met the inclusion criteria and were ***:There were different road safety approaches in different countries around the world,which were classified in three themes:traditional approach,systemic approach,and vision *** traditional approach includes the sub-theme of the road-user approach,and the causal *** systemic approach also includes sub-themes of sustainable safety,safety system,and the United Nations plan for decade of action,Conclusion:A systemic approach to road safety seems to be welcomed by most developed and developing countries,and a paradigm shift towards a safe system has taken ***,given the successful results of implementing vision zero in leading countries,most countries are trying to design and implement this ***,the choice and implementation of road safety approaches varies according to the principles,priorities and infrastructure of each country.

Dependence of Laser Ablation Produced Gold Nanoparticles Characteristics on the Fluence of Laser Pulse

Effect of laser fluence on the characteristics of gold nanoparticles (NPs) produced by laser ablation method is investigated experimentally. Five samples of gold NPs were synthesized by nanosecond pulsed laser ablation of a high purity gold plate in distilled water at five different fluences in the range of 1-3 J/cm2. Results show that in this experimental condition gold NPs are produced by nucleation of Au atoms in the plasma, generated on the target surface during the ablation process. There is threshold fluence at which absorption of laser energy by water rises significantly. Absorption of the laser energy by water leads to increase oxygen atoms in the ablation medium and formation of gold oxide NPs. By increasing the laser fluence below the threshold, size of produced NPs decreases while by increasing the laser fluence above the threshold size of produced NPs increases.

Injury surveillance information system: A review of the system requirements

Purpose: An injury surveillance information system (ISIS) collects, analyzes, and distributes data on injuries to promote health care delivery. The present study aimed to review the data elements and functional requirements of this ***: This study was conducted in 2019. Studies related to injury surveillance system were searched from January 2000 to September 2019 via the databases of PubMed, Web of Knowledge, ScienceDirect, and Scopus. Articles related to the epidemiology of injury, population survey, and letters to the editor were excluded, while the review and research articles related to ISISs were included in the study. Initially 324 articles were identified, and finally 22 studies were selected for review. Having reviewed the articles, the data needed were extracted and the results were synthesized ***: The results showed that most of the systems reviewed in this study used the minimum data set suggested by the World Health Organization injury surveillance guidelines along with supplementary data. The main functions considered for the system were injury track, data analysis, report, data linkage, electronic monitoring and data ***: ISISs can help to improve healthcare planning and injury prevention. Since different countries have various technical and organizational infrastructures, it is essential to identify system requirements in different settings.
