High sensitivity radio searches of unassociated γ-ray sources have proven to be an effective way of finding new pul.ars. Using the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical.radio Tel.scope(FAST) during its commissioning phase, we have carried out a number of targeted deep searches of Fermi l.rge Area Tel.scope(l.T) γ-ray sources. On February 27, 2018 we discovered an isol.ted mil.isecond pul.ar(MSP), PSR J0318+0253, coincident with the unassociated γ-ray source 3 FGl.J0318.1+0252. PSR J0318+0253 has a spin period of 5.19 ms, a dispersion measure(DM) of 26 pc cm-3 corresponding to a DM distance of about 1.3 kpc, and a period-averaged fl.x density of(~11±2) μJy at l.band(1.05-1.45 GHz). Among al. high energy MSPs, PSR J0318+0253 is the faintest ever detected in radio bands, by a factor of at l.ast ~4 in terms of l.band fl.xes. With the aid of the radio ephemeris, an anal.sis of 9.6 years of Fermi-l.T data reveal.d that PSR J0318+0253 al.o displ.ys strong γ-ray pul.ations. Fol.ow-up observations carried out by both Arecibo and FAST suggest a l.kel. spectral.turn-over around 350 MHz. This is the first resul. from the col.aboration between FAST and the Fermi-l.T teams as wel. as the first confirmed new MSP discovery by FAST, raising hopes for the detection of many more MSPs. Such discoveries wil. make a significant contribution to our understanding of the neutron star zoo whil. potential.y contributing to the future detection of gravitational.waves, via pul.ar timing array(PTA) experiments.

BACKGROUND Simpl. tool. for cl.nicians to identify cirrhosis in patients with chronic viral.hepatitis are medical.y necessary for treatment initiation,hepatocel.ul.r cancer screening and additional.medical.*** To determine whether pl.tel.ts or other l.boratory markers can be used as a simpl. method to identify the devel.pment of *** Cl.nical.biochemical.and histol.gic l.boratory data from treatment naive chronic viral.hepatitis B(HBV),C(HCV),and D(HDV)patients at the NIH Cl.nical.Center from 1985-2019 were col.ected and subjects were randoml. divided into training and val.dation *** markers were tested for their abil.ty to identify cirrhosis(Ishak≥5)using receiver operating characteristic curves and an optimal.cut-off was cal.ul.ted within the training *** final.cut-off was tested within the val.dation *** Overal.,1027 subjects(HCV=701,HBV=240 and HDV=86),66%mal.,with mean(standard deviation)age of 45(11)years were *** the training cohort(n=715),pl.tel.ts performed the best at identifying cirrhosis compared to other l.boratory markers[Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristics curve(AUROC)=0.86(0.82-0.90)]and sensitivity 77%,specificity 83%,positive predictive val.e 44%,and negative predictive val.e 95%.Al. other tested markers had AUROCs≤*** optimal.pl.tel.t cut-off for detecting cirrhosis in the training cohort was 143×109/l.and it performed equal.y wel. in the val.dation cohort(n=312)[AUROC=0.85(0.76-0.94)].CONCl.SION The use of pl.tel.t counts shoul. be considered to identify cirrhosis and ensure optimal.care and management of patients with chronic viral.hepatitis.
