＜正＞The Canadian Space Agency is developing loop heat pipe hardware aimed at understanding the thermal performance of two-phase heat transfer devices and in developing numerical simulation techniques using thermo- hydraulic mathematical models,to enable development of novel thermal control *** loop heat pipe consists of a cylindrical evaporator,compensation chamber,condenser along with vapor and liquid lines,which can be easily assembled/disassembled for test *** laboratory setup is especially designed to enable the visualization of fluid flow and phase change *** are transparent windows in the compensation chamber and u-ansparent lines for vapor line,liquid returning line,and sections of condenser that enable the monitoring of the fluid phase and flowing characteristics along the *** setup demonstrated typical loop heat pipe *** working fluids（water, acetone and methanol）were used in the characterization of the loop heat *** observations have been made at the compensation chamber,vapor line,liquid line,and the condenser.

Associated Factors with Early Sexual Intercourse among In-School Adolescents in Brazzaville

Background: Early sexual intercourse (ESI) is a global public health problem. In Congo, associated factors with ESI have been under-studied. Objective: To analyse factors associated with early sexual intercourse among in-school adolescents in Brazzaville. Method: A cross-sectional analytic study with three-stage random sampling was carried out from March 2 to June 2, 2022 in Brazzaville secondary and high schools. Adolescents in the selected schools were interviewed about their sexual and social behaviour, and their family and school environment. Multivariate analysis using logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with ESI. The significance level of the p-value was set at 5% and the confidence interval at 95%. Results: Of a total of 1100 adolescents surveyed, 800 (72.7%) had ESI, 98% of them were female. The main reason for early initiation of sexual intercourse was curiosity (81.8%). Non-use of condoms and multiple sexual partnerships were noted respectively in 98.7% and 68.7% of adolescents who had experienced ESI. Female gender (p Conclusion: The prevalence of ESI is high, and the factors identified in this study may help to reduce it.

Alcoholic liver disease(ALD) is the second commonest indication for liver transplantation after viral hepatitis in the United States and *** surround the indications and allocation of scarce and expensive resource for this so called self inflicted *** stem from the apprehension that alcoholic recipients are likely to relapse and cause damage to the *** is a need to select those candidates with lower risk for relapse with the available predictive factors and *** abuse specialist and psychiatrists are mandatory in the pre-transplant evaluation and in the post-transplant *** is conflicting evidence to support a fixed period of pretransplant abstinence,although most units do follow *** hepatitis(AH) continues to be a contraindication for transplantation,however there is a need for further research in this f ield as a subset of patients with AH who do not respond to medical treatment,have high early mortality and could benefit from *** year,3-year,and 5-year survival post-transplant is similar for both ALD and non-ALD *** incidence of post-transplant rejection and retransplantation is also similar to other *** with viral hepatitis especially hepatitis C virus leads to a more aggressive liver disease with early presentation for *** patients are more prone to develop de-novo malignancy;this is attributed to the long term effect of alcohol,tobacco combined with ***-transplant surveillance is important to detect early relapse to alcoholism,presence of de-novo malignancy and treat the same adequately.

The geologic framework is an important factor worth consideration when analyzing the development of seacoasts. The different coastal responses to hydrometeorological and anthropogenic factors depend on the composition and amount of original coast-forming sediments. The impact of sediment composition on morphometric parameters is best observed in areas where sand unrepresentative of the adjacent coastal sectors appears on beaches with a relatively uniform lithological composition. These areas are referred to as lithological anomalies. Large amounts of coarse-grained sand, uncharacteristic of the adjacent coastal sectors of the Curonian spit, accumulated in the area of the strait that existed in the Post-Littorina Late Subboreal(3.7-2.5 ka BP) time south of the Juodkrante settlement. Due to accumulation of coarse sand, the beach in this sector is narrow and has a higher slope, and the ridge is lower and with a smaller volume of sand than in the adjacent coastal sectors. The specific sand composition and morphology of this coastal sector are responsible for different coastal dynamics during storms. During extreme storms, beach erosion in this coastal sector is minimal(sometimes even accretion takes place)compared with other sectors where beach erosion is rather substantial. Meanwhile, during periods of relatively calm weather, i.e. times of expected regeneration of the cross profile, this sector stands out for active erosion processes.

For guiding light on a chip,it has been pivotal to use materials and process flows that allow low absorption and *** on subwavelength gratings,here,we show that it is possible to create broadband,multimode waveguides with very low propagation losses despite using a strongly absorbing *** perform rigorous coupled-wave analysis and finite-difference time-domain simulations of integrated waveguides that consist of pairs of integrated high-index-contrast *** showcase this concept,we demonstrate guiding of visible light in the wavelength range of 550-650 nm with losses down to 6dB/cm using silicon gratings that have a material absorption of 13,000 dB/cm at this wavelength and are fabricated with standard silicon photonics *** approach allows us to overcome traditional limits of the various established photonics technology platforms with respect to their suitable spectral range and,furthermore,to mitigate situations where absorbing materials,such as highly doped semiconductors,cannot be avoided because of the need for electrical driving,for example,for amplifiers,lasers and modulators.
