Microstructures and Mechanical Properties of a Newly Developed Austenitic Heat Resistant Steel

The effect of heat treatment on the microstructures and mechanical properties of a newly developed austenitic heat resistant steel(named as T8 alloy) for ultra-supercritical applications have been studied. Results show that the main phases in the alloy after solution treatment are γ and primary MX. Subsequent aging treatment causes the precipitation of M_(23)C_6 carbides along the grain boundaries and a small number of nanoscale MX inside the grains. In addition, with increasing the aging temperature and time, the morphology of M_(23)C_6 carbides changes from semi-continuous chain to continuous network.Compared with a commercial HR3C alloy, T8 alloy has comparable tensile strength, but higher stress rupture strength. The dominant cracking mechanism of the alloy during tensile test at room temperature is transgranular, while at high temperature, intergranular cracking becomes the main cracking mode, which may be caused by the precipitation of continuous M_(23)C_6 carbides along the grain boundaries. Typical intergranular cracking is the dominant cracking mode of the alloy at all stress rupture tests.

Phenylacetylglutamine(PAGln)is an amino acid derivate that comes from the amino acid phenylalanine.There are increasing studies showing that the level of PAGln is associated with the risk of different cardiovascular diseases.In this review,we discussed the metabolic pathway of PAGln production and the quantitative measurement methods of PAGln.We summarized the epidemiological evidence to show the role of PAGln in diagnostic and prognostic value in several cardiovascular diseases,such as heart failure,coronary heart disease/atherosclerosis,and cardiac arrhythmia.The underlying mechanism of PAGln is now considered to be related to the thrombotic potential of platelets via adrenergic receptors.Besides,other possible mechanisms such as inflammatory response and oxidative stress could also be induced by PAGln.Moreover,since PAGln is produced across different organs including the intestine,liver,and kidney,the cross-talk among multiple organs focused on the function of this uremic toxic metabolite.Finally,the prognostic value of PAGln compared to the classical biomarker was discussed and we also highlighted important gaps in knowledge and areas requiring future investigation of PAGln in cardiovascular diseases.

BACKGROUND Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the most common types of tumors.The influence of lipid metabolism disruption on the development of HCC has been demonstrated in published studies.AIM To establish an HCC prognostic model for lipid metabolism-related long non-coding RNAs(LMR-lncRNAs)and conduct in-depth research on the specific role of novel LMR-lncRNAs in HCC.METHODS Correlation and differential expression analyses of The Cancer Genome Atlas data were used to identify differentially expressed LMR-lncRNAs.Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis was used to evaluate the expression of LMR-lncRNAs.Nile red staining was employed to observe intracellular lipid levels.The interaction between RP11-817I4.1,miR-3120-3p,and ATP citrate lyase(ACLY)was validated through the performance of dual-luciferase reporter gene and RIP assays.RESULTS Three LMR-lncRNAs(negative regulator of antiviral response,RNA transmembrane and coiled-coil domain family 1 antisense RNA 1,and RP11-817I4.1)were identified as predictive markers for HCC patients and were utilized in the construction of risk models.Additionally,proliferation,migration,and invasion were reduced by RP11-817I4.1 knockdown.An increase in lipid levels in HCC cells was significantly induced by RP11-817I4.1 through the miR-3120-3p/ACLY axis.CONCLUSION LMR-lncRNAs have the capacity to predict the clinical characteristics and prognoses of HCC patients,and the discovery of a novel LMR-lncRNAs,RP11-817I4.1,revealed its role in promoting lipid accumulation,thereby accelerating the onset and progression of HCC.

Atomic and close-to-atom scale manufacturing is a promising avenue toward single-photon emitters,single-electron transistors,single-atom memory,and quantum-bit devices for future communication,computation,and sensing applications.Laser manufacturing is outstanding to this end for ease of beam manipulation,batch production,and no requirement for photomasks.It is,however,suffering from optical diffraction limits.Herein,we report a spatial resolution improved to the quantum limit by exploiting a threshold tracing and lock-in method,whereby the two-order gap between atomic point defect complexes and optical diffraction limit is surpassed,and a feature size of<5 nm is realized.The underlying physics is that the uncertainty of local atom thermal motion dominates electron excitation,rather than the power density slope of the incident laser.We show that the colour centre yield in hexagonal boron nitride is transformed from stochastic to deterministic,and the emission from individual sites becomes polychromatic to monochromatic.As a result,single colour centres in the regular array are deterministically created with a unity yield and high positional accuracy,serving as a step forward for integrated quantum technological applications.

Macrophage senescence,manifested by the special form of durable cell cycle arrest and chronic low-grade inflammation like senescence-associated secretory phenotype,has long been consid-ered harmful.Persistent senescence of macrophages may lead to maladaptation,immune dysfunction,and finally the development of age-related diseases,infections,autoimmune diseases,and malignancies.However,it is a ubiquitous,multi-factorial,and dynamic complex phenomenon that also plays roles in remodeled processes,including wound repair and embryogenesis.In this review,we summarize some general molecular changes and several specific biomarkers during macrophage senescence,which may bring new sight to recognize senescent macrophages in different conditions.Also,we take an in-depth look at the functional changes in senescent macrophages,including metabolism,autophagy,polarization,phagocytosis,antigen presentation,and infiltration or recruitment.Furthermore,some degenerations and diseases associated with senescent macrophages as well as the mechanisms or relevant genetic regulations of senescent macrophages are integrated,not only emphasizing the possibility of regulating macrophage senescence to benefit age-associated diseases but also has an implication on the finding of potential tar-gets ordrugs clinically.

Bistate plates have found extensive applications in the domains of smart structures and energy harvesting devices.Most bistable curved plates are characterized by a constant thickness profile.Regrettably,due to the inherent complexity of this problem,relatively little attention has been devoted to this area.In this study,we demonstrate how deep learning can facilitate the discovery of novel plate profiles that cater to multiple objectives,including maximizing stiffness,forward snapping force,and backward snapping force.Our proposed approach is distinguished by its efficiency in terms of low computational energy consumption and high effectiveness.It holds promise for future applications in the design and optimization of multistable structures with diverse objectives,addressing the requirements of various fields.

Mainstream partial nitritation-anammox(PNA)process easily suffers from performance instability and even reactor collapse in application.Thus,it is of great significance to unveil the characteristic of performance recovery,understand the intrinsic mechanism and then propose operational strategy.In this study,we combined long-term reactor operation,batch tests,and metagenomics to reveal the succession of microbial community and functional metabolism variation from system collapse to recovery.Proper aeration control(0.10-0.25mg O_(2)/L)was critical for performance recovery.It was also found that Candidatus Brocadia became the dominant flora and its abundance increased from 3.5%to 11.0%.Significant enhancements in carbon metabolism and phospholipid biosynthesis were observed during system recovery,and the genes abundance related to signal transduction was dramatically increased.The up-regulation of sdh and suc genes showed the processes of succinate dehydrogenation and succinyl-CoA synthesis might stimulate the production of amino acids and the synthesis of proteins,thereby possibly improving the activity and abundance of AnAOB,which was conducive to the performance recovery.Moreover,the increase in abundance of hzs and hdh genes suggested the enhancement of the anammox process.Changes in the abundance of key genes involved in nitrogen metabolism indicated that nitrogen removal pathway was more diverse after system recovery.The achievement of performance recovery was driven by anammox,nitrification and denitrification coupled with dissimilatory nitrate reduction to ammonium.These results provide deeper insights into the recovery mechanism of PNA system and also provide a potential regulation strategy for the stable operation of the mainstream PNA process.
