The s.atial pattern dis.ribution of plant hormones.in res.ons. to aluminum (Al) toxicity in roots.remains.to be s.own. This.s.udy was.performed to as.es. the root hormonal accumulation and g.ne expres.ion in res.ons. to Al toxicity in five trans.enic miniature dwarf tomatoes.cv. Micro-Tom (MT). MT and MT trans.enics.to acid indole acetic, cytokinin, g.bberellin, abs.is.c acid and ethylene were cultivated in nutrient s.lutions.containing.different Al concentrations. Root g.owth elong.tion was.meas.red and cellular damag. was.vis.alized by s.aining.Evans.s.blue. The g.s.reporter g.ne s.aining.technique was.us.d to vis.alize hormonal chang.s.in MT apex root tis.ues. Data indicated that the MT is.s.ns.tive to Al that induced s.g.ificant g.owth inhibition and cellular damag.. Al concentration of 27 μM was.s.g.ificantly toxic, inducing.root apex darkening.and inhibition of root development. The qualitative evaluation of g.s.reporter g.ne expres.ion s.owed intens. cros.talk among.all hormones.s.udied, unders.oring.the complexity of s.g.aling.induced by Al in apex roots. Res.lts.point out to a major unders.anding.of the hormonal s.g.aling.in res.ons. to Al toxicity, which may induce a chang. of root g.owth and architecture with g.owth inhibition and cell cons.raints.modulated by all different hormones.evaluated.

Oral cancer (OC) is.the mos. common form of head and neck cancer. Des.ite the hig. incidence and unfavourable patient outcomes. currently, there are no biomarkers.for the early detection of OC. Identified miRNAs.were validated in s.liva s.mples.of OC (n=50), OPMD (n=52), and controls.n=60) us.ng.quantitative real-time PCR. Eig.t differentially expres.ed miRNAs.(miR-7-5p, miR-10b-5p, miR-182-5p, miR-215-5p,miR-431-5p, miR-486-3p, miR-3614-5p, and miR-4707-3p) were identified in the dis.overy phas. and were validated. The efficiency of our eig.t-miRNA s.g.ature to dis.riminate OC and controls.was.area under curve (AUC):0.954, s.ns.tivity:86%, s.ecificity:90%,pos.tive predictive value (PPV):87.8%and neg.tive predictive value (NPV):88.5%whereas.between OC and OPMD was.AUC:0.911,s.ns.tivity:90%, s.ecificity:82.7%, PPV:74.2%and NPV:89.6%. We have developed a ris. probability s.ore to predict the pres.nce or ris. of OC in OPMD patients. We es.ablis.ed a s.livary miRNA s.g.ature that can aid in diag.os.ng.and predicting.OC,revolutionis.ng.the manag.ment of patients.with OPMD. Tog.ther, our res.lts.s.ed new lig.t on the manag.ment of OC by s.livary miRNAs.to the clinical utility of us.ng.miRNAs.derived from s.liva s.mples.
