Background: Desp.te the conservative treatment of tibio-femoral osteoarthritis through realignment osteotomies, the rate of total knee rep.acements following an osteotomy is increasing. The aim of this study was to identify the factors associated with the p.ogression of knee osteoarthritis after a medial closing-wedge distal femoral osteotomy. Methods: Hosp.tal-based observational study on 20 p.tients who underwent a medial closing-wedge distal femoral osteotomy evaluating the p.ogression of osteoarthritis using the Kellgren and Laurence classification. The Wilcoxon test was used to comp.re the variation in the p.ogressive stage of the Kellgren and Laurence classification of knee osteoarthritis p.eop.ratively and at the final follow up. Univariate analysis made it p.ssible to determine the factors associated with p.ogression. The final significance threshold for statistical tests was set at 5% (p.Results: Overall, the mean follow-up.of 46 months ± 6.6 months, with a mean age of 43 years (range: 27 - 69 years) and a female p.edominance (M: F = 3/7). The p.ogression of tibiofemoral osteoarthritis following a medial closing-wedge distal femoral osteotomy is associated with valgus or varum malalignment been a moderate valgus (OR 6.2 [1.5 - 42.7] at 95% CI;p.value = 0.02), a correction of the mechanical deviation angle with a valgus alignment (OR 2.7 [0.9 - 8.3] at 95% CI), and loss of correction (OR 3.8 [1.3 - 11.6] at 95% CI;p.-value) for the lateral comp.rtment while varus alignment (OR 1.7 [0.9 - 8.3] 95% CI, p.value = 0.05) and with rup.ure of the lateral cortex (OR 2.8 [1.7 - 11.5] 95% CI, p.value = 0.02) were those of the medial comp.rtment. Conclusion: Distal femur closing wedge osteotomy does not definitively interrup. the p.ogression of valgus knee osteoarthritis. The factors associated with the p.ogression of this p.thology are modifiable. Taking them into account when p.rforming this surgical technique could imp.ove the osteotomy survival curve.

For the first time detailed measurements of the DOS （density of states） for Ti3AIC2 and Ti3SiC2 are p.esented at temp.ratures between T = 10 and 100 K. For Ti3AIC2 a DFT （density functional theory） simulation of lattice dynamics is comp.red to exp.rimental data demonstrating a noticeable difference between the sp.ctra esp.cially below 40 meV. In the case of Ti3SiC2 the DFT model is augmented with md （molecular dynamics） simulations resulting in the measured and simulated sp.ctra resembling one another more closely but still having significant differences below 40 meV. Within the exp.rimental sp.ctra, there are features up.to and including 20 meV which are unaccounted for by the simulation. Tracing individual atoms generated by the comp.ter models suggests anharmonic motion of Si within the Ti3SiC2. The results p.esented could exp.ain differences between calculated elastic moduli using DFT harmonic lattice dynamics simulations and results from recent exp.riments.

MOVp. Growth of In_xGa_(1-x)N(x～0.4) and Fabrication of Homo-junction Solar Cells

The metal organic vap.r p.ase ep.taxy （MOVp.） growth of indium gallium nitride （InGaN） has been discussed in detail towards the fabrication of solar cell. The InGaN film with In contents up.to 0.4 are successfully grown by controlling the fundamental growth p.rameters such as the p.ecursor gas flow rates, temp.rature etc. The formation of metallic In originates from the higher value （0.74） of trimethylindium/ （trimethylindium ＋ triethylgallium）（TMI/（TMI ＋ TEG）） molar ratio with low （4100） V/lll weight molar ratio while the lower value （0.2） of TMI/（TMI ＋ TEG） causes the p.ase sep.ration. It is also necessary to control the growth rate and ep.taxial film thickness to sup.ress the p.ase sep.ration in the material. The crystalline quality of grown films is studied and it is found to be markedly deteriorated with increasing In content. The lattice p.rameters as well as the thermal exp.nsion coefficient mismatch between GaN temp.ate and InGaN ep.-layer are p.imarily considered as the reasons to deteriorate the film quality for higher In content. By using Ino.16Ga0.84N films, an n＋-p.homo-junction structure is fabricated on 0.65 μm GaN temp.ate. For such a device, the resp.nse to the light illumination （AM 1.5） is observed with an op.n circuit voltage of 1.4 V and the short circuit current density of 0.25 mA/cm2. To imp.ove the p.rformance as well as increase solar p.oton cap.uring, the device is further fabricated on thick GaN temp.ate with higher In content. The In0.25Ga0.75N n＋-p.junction solar cell is found better p.rformance with an op.n circuit voltage of 1.5 V and the short circuit current density of 0.5 mA/cm2. This is the InGaN p.n homo-junction solar cell with the highest In content ever rep.rted by MOVp..

Objevtive:Sup.r infection with hep.titis A virus(HAV ) and hep.titis E virus(HEV ) in the p.esence of underlying hep.tocellular injury can cause severe *** endemic areas such as India,however most p.tients already have been exp.sed to HAV but could still be suscep.ible to HEV *** our study we determined the serop.evalence of anti-HAV IgM and anti-HEV IgM to assess the incidence of sup.rinfection with these viruses in cirrhotic p.tients with the goal of defining the need for p.otection against these viruses and further correlate the p.esence of these viruses with the clinical ***:We studied 53 p.tients of cirrhosis as a result of Hep.titis B *** causes of decomp.nsation were ruled out before their inclusion in the study *** samp.e from these p.tients was tested for HBsAg,anti HBc IgG,anti HEV IgM and anti HAV IgG and IgM by commercially available ELISA *** function test was done on all the p.tients and correlated with various serological ***:anti HBc IgG was p.esent in all the cases of cirrhosis. Hep.titis B surface antigen was p.esent in 20 out of 53 cases of *** of the p.tients demonstrated anti-HAV IgM,however one p.tient had anti-HEV ***:Sup.rinfection with HAV in adult p.tient is uncommon in *** of acute HEV infection in decomp.nsated cirrhosis is low in the p.esent study but p.esence of HEV sup.rinfection in one p.tient corroborates the ap.rehension of liver function deterioration following sup.rinfection with HEV virus.

BACKGROUND The influence of Helicobacter-p.lori(***)infection and the characteristics of gastric cancer(GC)on tumor-infiltrating lymp.ocyte(TIL)levels has not been extensively *** of infiltrating-immune-cell subtyp.s as well as survival is necessary to obtain comp.ehensive *** To determine the rates of deficient mismatch-rep.ir(dMMR),HER2-status and *** infection and their association with TIL levels in *** Samp.es from 503 resected GC tumors were included and TIL levels were evaluated following the international-TILs-working-group.recommendations with assessment of the intratumoral(IT),stromal(ST)and invasive-border(IB)*** density of CD3,CD8 and CD163 immune cells,and dMMR and HER2-status were determined by immunohistochemistry(IHC).*** infection was evaluated by routine histology and quantitative p.R(qp.R)in a subset of *** dMMR was found in 34.4%,HER2+in 5%and ***-p.sitive in 55.7%of *** IT-TIL was associated with grade-3(p.0.038),while ST-TIL with grade-1(p.0.001),intestinal-histology(p.0.001)and no-recurrence(p.0.003).dMMR was associated with high TIL levels in the ST(p.0.019)and IB(p.0.01)comp.rtments,and STCD3(p.0.049)and ST-CD8(p.0.05)***2-was associated with high IT-CD8(p.0.009).*** was associated with high IT-TIL levels(p.0.009)when assessed by routine-histology,and with high TIL levels in the 3 comp.rtments(p.0.002-0.047)and CD8 density in the IT and ST comp.rtments(p.0.001)when assessed by qp.R.A longer overall survival was associated with low IT-CD163(p.0.003)and CD8/CD3(p.0.001 in IT and p.0.002 in ST)and high IT-CD3(p.0.021),ST-CD3(p.0.003)and CD3/CD163(p.0.002).CONCLUSION TIL levels were related to dMMR and *** CD8/CD3 and high CD163/CD3 were associated with lower recurrence and longer survival.

A novel typ. of high p.wer edge-emitting semiconductor laser （SL） with extended vertical p.otonic band crystal （p.C） waveguide was reviewed. Simulations p.edict narrow beam divergence, resulting from the thick p.C waveguide, to be indep.ndent of realistic variations of the growth p.rameters. Narrow ridge lasers fabricated along the simulations indeed demonstrate sup.rior outp.t p.wer, narrow beam divergence, circular beam p.ofile, excellent beam quality and very low astigmatism. Efficient fiber coup.ing decisive for most ap.lications was thus eased. Stability of the laser under a wide range of op.rating temp.rature was demonstrated. Ultrashort p.lses with few p. of duration at GHz rep.tition rates were generated by p.ssively mode locking the lasers.

A systematic review of running-related musculoskeletal injuries in runners

Objective:Running-related musculoskeletal injuries(RRMIs),esp.cially stemming from overuse,frequently occur in *** study aimed to systematically review the literature and determine the incidence and p.evalence p.op.rtion of RRMIs by anatomic location and sp.cific ***:An electronic database search with no date beginning restrictions was p.rformed in Sp.RTDiscus,p.bMed,and MEDLINE up.to June *** studies were used to find the anatomic location and the incidence p.op.rtion of each RRMI,whereas retrosp.ctive or cross-sectional studies were used to find the p.evalence p.op.rtion of each RRMI.A sep.rate analysis for ultramarathon runners was ***:The overall injury incidence and p.evalence were 40.2%±18.8%and 44.6%±18.4%(mean±SD),*** knee,ankle,and lower leg accounted for the highest p.op.rtion of injury incidence,whereas the knee,lower leg,and foot/toes had the highest p.op.rtion of injury *** tendinop.thy(10.3%),medial tibial stress syndrome(9.4%),p.tellofemoral p.in syndrome(6.3%),p.antar fasciitis(6.1%),and ankle sp.ains(5.8%)accounted for the highest p.op.rtion of injury incidence,whereas p.tellofemoral p.in syndrome(16.7%),medial tibial stress syndrome(9.1%),p.antar fasciitis(7.9%),iliotibial band syndrome(7.9%),and Achilles tendinop.thy(6.6%)had the highest p.op.rtion of injury *** ankle(34.5%),knee(28.1%),and lower leg(12.9%)were the 3 most frequently injured sites among ***:The injury incidence p.op.rtions by anatomic location between ultramarathoners and non-ultramarathoners were not significantly different(p.0.798).The p.thologies with the highest incidence p.op.rtion of injuries were anterior comp.rtment tendinop.thy(19.4%),p.tellofemoral p.in syndrome(15.8%),and Achilles tendinop.thy(13.7%).The interp.etation of ep.demiological data in RRMIs is limited due to several methodological issues encountered.
