Culex tarsalis Coquillett(Diptera:Culicidae)mosquitoes are capable of vectoring numerous pathogens affecting public and animal ***,the probing behaviors of mosquitoes are poorly understood because they occur in opaque ***(EPG)has the potential to elucidate these behaviors by recording the electrical signals generated during *** used an AC–DC EPG with variable input resistors(Ri levels)to construct a waveform library for *** feeding on human *** events associated with mosquito probing were used to characterize waveforms at four Ri levels and with two electrical current *** optimal settings for EPG recordings of *** probing on human hands was an Ri level of 10^(7)Ohms using an applied signal of 150 millivolts alternating *** for *** included those previously observed and associated with probing behaviors in Aedes aegypti L.(Diptera:Culicidae):waveform families J(surface salivation),K(stylet penetration through the skin),L(types 1 and 2,search for a blood vessel/ingestion site),M(types 1 and 2,ingestion),n(type 1,an unknown behavior which may be a resting and digestion phase),and W(withdrawal).However,we also observed variations in the waveforms not described in ***,which we named types L3,M3,M4,and *** investigation enhances our understanding of mosquito probing *** also provides a new tool for the automated calculation of peak *** work will facilitate future pathogen acquisition and transmission studies and help identify new pest and disease management targets.

Background:Physical activity(PA)is important for cancer *** of remotely delivered interventions are needed to assist in reaching under-served non-metropolitan cancer *** objective of this study was to ascertain whether wearable technology,coupled with health coaching was effective in increasing PA in breast and colorectal cancer survivors living in regional and remote areas in ***:Cancer survivors from 5 states were randomized to intervention and control *** participants were given a Fitbit Charge 2TMand received up to 6 telephone health coaching *** participants received PA print *** assessments at baseline and 12 weeks measured moderate-to-vigorous PA(MVPA),light PA,and sedentary ***:Eighty-seven participants were recruited(age=63±11 years;74(85%)female).There was a significant net improvement in MVPA of 49.8 min/week,favoring the intervention group(95%confidence interval(95%CI):13.6-86.1,p=0.007).There was also a net increase in MVPA bouts of 39.5 min/week(95%CI:11.9-67.1,p=0.005),favoring the intervention *** groups improved light PA and sedentary behavior,but there were no between-group ***:This’s the first study to demonstrate that,when compared to standard practice(i.e.,PA education),a wearable technology intervention coupled with distance-based health coaching,improves MVPA in non-metropolitan cancer *** results display promise for the use of scalable interventions using smart wearable technology in conjunction with phone-based health coaching to foster increased PA in geographically disadvantaged cancer survivors.

目的旨在描述制定及评估一项短期留学生研究和教育项目。方法研究分为项目制定与实施及评价2部分。根据1名国际学生的短期访学需求,护理学院的全球护理项目协调员和首席导师共同确定项目基本内容和团队成员。该项目学习活动考虑了该国际学生对老年人和居家临终关怀的兴趣,包括4项内容:.开展研究工作,参与教学活动,参与临床实践活动,以及特殊活动和专业发展培训课程。在为期6个月的访学结束时,对参与此次教学活动的教师、研究生及留学生进行访谈和简短问卷调查。结果通过访谈了解到3个方面的内容:通过参与该项目中获得的经验(增强了教育和研究的多样性,获得了新的全球医疗保健知识,对文化意识的自我反思和促进);项目实施的障碍和挑战(签证申请过程,英语语言障碍,缺乏公共交通设施,时间安排冲突);克服这些障碍和挑战的策略(在课程中增加文化多样性信息;与其他同学一起学习英语;使用不同的沟通技巧;在签证申请过程中与大学全球事务办公室持续合作;提供互动体验)。所有项目参与者都对该项目表示非常满意(4.67±0.50),认为对他们在科研、教学和临床实践方面的护理技能有很大影响(4.67±0.50)。结论此次项目的参与者均获得了相关经验,可用于今后的教学指导活动。国际护理专业学生需要得到帮助才能更好地适应访学环境,教师必须具有文化敏感性,了解学生的学习需求,并倡导营造适合学生学习的环境。

This paper presents an original theoretical framework to model steel material properties in continuous casting line process. Specific properties arising from non-newtonian dynamics are herein used to indicate the natural convergence of distributed parameter systems to fractional order transfer function models. Data driven identification from a real continuous casting line is used to identify model of the electromagnetic actuator device to control flow velocity of liquid steel. To ensure product specifications, a fractional order control is designed and validated on the system. A projection of the closed loop performance onto the quality assessment at end production line is also given in this paper.

目的分析了解深圳市输入性恶性疟原虫耐药基因突变情况,帮助评估抗疟药的疗效和指导有效用药。方法收集2022—2023年从境外输入深圳市的恶性疟荧光定量聚合酶链反应(polymerase chain reaction,PCR)阳性的样本85例,提取基因组DnA,使用巢式PCR扩增耐药基因:恶性疟原虫Kelch螺旋体蛋白基因(Plasmodium falciparum Kelch 13,PfK13)、多药耐药基因1(multidrug resistance 1,Pfmdr1)、氯喹抗性转运基因(chloroquine resistance transporter,Pfcrt)、二氢叶酸还原酶基因(dihydrofolate reductase,Pfdhfr)和二氢蝶酸合成酶基因(dihydropteroate synthase,Pfdhps),并进行双向测序,使用MEGA11.06软件分析这些耐药基因突变情况。结果研究发现PfK13错义突变(S549P)1例,同义突变4例。Pfmdr162.69%样本存在Y184F突变,未检测到n86Y突变体。Pfcrt基因中,未检测到72和73位点的突变,M74I、n75E和K76T突变分别占17.46%、15.87%和15.87%。Pfcrt基因野生型占主导(82.54%,52例),其次是I_(74)E_(75)T_(76)三重突变体(15.87%,10例)。Pfdhfr最常见的突变型为I_(51)R_(59)n_(108)(91.78%,67例),其次是野生型(2.74%,2例)。Pfdhps野生型占60.32%(38例),单突变K540E为最常见突变类型,检测到S436A、G437A、K540E、A581G、A613S、I431V、G556K、G579E位点突变。Pfdhfr-Pfdhps组合突变中,I_(51)R_(59)n_(108)-E540是频率最高的组合突变(11.48%),59.02%样本为Pfdhfr单独突变体。结论在本研究中,PfK13突变率低,且无报导的耐药突变,Y184F成为Pfmdr1突变主导,未发现有n86Y。Pfcrt野生型为主,其次为I_(74)E_(75)T_(76)三重突变体,Pfdhfr I_(51)R_(59)n_(108)三重突变非常普遍,本研究并未发现PfdhfrPfdhps完全抗性和超抗性突变体,但有其他的五重七重突变型。在未来的工作中,需要继续加强疟原虫耐药基因的监测,同时进一步结合体内疗效的监测来有效指导临床用药。

Healthy soils are important to ensure satisfactory crop growth and yield. Poultry litter (PL), as an organic fertilizer, has proven to supply the soil with essential macro and micronutrients, enhance soil fertility, and improve crop productivity. Integrating this treatment has the potential to improve soil physical and biological properties by increasing soil carbon, C. However, rapid decomposition and mineralization of PL, particularly in the hot and humid southeastern U.S., resulted in losing C and reduced its effect on soil health. Biochar and lignite have been proposed to stabilize and mitigate C loss through application of fresh manure. However, their combined effects with PL on C sequestration and soil health components are limited. A field experiment was conducted on Leeper silty clay loam soil from 2017 to 2020 to evaluate the combined effect on soil properties when applying biochar and lignite with PL to cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). The experimental design was a randomized complete block involving nine treatments replicated three times. Treatments included PL and inorganic nitrogen, n, fertilizer with or without biochar and lignite, and an unfertilized control. Application rates were 6.7 Mgkg⋅ha−1 for PL, 6.7 Mgkg⋅ha−1 for biochar and lignite and 134 kg⋅ha−1 for inorganic n fertilizer. Integration of PL and inorganic fertilizer with biochar and lignite, resulted in greater soil infiltration, aggregate stability, plant available water, reduced bulk density and penetration resistance as compared to the sole applications of PL and inorganic fertilizer.

Extreme high temperatures detrimental to maize production are projected to occur more frequently with future climate *** and yield-related traits were investigated under several levels of elevated temperature in two early-maturing hybrid cultivars:Junda 6(grown in northeastern China)and Chalok 1(grown in South Korea).They were cultivated in plastic houses in Suwon,Korea(37.27°n,126.99°E)held at target temperatures of ambient(AT),AT+1.5°C,AT+3°C,and AT+5°C at one sowing date in 2013 and three different sowing dates in *** and reproductive growth durations showed variation depending on sowing date,experimental year,and *** duration tended to decrease,but not necessarily,with temperature elevation,but somewhat increased again above a certain *** temperature-dependent variation was greater during grain filling than in the vegetative period before *** temperature showed no significant effects on duration or peak dates of silking and anthesis,and thus on anthesis–silking *** yield tended to decrease with temperature elevation above ambient,showing a sharper linear decrease with mean growing season temperature increase in Junda 6 than in Chalok *** decrease in kernel number accounted for a much greater contribution to the yield reductions due to temperature elevation than did the decrease in individual kernel weight in both *** harvestable kernel weight was not significantly affected by temperature elevation *** number showed a linear decrease with mean growth temperature from early ear formation to early grain-filling stage,with Junda 6 showing a much severer decrease than Chalok *** number reduction due to temperature elevation was attributable more to the decrease in differentiated ovule number than to the decrease in kernel set in Chalok 1,but largely to the decrease of kernel set in Junda 6.

BACKGROUnD Insulinomas are the most common type of functioning endocrine neoplasms of the pancreas presenting hypoglycemic *** characteristically develop symptoms while fasting,but some patients have reported symptoms only in the postprandial *** and prolonged hypoglycemic episodes can reduce the awareness of adrenergic symptoms,and patients may have amnesia,which delays *** SUMMARY We describe a case of a 24-year-old underweight patient who showed hypoglycemic symptoms for almost 6 *** patients with insulinoma characteristically develop symptoms while fasting,this young man had hypoglycemic symptoms up to one hour postprandially,especially after highsugar meals and after physical *** fasting tests and imaging methods performed at local hospitals were evaluated as negative for abnormal ***,brown adipose tissue exhibited increased metabolic activity,and some muscle groups had histological changes as indicated by positron emission tomography with 2-deoxy-2-[fluorine-18]fluoro-D-glucose integrated with computed *** deficiency was also histologically *** patient’s symptoms progressed over the years and occurred more frequently,i.e.,several times a month,and the patient had reduced awareness of adrenergic *** follow-up fasting test was positive,and the imaging results showed a tumor in the head of the *** patient underwent laparotomy with enucleation of the *** Weight gain and fasting hypoglycemia are not necessarily characteristics of *** prolonged cases,adrenergic symptoms can be suppressed.
