Quercetin is a multifaceted dietary flavonoid with a multitude of biologic activities that can be used to treat various ailments. These include cancer, bacterial and viral infections, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. A greater emphasis on cancer is discussed within this paper by highlighting some of the beneficial qualities of quercetin without including other related dietary flavonoids and quercetin analogs. In vitro and in vivo analysis are evaluated without making recommendations on dosage, dosing regiments, or administration since quercetin has not been subjected to rigorous clinical trials despite the significant amount of research that has been conducted with quercetin.

Ozone therapy has been marred by conventional science for years due to many flawed experimental designs or small sample sizes of the population in which it intends to study. For this reason, many physicians have dismissed ozone therapy and limited funds have been delegated to furthering the knowledge of its therapeutic effects. However, there is evidence that suggests that ozone does have various therapeutic effects that range from disinfection of pathogens, anticancer properties, and treatment of back ailments. In this paper, we have collected the more promising studies that suggest the efficacy and safety of ozone therapy primarily focusing on autohemotherapy. This paper is designed to promote awareness of ozone therapy and to show some supporting evidence of its efficacy. Clinically, ozone therapy is often used adjunctively and combined with other treatment modalities to enhance or encourage a desired mechanism of action. Since the efficacy of ozone alone is still contentious, it is important to note that ozone therapy should be used in conjunction with other various treatments with very few exceptions.

Today, the oil and gas industry, and in particular hydraulic fracturing operations, have come under increasing pressure from regulators and the public to reduce emissions. As the industry evolves, oil and gas producers are in the position of evaluating alternative technologies which will support their objectives of reducing their overall emissions profile and carbon footprint. As a response, the deployment of technology and solutions to reduce emissions related to hydraulic fracturing applications has recently accelerated, creating various options to address these industry challenges. BJ Energy Solutions and West Virginia University have been working on the application and emissions characterization of various hydraulic fracturing technologies. A study was conducted to evaluate the efficiency and resultant emissions from various technologies, including natural gas reciprocating engines, diesel-natural gas dual-fuel engines, large (>24 MW) gas turbines, and direct drive turbines. The study involved the development of an emissions model with the purpose of estimating total emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O) and exhaust methane (CH4) slip, all Greenhouse Gases (GHGs), and converted to tons of CO2 equivalent emissions per day of operation. The model inputs are the required Hydraulic Horsepower (HHP) based on pumping rate and pressure for various shale play scenarios. The model calculates emissions from the TITAN, which is a direct-drive turbine model fielded by BJ, using data collected following U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) testing protocols. The model also calculates and compares other hydraulic fracturing technologies utilizing published Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) data. Relevant EPA-regulated criteria emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Particulate Matter (PM) are also reported. 黏度是液体铝合金重要的热物性质之一,影响到液体充型与凝固的特征,继而铸件的质量。在本研究中,从文献中收集了315组实验测定的黏度数据,用来开发黏度预测模型。采用BP神经网络算法构建模型,以熔体温度和合金中Al、Si、Fe、Cu、Mn、Mg和Zn的含量作为模型输入,并以黏度值作为模型输出。为了改善模型精度,研究不同训练算法和隐含层神经元数的影响。使用遗传算法优化初始权重与赋值,这显著改善了模型精度。模型预测值与实验值间的相对误差小于5%,证明所构建的优化模型具有高的预测精度与可靠性。用建立的模型对纯Al和二元Al合金的黏度随温度和溶质含量变化的预测结果与文献中的实验结果非常一致,表明该模型在工程应用中具有较好的预测精度。

钢管桁架结构的研究偏向于具体工程实例的研究,没有形成比较通用的设计计算方法。为了得到影响钢管结构力学性能的关键参数,为管桁结构的概念设计提供依据。利用振型分解反应谱法,通过ANSYS有限元软件,对warren钢管桁架在高跨比H/L、截面宽高比W/h和榀间距S等参数变化下的桁架抗震性能进行了变参数分析。通过分析得到桁架结构的高跨比H/L对warren式钢管桁架动力响应的影响最为显著。在进行warren式钢管桁架的设计时,建议将桁架的高跨比控制在1/28以内,截面的宽高比控制在1/2.3以内,榀间距控制在4～6.6 m之间,三个变参数在这一区间取值比较合理。分析结果对于钢管结构抗震性能的概念性设计具有参考价值。

TGR5 expression in benign, preneoplastic and neoplastic lesions of Barrett's esophagus: Case series and findings

AIM To examined the bile acid receptor TGR5 expression in squamous mucosa, Barrett's mucosa, dysplasia and esophageal adenocarcinoma(EA). METHODS Slides were stained with TGR5 antibody. The staining intensity was scored as 1+, 2+ and 3+. The extent of staining(percentage of cells staining) was scored as follows: 1+, 1%-10%, 2+, 11%-50%, 3+, 51%-100%. A combined score of intensity and extent was calculated and categorized as negative, weak, moderate and strong staining. TGR5 m RNA was measured by real time PCR.RESULTS We found that levels of TGR5 mR NA were significantly increased in Barrett's dysplastic cell line CP-D and EA cell line SK-GT-4, when compared with Barrett's cell line CP-A. Moderate to strong TGR5 staining was significantly higher in high-grade dysplasia and EA cases than in Barrett's esophagus(BE) or in low-grade dysplasia. Moderate to strong staining was slightly higher in low-grade dysplasia than in BE mucosa, but there is no statistical significance. TGR5 staining had no significant difference between high-grade dysplasia and EA. In addition, TGR5 staining intensity was not associated with the clinical stage, the pathological stage and the status of lymph node metastasis.CONCLUSION We conclude that TGR5 immunostaining was much stronger in high-grade dysplasia and EA than in BE mucosa or low-grade dysplasia and that its staining intensity was not associated with the clinical stage, the pathological stage and the status of lymph node metastasis. TGR5 might be a potential marker for the progression from BE to high-grade dysplasia and EA.

The effects of different Zn addition(0,0.2,0.5,1.0 wt%)on the microstructure and mechanical properties of cast Mg-1Nd-1Ce-Zr alloy in as-cast,solution-treated and 200℃peak-aged conditions were studied.Precipitates in cast Mg-1Nd-1Ce-Zr alloy are significantly modified by the Zn addition.In the Zn-free alloy,the disk-shaped prismatic precipitates and the point-like precipitates are the main strengthening phases.When 0.2 Zn is added,the disk-shaped precipitates are refined and very fine basal precipitates form additionally.When 0.5 Zn is added,the basal precipitates become the main strengthening phase.Further increasing the Zn addition to 1.0%,only spare basal precipitates and point-like precipitates exist.The 0.5 Zn addition alloy has the highest strength at room temperature,whose yield strength,ultimate tensile strength and elongation in T6 condition are 136 MPa,237 MPa and 9%,respectively.
